Kagiso Dikgacoi - Signs For Cardiff

Decent squad player, but nothing better than what we've got. I really hope Nigel has some genuine quality in mind.

Starting the think he's not being given much choice.

NP is probably just filling the squad out when solid additions for free before he uses any budget he has been given to buy in players at a later date. I'm not worried on that front and hunk we will see some £3-6mil signs this summer but later on.

What worries me with the Dikgacoi signing is that while he is a solid enough player we already have 4 central midfielders who work well and are of equal if not better quality than Dikgacoi. If we did sign Dikgacoi we would have 5 and unlikely to add any more central midfielders. It begs the question is Dikgacoi the kind and scale if improvement we are looking for. I don't know about anyone else but imo whilst I would be satisfied with this guy and think he could do a job we could probably do a bit better, especially looking at the names we've already been linked with.

I am not sure but what John Percy alluded to us having a 10m transfer budget seems atm in time as spot on.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leicester-city/10810744/Leicester-City-transfer-news-and-rumours-for-summer-2014.html

Budget: £10m. Leicester City have insisted they will not be big spenders as they prepare for the Premier League, focusing on their previous policy of targeting young players for relatively low wages. Nigel Pearson may seek proven experience but will not break the bank.

Strategy: Leicester will operate under a strict £30,000-a-week wage ceiling and chief scout Steve Walsh's input will be vital. Walsh has proven pivotal in discovering the likes of Anthony Knockaert and Riyad Mahrez and will be asked to deliver again.

Who calls the shots? Pearson is fortunate to work under a board that leave him to it so he is responsible for transfers. Terry Robinson, the director of football, will deal with contracts and wages but player recruitment will rest with the management staff.

Best case: Leicester discover another hidden gem like wingers Knockaert and Mahrez. Pearson is happy to work under the radar and will not gamble by spending big money, regardless of promotion to the Premier League.

Worst case: Leicester are in talks with a number of players over contracts and the delay has frustrated many of the squad. Robinson needs to sort out these situations swiftly to avoid any unnecessary disruption.

Likely to leave: Chris Wood, Lloyd Dyer, Andy King, Sean St Ledger (lef)

On the wanted list: Nick Powell, Leonardo Ulloa ( 3 bids rejected), Aaron Cresswell.

Massively debatable if King or Hammond are of that quality, we suffer if DD or MJ are ever out.

I wait for your every word Babby. Once in a while you do get it right. Is this luck I wonder or a smattering of incisive judgement.

Well our fcukin owner should keep his gob shut then. Also there is money there otherwise we wouldn't bid £5 million for toss like Ulloa.

I think this shall be my standard response to you from now on...

We will not make top two with Pearson and if we get to the play-offs, promotion will still be a long shot, when most opposition managers have more idea than Pearson.

For those who do not understand what I am saying.

When I say Pearson must go whether we get promoted or not actually means that I believe Pearson must be sacked whether we get promoted or not.

The reason being is, as so many now seem to realise, he is tactically inept.

£5m is one thing, people seem to expect us to spend about £30m.

Agreed. I was pushing it slightly with that statement. My point being would Dikgacoi solve that problem should James or Drinky be out. I'm not so sure. Whilst he would be a steely addition Drinky/James and Dikgacoi could not be much better than Drinky/James and King or Hammond.

As if that was the decisive criteria. lol

PLEASE GOD DO NOT LET US SIGN DIKGACOI, think we need to remind people we are now a premier league club!!! Would be a average signing for a championship team imo

You do know he played in a team that stayed up last year don't you... IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE.

He was one of the better players in a side that finished 11th in the Premiership. What are you on about.

Rookie mistake XLM. Apparently playing in the Premier League is no indication that you are good enough to play in the Premier League.

So far this Summer I have learnt that Curtis Davis, Marc Albrighton, Frazier Campbell, Matty Fryatt, David Nugent, and now DikGako are "NOT GOOD ENOUGH" for the Premier League. I'm hoping to have a whole team of them soon... just need a keeper.

Several points to note.

1) 'Apparently playing in the premier league is no indication that you're good enough to play'. Well what else is? Success in league 2? A specific brand of deodorant used? If he was good enough to play in a team that finished 11th, that is perhaps the most accurate indicator that he is good enough.

2) 'You've learnt that those players aren't good enough'? How so? What's the basis for this conclusion?

3) If that's your opinion of these players, why on earth would you want a whole team of them? Unless that was sarcasm. I plan on learning that this summer.

Babby, you are absolutely right to point out that I wanted Pearson sacked last season.

Obviously he lulled me into a false sense of judgement by only winning three of our last seventeen matches last season. You are either clairvoyant, or knew that Pearson actually did that on purpose. A bit shameful of Pearson to do that to me as a loyal supporter though.

On the other hand, he may actually have discovered that sitting in the stand gives you a better chance of understanding what is happening on the pitch.

It is not a coincidence in my view that his tactical ability has improved beyond belief since that happened.

Pity it took him so long to realise it.

Hey Ho, he got there in the end, and I am as happy as anyone.

Shame your first comment was before that run... hey ho.

perhaps you could start a blog that Pearson could subscribe to...im sure he would welcome the expert opinion that you imply he struggles to obtain but that you can so obviously deliver

This would be a solid signing. I think despite his change of style, Pearson retains a pragmatism in the style of Tony Pulis. We'll need this against the stronger teams on the division.

Pearson is all about round pegs fitting round holes and Dikgacoi is the type of player we lack currently. A free transfer of this calibre can't be sniffed at.
