Webbo Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Man Utd got lucky. Some people make out like they've won title after title spending no money. How is what they have done and what Man City done any different, really? The only difference is Man Utd are naturally a bi club and will reap the benefits of the modern era easier. They're all the same to me, it's all based on money. Chelsea and Man Utd both have tossers for fans, that's why I like to see them both lose. So back to your earlier comment about it being cringeworthy to want them to lose, that's bollocks. They have a couple of cvntish fanbases and I hate some of the players on both teams. That's far more significant than rich owners being in control of them, which is really not the fault of any fanbase, is it? I don't think Chelsea deserve to be hated because they have Abramovich, they deserve to be hated because they support Abramovich's hire and fire policy, they're impatient, hugely ignorant about most football matters, and worship players like John Terry. United it's similar. Hate their fans, hate their players, hated Fergie as a bloke. Spot on.
Guest ttfn Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I feel sorry for Moyes (to the extent that you can feel sorry for somebody with a job like his). That United squad is absolutely crap. Their performances in the first 10 games of last season were embarrassing too, but under Ferguson they had that aura about them which won them games.

Well he had a chance to sign world class players but missed out on them all, every other team that are challenging United have strengthened while United wasted 27 million on Fellaini. The PL this season is a lot stronger than it was last season, last season was one of the weakest, I don't feel sorry for him at all. He won nothing at Everton for 11 years that is a poor record. I can see Martinez achieving far more than Moyes managed at Everton.
steveherbe Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 This is lovely, Newc fans are singing the Knockaert song, obviously with one of their players names, and taunting Moyes with 'you're getting sacked in the morning'. Welcome to normality Mancs.

Welcome to normality Mancs. They sing it about Cabaye and I think they sang it first.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Moyes was an insanely overrated manager before taking the post, I knew it would end in tears. I don't understand the thought process of giving Moyes the biggest job in the country, it's truly laughable.
Kitchandro Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Man Utd were no richer than any other team when they first started winning things under Fergie. They only 'got lucky' by winning stuff as money came into football. They 'got lucky' though by having a decent manager with some foresight and was able to gel a team together. Had fergie had taken over any other club instead of man utd they'd have probably had equal success. Man City and Chelsea have just had a bloke throw million after million at them. Ita really not that hard to understand. So yeh, they got lucky like Man City and Chelsea did. No difference then. If United's era had been when it was Liverpool's era they might have ended up like Liverpool now. If Man City had been in the 2nd tier they wouldn't have been taken over at that time. All the money that came in is based on luck and in no way reflects the actual essence of the club. The fans do more than anything - I've never been bothered by Man City fans but Man U and Chelsea fans have always been cvnts. As for today fantastic

Guest Bilo Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I was amazed they didn't go in for Guardiola before Bayern. Encourages the right type of football, managed one of the biggest sides in Europe to domination of their domestic game, likes to build up players from the youth systems and seemingly non-controversial and thoroughly respected in the game.
ScouseFox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Moyes deffo cries himself to sleep each an every night.
Donut Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Its a heck of an act to follow Sir Alex but they must be in it for the long haul because he is on a huge contract. Circumstances havent really helped Moyes either
Father Ted Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I absolutely love their downfall! Pretty much the majority of my mates support United (makes sense as we're all roughly 19/20 years old so the standard team to glory hunt at the time) and they all hate Leicester with a passion and love to rub it in to my face every time United win and Leicester lose. They love stating the fact about how 'shit' Leicester are. It's all getting dished back out now and none of them like it. In the words of Kevin Keegan, 'I would love it' if they do a Leeds. Moyes the Messiah!
Fox92 Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Was listening to 5live earlier and totally agreed with what they were saying. Moyes walked into a tough job. United need a new midfield, as well as players like Ferdinand replacing now... The £27million he spent on Fellaini was ridiculous imo, but Ferguson has left him with an 'average' squad (using that term loose again). Compare that to the solid base that Moyes left Martinez at Everton.
Stadt Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Man U need: 2 x quality centre backs 1 x quality right back 1 x quality winger 1 x quality attacking midfielder
steveherbe Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Man U need: 2 x quality centre backs 1 x quality right back 1 x quality winger 1 x quality attacking midfielder Morgan, Moore, Knockaert, King - sorted!
Stadt Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Morgan, Moore, Knockaert, King - sorted!I said quality, they're dreadful - how are we even 3rd with these players?
steveherbe Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I said quality, they're dreadful - how are we even 3rd with these players?Exactly - I think I was doing irony
The Year Of The Fox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I said quality, they're dreadful - how are we even 3rd with these players? 'Dreadful' ?? Go to the 3rd Round Cup draw thread and watch the Stoke video. You don't realise how good we currently have it.
Jimothy Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Man U need: 2 x quality centre backs 1 x quality right back 1 x quality winger 1 x quality attacking midfielder Think they need a central midfielder, to play where Jones/Cleverley have been. Winger is the other priority. They have Kagawa in the attacking midfield role, but he's bring criminally under used. Right back and centre back would be useful but they should be sorting out the other two areas first.
Stadt Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 'Dreadful' ?? Go to the 3rd Round Cup draw thread and watch the Stoke video. You don't realise how good we currently have it. I was joking Of course they aren't dreadful

z-layrex Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Seeing a Man U fan on a forum rant the other week, spouting off along the lines of "THIS CANNOT HAPPEN TO US. WE ARE ****ING MANCHESTER UNITED THE BIGGEST CLUB IN THE WORLD" made me realise just how much they need a few seasons like this. It will be good for all of them.

Exactly what I thought when I was watching that video! Our team was seriously poor, and I never want to be in that position again. Relegation was eventually coming; our team was so poor for 3 or 4 years between relegation from the Premier League and relegation from the Championship.
