The fans were unhappy at Petev's appointment as coach as they believe he is a supporter of arch city rivals CSKA Sofia. Bit like a Partizan Belgrade fan taking over Red Star, Real fan at the helm at Camp Nou, or a King's Lynn local taking over Wisbech Town.In seriousness they do tend to take the rivalries quite seriously out this way. Maybe a legacy of clubs being run on poltical grounds and affiliated to different forces. Domestic football in Bulgaria is such a steaming turd that it's only this kind of crazy shit that keeps it fun for the supporters.
