smitha Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 loan spell finished at Millwall after today's game apparently, is he an option for the next few games been playing regularly for them.
Bert Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Wouldn't be surprised if he's in the squad Tuesday.
RizLCFC Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Another striker who works hard but doesn't score many goals when he should do. Only 3 in 14 Championship appearances for Milwall. But he'll freshen the place up a bit and with Wood out, he's got a chance to show what he can do. I'd be surprised if he's still here come February.
Thracian Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 He might help us a bit short term but the sooner he leaves the better for his career's sake. And if he's any doubt about that he should ring Billy McKay. Andy King's another - his career needs a lift, a new dimension. He's been here so long he's started stagnating. As for Schlupp, he was better off at Brentford where he got the chance to shine and build some confidence. Leicester's got a big club mentality but a small club's attainment levels and it's high time it changed.
Dickov22 Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Schlupp has disappointed me this season, but I still think he might have something. Waghorn has had too many chances. He's a terrible footballer
Bettsj2 Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 At the end of last season when Schlupp played up front with Wood he started to look decent. This year he's looked dreadful. That little stint Waghorn had last season before he had his appendix out was unbelievable, but still didnt provide the goals. As much as I like him, its time to part ways.
Bryn Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 I like Waghorn, he's got good attributes, but none of our strikers score consistently. We could really use a goal poacher, a Danny Ings, someone who might not necessarily do a lot in the build up but who will convert most of his chances. We've always had strikers who have good games and who do a lot for the team but don't consistently put the ball in the net. Waghorn doesn't solve that. Re. Schlupp, I really don't see a lot in him, you never feel like he's going to do anything up front. I quite like him at left back though.
GingerrrFox Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Schlupp is best as a left back or left winger. I'd take Waghorn everyday of the week instead up front.
fleckneymike Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Waghron, sadly, has been an expensive mistake. At least that fee will never rise to £3m.
Winnershfox Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Get him back in time for Man City and partner him up front with Vardy.!
Soar Fox Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Schlupp has disappointed me this season, but I still think he might have something. Waghorn has had too many chances. He's a terrible footballer Waghorn has got a lot more to offer than Schlupp has. I really don't see why people rate Schlupp the times he comes on he looks lazy and uninterested.

I really don't see why people rate Schlupp the times he comes on he looks lazy and uninterested. Since Waghorn signed permanently for us he's played 65 games scoring 8 goals. Schlupp has played 64 scoring 9. Now if a lazy, disinterested part time left back can score more than a 'pashun'ate part time winger I'd worry about that pashunate player.

I'm not saying Waghorn is the answer to our striker situation but I think he would offer more coming off the bench than Schlupp at the minute.

I really don't see why people rate Schlupp the times he comes on he looks lazy and uninterested. I didn't say I did rate Schlupp- he's been terrible this season. I do think he has potential though- his header against Bham last season, goal against Bolton (I think). He's got something. Whether he chooses to get better is up to him I guess. Don't think it helps that he never gets a run of games in one position. Again, I'm not suggesting he should. As for Waghorn, he's a terrible footballer. Can't score goals, can't finish unless he doesn't have time to think about it eg a snap shot, can't control the ball properly, never ever ever jumps and wins headers. He's not good enough. He's had so many chances here. 100% we will get rid if we get a decent offer.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Get him back in time for Man City and partner him up front with Vardy.! Looking at how Vardy was holding his shoulder I doubt hell be fit to play tomorrow
Thracian Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Can't ever see him being prolific - although we never make the best of anyone so it's impossible to be certain. But if the fee's going to be £500,000 or less, rather than £1m, we might be better served keeping him in the current situation. Ours is a small squad anyway, Vardy's been knock ed about lately, Nugent's not exactly sparkling, I'm not sure what Gary Taylor-Fletcher is for and no-one seems able to even decide where Schlupp's most suited let alone whether he's worth playing more than occasionally. What you get with Waghorn is effort, energy and a few cracks at goal whether they threaten the fans more often than the goal or not. He's the sort of player who can press people quickly too. Yes, his close control often lets him down and he's not the best at seeing a pass, but he does have to be marked and he will add action to an already fairly active, if not always effective, attack.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Get him back in time for Man City and partner him up front with Vardy.! I see we have comedian in our ranks.
