Grandad. Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Seriously? It was said sarcastically mate, but even you must admit that only a hand full of people will have seen Martinez play regularly and in a few Champions League games, no chance the majority of people hailing him have seen a lot of him play, just seen his statistics. So where I say because he is good on FIFA it must mean he is good in real life, is mainly said it jest but in most cases with peoples opinions on here is true.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 How Good is this, Seen it on my way to work this morning, 46 metres high and 41 metres long.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 How Good is this, Seen it on my way to work this morning, 46 metres high and 41 metres long. keep the faith, I'm gonna have so much fun laughing at you lot
ScouseFox Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 in the latest of pele's years of wisdom he thinks brazil, argentina, spain and germany will do well.
purpleronnie Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Loving the 9 bulletin points given to the players by the FA telling them what not to talk about, the usual overzealous paranoid FA scared that a player might express an opinion. If you believe what some players and journalists have said there are plenty of english players who in a dressing room are dynamic characters but place them in front of a camera and they look like a deer caught in the headlights. Maybe if the FA weren't dead set on micro-managing every aspect of the players lives then maybe we wouldn't get robot like responses from every player. You also have wonder the mind set this creates, other nations players look so much relaxed than ours, for me FA's medling just adds to an already nervous team.
Leicesterpool Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Just been said on talksport Luiz Felipe Scolari nephew has just tragically died in a car accident. RIP
Kitchandro Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 How many England fans are going? Do we expect stadiums to be empty for England matches as they most probably will be for the others?

The reason I've picked him is because he had no trouble nearly matching Falcao's goalscoring record when he came in for him at Porto - so why can't he do the same for Colombia? I've lost faith anyway. I think out of the three this is the one I'm least confident in. in the latest of pele's years of wisdom he thinks brazil, argentina, spain and germany will do well. Every little helps (in terms of England winning the whole thing)

It's not like our media won't try and embarrass them all anyway.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 keep the faith, I'm gonna have so much fun laughing at you lot Odd response especially considering most people know we wont get a point and it's just a marketing ploy, least we still have the Ashes tho
Wycombe Fox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 My World Cup starts today with 'Mike Bassett; England Manager'
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Odd response especially considering most people know we wont get a point and it's just a marketing ploy, least we still have the Ashes tho I'm afraid even if you know you're shit it's still going to be funny.
OzFox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Mate of mine is working on the World Cup for SBS. They said to him "We want you to edit all the Australia stuff" He replied "So I'm only working for two weeks then?" They've got a good coach, they'll be well organised, hard working etc. so I don't reckon they'll get completely thrashed....

Its not even that. You only have to look at his record to make an educated guess. According to a lot of people on here, you can only have a valid opinion on a foreign player if you watch every game he plays. I enjoy watching foreign football as much as i do English so it annoys me that people who display a wider knoewledge of the game get shot down and autonatically put in this Fifa group. Hell, its almost like if you're goo on Fifa then youre shit in person. But I can see Adrian Ramos having a better tournament. Columbia will score goals.
kingcarr21 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Cant wait to get home tomorrow. Crack open a beer and watch the opening ceremony then Croatia throw a spanner in the works and get a result against Brazil

I said there will be an exception, but tell me who the people are on here who will have watched Porto over 10 times last season?
AKCJ Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 I said there will be an exception, but tell me who the people are on here who will have watched Porto over 10 times last season? I dont know who, because im not them, but I wouldnt be surprised if a good 5-10 people watch their games. That's including Champions League. I know that probably a lot of people probably do get their information from Fifa and Football Manager. It just annoys me when players that are good on Fifa are automatically deemed shit and anyone who thinks they're good are on a bandwagon, despite the fact that 9 times out of 10 they are actually good in real life.

These players are good in real life, that's why they're so good on FIFA. And I think that's the point, people take it for gospel that because these players are good on FIFA they then go about saying this that and the other without really knowing anything else about the player.

Which is a fair point, but it annoys me that people get shot down for actually knowing a player. Some people assume that everyobody gets their knowledge from computer games and that's obvioulsy not true.

If you give a shit what trolls on the Internet think of your football knowledge then you need serious words with yourself.
