Long Eaton Fox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 My dad took me to the 1969 FA cup final at wembley for my first game aged 11. Remember sitting on the terraces at the end crying. Hooked ever since.
Scoobyrob Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 1980 beat Preston 2 - 1. Was 8 yrs old. My dad new Bill Anderson so we sat with him in the press box at the back of the old main stand.

Scoobyrob Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Before my time but did used to play cricket with David Nish in the 80's. Top bloke.
Head Honcho Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 A friendly away at Notts County in the 60's was mine but my first home league game was against Wolves. Think it must have been the 1-1 draw in 72 although I always thought my first game was 0-0 in 70/71 but according to our history there was no such game so must be 1972.
Fox92 Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Not to sure. It was probably a home game, but the first game I can really remember is Sunderland away in 1999 (lost 0-2, I think).
taffyfox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 I was about nine. Travelled up from south Wales in 1992 and sat in the double decker. We beat Bristol City 2-1 and all I remember is Russell Osman on the cover of the program! Also remember my mum and dad complaining that it cost 24quid for three people to watch a football game!!!!
hesapeepingtom Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 september 2000 1 0 home win over southampton. gerry taggart 66th minute bullet header!
dobbylcfc Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Portsmouth play off home leg at forest. If I remember right it was there because the carling stand was being built.
davieG Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Don't remember who it was against although they played in red stripe shirts or the final score just remember one of their players scoring with an overhead scissors kick from the edge of the kop penalty area. Early 60s though.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Watford at home 1999. 1-0 Izzet.
Long Eaton Fox Posted 14 September 2013 Author Posted 14 September 2013 I remember the Portsmouth playoff Dobbylcfc, Joachim with a wonder goal.
MooseBreath Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Some time early in the Brian Little era. 92ish I would guess. Can't remember exactly. The lower tier of the south stand was still a terrace, I remember that
lgfualol Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Grimsby at home 2003, a balloon hit my head. We won, it was good.
Zingari Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Grimsby at home 2003, a balloon hit my head. We won, it was good. If it had been a baboon hitting your head it would have been a better story
trugerkem Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 first game at filbert street was march 4th 1975...i think..it was an facup replay between leeds and ipswich 0-0 then went to the same fixture 2 days later 2-3 to ipswich .....clive woods scored a screamer and i was hooked on the atmosphere so kept going back to watch leicester
Zingari Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Leicester City 7 Arsenal 2 Early 60's (63), but i'm not actually sure if it was my very first game , but it's the one that sticks in my mind as the point when i got hooked .
Webbo Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Frank McLintock was manager. Either 0-0 or 1-1 (can't be sure) against Bristol City.
Zingari Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Frank McLintock was manager. Either 0-0 or 1-1 (can't be sure) against Bristol City. We drew both games 0-0 with Bristol City that year and finished bottom . I'm blaming you for all our misfortune now !!
UrbanFox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Middlesbrough at home in 1992! I think it finished 2-1 to city
