Guest Bilo Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 The overwhelming joy and happiness they give you makes it all worth while. It's not until you have children of your own that you realise how much your own parents love you. Slight deviation, but how's your daughter getting on these days? Is the school still being supportive towards her?
johnny the fox Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Everybody who insists on having children is really an egotist who wants to reproduce a better version of themselves...but won't admit it .. all the rest is propaganda.. I for one won't conform..sorry..
Webbo Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Slight deviation, but how's your daughter getting on these days? Is the school still being supportive towards her? The dyslexic one? They send her to a special school once a week but she doesn't like it, The maths and English they teach are way below her level. I'm not knocking the effort but I don't think they really know what/how to teach her. She'll be alright, she's a nice looking girl with a bit of personality. She'll get on.

A shame that, some schools have no idea what to do with SEN students. Once she leaves compulsory schooling and goes to college or an apprenticeship, I'm sure she'll be much happier. Especially if, as you say, she has a strong personality.

She doesn't really know what she wants to do when she leaves school which tbf I didn't at that age either.

Webbo Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Surely you wanted to be Mod on here? I never dared to dream of such heights. Those jobs weren't for the likes of me.
I am Rod Hull Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Kids are great. The natural high I got when my first was born was unbelievable, I was strutting up and down the hospital corridors like John Travolta. Pain in the arse when they hit their teens though, little knowitalls

Simply put, my youngest son wasted the first 18 months of his education . The school even told me there was no budget for one to one lessons for him, which i had to find out from the head of education for Leicester was bullshit. He's in a far better and happier environment now though and his improvement never ceases to amaze me.
DennisNedry Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 When do you get to a point when you want children? Is it an age thing, or does it come about when you find your 'soulmate'? I'm 20, and right now I think having a child would be one of the worst things that could happen to me.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Best thing in the world even if I am currently lying in bed watching Bolt for the 6th time this week with my 2 year old who woke up crying because of a nightmare.

Guest Bilo Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Back on topic; I'd love kids one day, but working in a secondary school doesn't half make you dread the teenage years.
Bert Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Think some people forget that they were a child at one point and perhaps did similar thing. Sure, they aren't everyone's cup of tea but I personally can't wait to have kids of my own. I guess how they turn out depends on the upbringing they get.

I'll be doing all I can to ensure any of mine won't be quite so twatty.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 I don't want kids until I'm at least 30, and even then I want to make sure that I can afford them - by that I mean I want them to have a comfortable upbringing that is better than mine. I may be sad but I want to be a typical suburban family, 2.2 kids etc. Ideally 2 boys.
z-layrex Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 I'm 25 and the thought of spending my life around a child fills me with dread. I'm that age where some friends have started having children, and most of them instantly turned into the biggest c***s in the world. Being single your life is just so silly and unimportant compared to their's.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 I have a 10 month old cousin, spending time with him is quality. Especially as I can give him back!

z-layrex Posted 14 October 2013 Posted 14 October 2013 They dont turn into c***s, their priorities change.... That is a strong word, but if I ever have a baby I like to think I'd make some effort not to become a total bore to everyone around me.
ozleicester Posted 14 October 2013 Posted 14 October 2013 If you are lucky, they make you a better person, if you are really lucky, they make the world a better place.

Finnegan Posted 14 October 2013 Posted 14 October 2013 If you are lucky, they make you a better person, if you are really lucky, they make the world a better place. And if you're really, really lucky they won't be vegetarians.
Hollism Posted 14 October 2013 Posted 14 October 2013 I'm 18 and can't wait to have kids Okay that was an exaggeration, I can wait a bit, but let's say I really can't imagine a future without 2 or more little 'me's running around breaking stuff God forbid, but I can't imagine how I'd live if I was told I couldn't have kids. I believe there's one or two who have mentioned on here that they have been told so, and it pained me to read it.
