ozleicester Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Liked the lad, but was never worth 3mill. Good luck to him, His loan spell was pretty good.i dont think anyone can say he didnt try for us, he just didnt seem to get it right, still remember that last minute goal in front of the kop. His injuries, manager changes and bad luck have (i think) prevented him from showing his best for us.
Dickov22 Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 How many excuses do we want to give the lad? Injuries, change of manager, lack of games etc. The fact is, he's never even shown that he's good enough to play regularly. He tries his best so it's difficult to have anything but affection for him but he's not good enough. He's not very good in the air, he can't control a football very well, his shooting is rash. If you're good enough, your class will get you there. He's played under 3(?) Managers here and none have seen him as first choice. That's because, he's not good enough! No point in comparing him to what we have because if we manage to offload him, we may bring someone else in. He's nearly out of contract and isn't going to get another so it's great business if we can offload him permanently and get something for him. Good luck to him.
ramaiya2 Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 I want him to stay but Good Luck to him if he goes

Manwell Pablo Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Despite what many people think on here, Waghorn will go on to have a very good career away from us and I think he will play in the Premiership in time. Still young and has time to put it all together. He's knocking on 24 and he's about to move to Millwall, he hasn't scored more than 5 Championship goals 2009/10 Fair play if you're right like but I don't see it somehow.
sylofox Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Don't go waggy, no one likes them, and they don't care. No one likes us and I really don't care.
kingfox Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Feel sorry for Mark_w, it will be difficult for a couple of months, but you will be fine in the end. Like I've said before don't do anything stupid.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 I really do hope that if he is leaving someone else hijacks the deal, Derby, Forest, anyone other than Millwall. Oh boy! You must really dislike Millwall.
LCFC FOX Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 I also think he will become a great championship goalscorer and push for the premier league. I can see him being like Danny Ings if he plays most games as we saw that last season. He was dropped and that is when we went on a losing streak. IMO I rate him more than Vardy and Schlupp and can only see us regretting it if we don't give him another chance to show us why we should give him a new contract when he comes back from Millwall
LCFC_6410 Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Personally really rate him and would of liked to of seen him make it on the bench instead of wood as i feel he makes more of an impact and has a decent free kick on him.
Thracian Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 If effort, energy and commitment equalled success Waghorn would be fine. But it doesn't. What counts is effect and outcomes. Waghorn is a limited footballer who nearly does a lot of things but mostly does little. He's also far too easy to neutralise and doesn't have much to make him difficult to combat as a striker. Seems to me like the sort of expendable soldier they used to send out first in the bloodbaths of the First World War. All action and willing to have a go at doing what was asked, but not the sort of calculating, ice-cold killer that would make him a legend - like Lineker, in footballing terms. Wind him up and Waghorn will go like crazy for half-an-hour and during that time you'd have to watch out for that left-foot of his, just in case he got lucky and actually hit a shot straight. But, channel him onto his right foot and let his batteries run down a bit and there's very little left. His passing's not reliable, he's not big enough to win and hold the ball as a target man, he's not particularly skillful and even less so at pace, he doesn't see the pictures easily and he doesn't have the shrewd ideas or off-the-ball movement of someone like Teddy Sheringham. Altogether a good squad man but not the kind of guy who would be a natural first choice in a team that would challenge for honours at Championship level or beyond. All that seemed clear when he first came here and nothing's changed. He always seems too wound up to just relax, think and make sure such opportunities as come his way hit the target instead of being blazed finishing high or wide or both. But, he'll likely score against us should the opportunity arise because he's the sort of person who can and sometimes does make a short-term point. Bu that doesn't make a 20-goals-a-season striker with assists as a bonus.
ADK Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 I think it's a mistake and he will end up scoring loads for them and eventually be sold for much more money. We needed someone decent to come on against Doncaster.
sylofox Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 I really do hope that if he is leaving someone else hijacks the deal, Derby, Forest, anyone other than Millwall. Yeah that would be great he goes to the trees scores against us. Gets them in the play offs or automatic promotion and we miss out. Rather him go to millwall and take points off our rivals.
shade Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 I think I posted that mi mate (A Millwall fan) said that Waggy has been really good for Millwall. Holding the ball up well and now with two goals. I still think there's more to come from him, but Pearson I don't think, does, so selling him will probably happen. I'll side with the guys opinion who gets paid to manage in one of the toughest leagues in the world and does a decent job of it, sorry.
sylofox Posted 13 December 2013 Posted 13 December 2013 Todays sun Lomas wants him for 500k in jan. Will this get Deletted too?
