johnny the fox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Manu V everton, funny to see loads of empty seats well before the end, at Old Trafford .. they are not used to being "normal" fans.
ADK Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Would be hilarious if Man U fail to qualify for Europe.
Fox92 Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I think they'll qualify for Europe, just not sure about them winning the league atm. Got nothing against United, just some of the fans that never went to games used to get on my nerves.
Guest shearfox Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 They have never experienced this before in the premier league, it is a very high possibility that United will not be playing Champions League football next season
Alf Bentley Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Would be lovely to swap places with them..... Can't see them falling quite that low, though I'm old enough to remember Man U getting relegated (1974 or 1975, was it?). As things stand, though, I can't see them finishing above any of Arsenal, Chelsea or Man City....just takes Liverpool or someone else to continue to have a decent season and they could easily be out of next year's Champion's League, though probably still in the UEFA Europa League [showing my age!]. Going to be interesting to see how the fans and the club react to Moyes, if things carry on as they are...
GingerrrFox Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I've never really understood why other teams apart from Liverpool/Leeds/Manchester City have so much hatred for Manchester United. It's not even like their fans are that big headed about the fact they have been the best team on a consistent basis for the past 20 years. People blurt on about teams being TinPot but I actually think having a hatred for a team and set of fans that genuinely don't give a shit back is TinPot. I envy the fact that Manchester United are so good and that their fans have it easy 90% of the time, but for fans of clubs that have no rivalry with them to say they hate them is pretty sad to be honest. I can't stand for instance when people start cheering at the end of our home games when United have had a shit result but don't do the same for Chelsea (who we have a mutual hatred with).

We have a mutual hatred with Chelsea? Because they sing "and Leicester?"(to which I rarely, if ever hear them say that when I hear them sing that chant)
Tom17LCFC Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Would have loved to have been in that Everton end tonight.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 The title is definitely out of the question...although write them off at your peril I suppose. SAF is arguably the greatest club manager of all time. He's at least been at the helm of the biggest football club, winning countless trophies over the course of 25+ years. It's an almost impossible act to follow, particularly when it's now more obvious than ever that SAF pulled many average Man U teams over the line. It baffles me that the club allowed both Gill and SAF to leave at the same time, that they hired someone as in-experienced as Woodward and that they spent pretty much £0, in a summer in which Man City and Chelsea got new managers, along with them and Spurs spending and buying so much quality. That on top of the fact that Man U's team has been slowly deteriorating over the last few years, apart from RVP's arrival. You'd of thought they would have wanted to support Moyes.
Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I can't believe they let Fergie appoint the new manager, even more so when its clear he was just picking his Scottish mate. The board are paid millions to make these decisions and to go out and attract the best in the business for the company, what an incredible shirk of their responsibilities under the guise of "giving respect" to Fergie.
ozleicester Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 20/1 for Utd to win the league, must be worth a lazy fiver

Got nothing against United, just some of the fans that never went to games used to get on my nerves. Exactly the same as Liverpool fans then! I know about 4 Man Utd fans around Coalville and one has a ST the others have been a few times a season. I know about 7 Liverpool fans and genuinely not one has been to see them play

This precisely. They happened to get good at a time when money started playing a huge part in football. They'd win something and get more money than the other clubs, the same the season after that and so on. SAF may be a bit of a knob but he still brought in the class of 92' whilst maintaining their winning streak. Yet Liverpool and moreso Chelsea and Man City have just had money injected in them and have got 'good' down to the luck of having an investor. How many English players have these clubs brought through recently? Man Utd got equally as good/better doing it the right way.

People So really, they were just as lucky as the other teams, like Chelsea or Man City - they just happened to be the team on top when the money started coming in. Whether the money comes from an investor or from Sky doesn't make much different in my eyes.

Whether the money comes from an investor or from Sky doesn't make much different in my eyes. To a degree you're right though Sky's money was up for grabs to the team who won the league. It just so happened that fergie was buioding a great side at the time with probably as much financial backing as any other side in the league at the time. Leeds and Blackburn won the league before and after Man U but never capitalised on it despite Walkers financial clout so agai- credit to fergie for doing what others couldn't/didn't
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Anyone remember the Argentina nonsense with their fans circa 1998/99? That, the way they treated referees and the thousands of glory supporters around the country is what made me want Manchester United to lose.

Erm....yes it is. Have you actually met one? Most pig headed self indulgent bunch of twats in the country. And there's a lot of competition for that. Chelsea run them close, mind.
danny. Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 @ anyone who actually hates a group of other humans purely because they follow a different regional set of 11 men kicking a ball around on a field.
Danizen Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 It might knock some humility into all the glory supporting cvnts...or they might just whine and bitch about all the decisions that go against them even harder than they did before convinced that there is a worldwide conspiracy against Man U. Although that might just be the Man U fans that I know.

That, the way they treated referees and the thousands of glory supporters around the country is what made me want Manchester United to lose. This, I agree with every word. I remember being in the kop at filbo not long after the World Cup and hearing them chant Argentina Argentina set up a hatred from my point of view that I have never got over.
Beliall Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I only know one utd fan, he goes to games occasionaly and has never been big headed about how good they are ( when they were) and isnt to bothered about the current situation. I would imagine the entire inside of utd is fergie built, his influence will be everywhere and the players will miss him. that side was suspected of being less good than they seem and now its clear that SAF is an even better manger than we thought. I think moyes deserves as much time as possible. even if that means europa league next year.
Alf Bentley Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Anyone remember the Argentina nonsense with their fans circa 1998/99? I must have missed that. What happened?
