AdamN Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 I've had a fiver on Dzeko, Jackson Martinez & Lukaku to be their nation's respective top scorers in the world cup. 30/1 for a treble. Is it just me or are they seriously good odds? Not a bad shout at all. There's quite a few combinations like that, all giving decent odds. Gone for a fiver on each of: Edin Džeko / Jackson MartÃnez / Romelu Lukaku @ 31/1 Alexis Sánchez / Mario Mandžukić / Karim Benzema @ 30/1 Samuel Eto'o / Daniel Sturridge / Diego Costa @ 52/1 Aleksandr Kerzhakov / Thomas Müller / Lionel Messi @ 45/1 And just for a laugh I've gone for one from each group: Mandžukić Sánchez MartÃnez Balotelli Benzema Džeko Müller Kerzhakov @ 16,752/1 You never know...
AdamN Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 Some of them are absolutely ridiculously tempting. You can mix and match with those combinations and still get similar odds. I find it hard to believe that you can stick 20/30 similar bets on and end up with your money back if just one of them comes in. Messi/Sánchez/Dempsey, Drogba/Benzema/Eto'o, Müller/Diego Costa/Suarez, etc. Surely at least one of them has got to come in?!
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 A lot of sides have looked disappointing in the warm ups, but I've got to say France have been have looked quality in two out of the three, watching them tear Jamaica apart at the moment.
Lionator Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 A lot of sides have looked disappointing in the warm ups, but I've got to say France have been have looked quality in two out of the three, watching them tear Jamaica apart at the moment. Nasri wasn't picked for a reason. Minimal disruption and this team could go a long way.
Haydos Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 That's my only worry. I'm confident in Dzeko and you've got to fancy Martinez now that Falcao's injured - he did a very decent job replacing Falcao at Porto. Belgium is the one I'm least confident in. Why Jackson Martinez? I don't know much about him/Colombia but I looked at their last 5 games and I think he's played about half an hour altogether.
kingcarr21 Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Not this again.. Was more of a social thing to be honest, two friends posted and went to a lot of Leicester games (Tommeh and Tevez), I started tagging along with them to games home and away, they were posters on here, so I did, I felt I could come and have an opinion on here, I was spending my money on LCFC after all, cheered and even cried when Leicester got relegated, was mascot for Leicester in 97.. But Liverpool were and always will be my team, I never once hid that on here! Made a lot of friends on here personally, went to more away games with them, Ched, Bert, Maybes, Wilksey, Joe., LD3, C-Man, Potter3, Miquel and Tilley, played for FoxesTalk FC in games against other forums, against one another in tournaments and O21s v U21s, had sociable drinks many a time with Sparky, RobboFox, Lisa, Raj, Kokopops, Fez, Smuts, Finners, Manwell, Cobbo, Singh and many others. So to be honest I think I deserve to be posting on here, never once hid that I'm a Liverpool fan, been to a lot of Leicester games, done a lot for this forum in a sense in representing them and been around here for 6 years. Yet there seems to be a lot of people unable to accept that, I've never once changed my style of posting either, I don't think I ever will, bollocks to that. This post will probably get deleted, Mark. clearly has an issue with me, hence him permanently banning my Uncle Albert account. But to answer your original question, this is a fantastic forum, its better than most Liverpool ones, it's a lot more active. Seriously if you think back, I have never once gone on the wind up in the Leicester section, I try to give a valid opinion on things in there, people just don't like the fact I support Liverpool and take offence to people slating my club.. Imagine if I did that to you lot? But I don't, even when Leicester have been shit in a game or a player has been horrific, I don't go in there and slate your team/players, not my style. Yet people take offence when I defend my club and players. Anyway, if this is a suggestion for all people who have a problem with me posting on here, stick me on ignore, I couldn't care less. It might be a good idea to save this post somewhere so you can paste it everytime someone asks you the same question. One more thing... Fvck off back to Liverpool forums you scouse ****
Grandad. Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Why Jackson Martinez? I don't know much about him/Colombia but I looked at their last 5 games and I think he's played about half an hour altogether. Another case of 'he's class on FIFA' which automatically makes him brilliant in real life.. A bit like the Belgium national side.
Jimothy Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 I've only gone and pulled Spain out if the work sweepstake that I'm organising! Honestly nothing dodgy, just pure luck.

Just going on the fact he's got 46 in 60 for Porto and was the league's top scorer last season. Hardly the wildest bet there's ever been, but unfortunately there's always going to be a risk with predicting starting XIs. We don't even know England's yet.

Has he been injured but is still expected to start? He's been on the bench for some of their matches but not come on, started once but didn't score. Without knowing the situation it's awkward but he doesn't appear to be first choice for whatever reason.

Looks like Gutiérrez is the most likely candidate to start, so perhaps a cover bet may be in order.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 He was obviously unaware of why he posts here, it seemed to be a genuine question without any malice. Not really bothered he shouldn't have to answer that question every other week.
AKCJ Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27769120 Lets hope this isnt too serious.
Ric Flair Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27769120 Lets hope this isnt too serious. He'll be sound. It's also a reason we mustn't go too defensive from the off because if Stevie can only last 70 mins and we have to replace him with Lamps or Wilshere then that's 1 sub already used which wouldn't help us try and chase a game if we needed to.
One Legged Beaver Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Is it just me, or are the majority of the top sides weaker than usual? I'm of that opinion as well, I don't know who I'd predict to win it just because no one stands out as being particularly strong.

That's a bit weird considering I don't play FIFA anymore. Neymar's injured himself. Unknown how long he'll be out for. Surely not?
