DennisNedry Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Every time I buy one and win nothing, I tell myself that I'll never buy one again... then a few days later I buy another one and lose. Has anybody else been stupid enough to get hooked on them?
Soar Fox Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I might buy the odd one if I've had some lose change when paying for something. Never won anything over £10 on them though.
foxfanazer Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 No never bothered with them. Blackjack on the machines in the bookies are my vice
Bayfox Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Only time I buy which is rare. I only ever win 2 quid which I of course then use to buy another 1 or 2 and guess what 2 quid again or nothing. I'll stick to the roulette.
Ashley Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Found £2.00 in May. I had another £1.00 on me. I went into a local shop and purchased the bingo scratch card. Won £50.00
Guest MattP Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Always buy a couple. Never win big. A guy who lives near me won a million on one a few years back. Still didn't pay back 50 quid he owed my mate after.
SeCrEt FoX Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Every time I buy one and win nothing, I tell myself that I'll never buy one again... then a few days later I buy another one and lose. Has anybody else been stupid enough to get hooked on them? Yep . Ive been buying them often for the past 16 odd years and ive never won more than £30. About 8 years ago me and my cousin bought £50 worth of pound cards all off the same reel and all we won was £2 . I still buy often and dont even win my money back and it pisses me off when people i know who dont buy them often buys one and wins decent money. My sister never buys them and about two months ago she decided one day she would get one and won £500 jammy cow. To be fair she was a bit skint at the time so i was glad she won it.
leicesterisme Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Bought one for the first time in ages on Friday and won £10, most I've ever won!
Fox92 Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Used to do it when I was at college because the shop was a few yards away... Never, ever won... Thankfully, I don't buy them anymore. However, I sadly play roulette now. This really needs to stop because I'm just throwing money away. Wish I'd never started playing it. I don't even put a lot on, it's just the fact when I add up all my stakes, I could have treated myself to something nice and productive.
Ozwin Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I work in a shop, the pound ones aren't worth bothering with. The real winners are on the £10 scratchcards but you need balls to buy them.

Alexikokopops Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I won £100 on one a couple of years ago. Spent it all that evening buying people drinks. About a month ago I bought a £5 one, won a fiver. Invested it, won a tenner. Invested it in another £5 card. Won £15. Bought a £10 scratch card and won £50. Blew it on Nandos (of all the things! I think it's the only time I've been there in 2013!) for me and a mate. What a waste. I don't buy them often though. Maybe one every couple of months
SystonFox Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I won £34 off the first one I ever bought when I was 16. Random ammount I know but it was one of those £2 ones 10 years ago (the most expensive at the time) which had four different chances to win. Each one won an ammount that totalled £34. I pocketed £30 and spent £4 on two more and won another £20 or so. £50 up in a matter of minutes. I was 16! I went straight to McDonald's and went crazy with a large Big Mac meal and a mcflurry!!! And a new pair of trainers to boot!!! (Not from mcdonalds) I'd guess it's been about 7 or 8 years since I last got one though
Saxondale Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I've been on a bit of a run of buying the £1 ones. They're supposed to have a 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 (I forget) chance of winning at least the minimum, so the more I lose, the more I think I'm due a small win. Ruddy things!
Xen Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Rarely win on them, then when I do it's only ever the money that I spent on it back. Bought a £2 a few weeks back and won 3 times out of the four chances on the card. Won the grand total of... £5. Pfft. My Dad won on 4 out of 4 lines on a single card and picked up a fiver for each line once, which is the biggest win I've seen anyone get..
Rincewind Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 SC1 1 in 5 SC2 1 in 5 SC3 1 in5 Etc. Etc which is why I rarely buy them
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 Buy a couple every now and then (only £1 ones), never won more than £20, although that felt pretty good the couple of times I won that much and I know when to stop

I thought the minimum win (each time, not total) on a scratch card is the amount you paid for it, so the minimum you'd get for winning three times on a £2 would be £6? Unless there was a line where you won £1?
glenny_fox Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 I won £1000 a few months ago on one of those £3 bingo cards, also had a £50 not long ago on a bingo one.
