Manwell Pablo Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I really thought England's first game was on tge friday! Knew it was Saturday as we were originally supposed to be playing at 2am.
foxfanazer Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Knew it was Saturday as we were originally supposed to be playing at 2am.Yeah I thought it was originally 2am saturday but then got out back 3 hours. Glad I didn't book the Friday night off work now
ousefox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27658211 Hodgson tells players to sing national anthem - bit of an odd thing for him to come out with. Don't how it helps anything. It could be a bit more understandable if the song was more to do with having pride in the country. I certainly woudn't sing it as long as we have that song and lyrics.
Ric Flair Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I know i'm getting ahead of myself but the potential of England vs Brazil in the quarter finals on July 5th at the same time as The Libertines in Hyde Park has left me in a right conundrum, Doherty can bollocks if he thinks they ain't showing it.

Ever since day 1 he's told them to sing the national anthem.

kingfox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Might stick £1 on Colombia to win tomorrow. Feeling it big time.
Dan Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 You'll be pleased to hear I'm getting on a plane to Finland at 18:45 on that day. SALAAAAAAAAAAD I know I had no idea expectations were that kind of level in Argentina Not a single team stands out for me as being favourites. Brazil should be the outstanding favourites but that squad really is so disappointing, if it wasn't for home soil I'd be ranking literally about 6/7 teams above them. Spain's squad is absolutely terrific, I wouldn't be stunned if they won it yet again.
ScouseFox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Might stick £1 on Colombia to win tomorrow. Feeling it big time. full squad just announced and they're finally admitting falcao is injured. nightmare.
Swarles Barkley Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Rumours that falcao is out of the world cup. Big blow for the tournament as a whole
kingfox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Falcao confirmed injured. Definitely a big blow, but this Colombia squad still looks very very decent. Hopefully Jackson Martinez, Adrian Ramos & Carlos Bacca can step up, all had good season's with their clubs.
Grandad. Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Might stick £1 on Colombia to win tomorrow. Feeling it big time. Give me the £1, i'll give you odds of 1,000/1?
MC Prussian Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Rumours that falcao is out of the world cup. Big blow for the tournament as a whole Big blow for Colombia, in particular. Their chances of progressing to the next stage just dropped by 50%. Yes, I'm also sort of sad he can't make it now, but the tournament will cope just fine without him.
Bert Posted 4 June 2014 Author Posted 4 June 2014 Just been reading the FFT World Cup edition at work. Next weekend will be immense. From 5pm Friday until 11pm Sunday there will be ten games. And I'm gonna watch them all. Of course, England's group play and Spain v Holland is on the Friday night at 8pm too. 8 days to go!

I'd like to think I'm going to watch them all but the 2am Ivory Coast vs Japan job is going to be a challenge given England are playing at 11. I can see me slumped on my sofa covered in Dona meat, select salad and mint yogurt sauce come HT.

Gonna watch the first two games in home then go out for the England game, come home in time for the last game. Although I do suspect many people will be blotto before the England game kicks off.
Grandad. Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 I finish work at 5 on the Saturday, nip home for a shower and a change of shirt then back out. When we have beaten Italy I can see myself heading into town, no chance of me seeing Ivory Coast v Japan.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Didn't even know there was a game after us, thought FIFA knew our game was the showpiece event of the weekend hence the 11 o'clock kick off. I'm so excited for next week. Saturday is going to be ridiculous.

I've actually debated staying in entirely tbh.

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Jonjoe Shelvey is our key man in a 5 man midfield with Carrick as anchor and Rooney upfront alone. He is better than Wilshire, who has got to be the most overated England player ever. Hart Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines Carrick Townsend, Gerrard, Shelvey, Chamberlain Rooney Reading at the start of this thread some of the shouts for the England squad are hilarious! Zaha and this particular shout of Shelvey to start have to be the highlights for me
Lionator Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 Yeah I am slightly worried about that, town will be a complete disgrace next Saturday. I've actually debated staying in entirely tbh. It was bad enough for the Froch fight last Saturday.
