Burnley Post Match 1-1

If QPR beat us then I think the pressure needs to go onto Pearson. Dyche could do a good job for us.

You're talking about Pearson's job being under threat when we will be, at worst, two points off top spot and a point outside the automatics by close of play?

lol You're a joke

Has Don Goodman hacked your account?

I can't believe what I'm reading.

First half we just hoofed it and second we created nothing.

This is worryingly similar to what happened last season when we lost a couple. Revert to hitting it long.

Today wasn't good enough against a Burnley side who were there for the taking.

Thats not true in the slightest, we passed it around well at times and played some nice triangles that involved 4/5 players...

Give it a fvcking rest Sven mate, I sometimes wonder if you're watching a different game. We were average at very best on the whole... Half decent first half but not pulling up any trees

Not a bad performance, we were playing the side at the top of the league! Just need a finisher, GTF Vardy Schluup are just not goal scorers at this level, they offer different things but without Wood or Nugent I don't fancy us to get a goal.

I also thought Drinkwater and Mooe were poor today.

Positive De Laet got an hour in, give him another hour against the mancs and he should be back to fitness, Dyer looks dangerous every time the ball came near him, just need a decent striker. Danny Ings anyone?

We should have won. 2 points thrown away and 1 given to Burnley.

Poor finishing, a couple of defensive lapses.

They controlled the air until GTF came on and we dominated the ground.

Sadly we couldn't keep the ball on the ground for too long in the second half.

Knocky looked great n the first and then pulled little off in the second.

Dyer threatened.

Once. On the left touch line in front of me in the first half. We passed it beautifully. Otherwise it was just Schmeichel lumping it forward.

Ha ha ha... You can't believe what you are reading. Trust me I feel exactly the same reading yours.

We passed it around well first half, where the hell your long ball comment comes from I have no idea. There was some great play.

Second half we created nothing? What like Vardy missing a sitter of a header?

Burnley were there for the taking? How exactly do you come to that conclusion, seeing as we were the team having lost the last two.

I'm mystified as to how anybody could call that first half 'hoof and hope' football.

Intricate passing triangles, Knockaert and Dyer running them ragged, Drinkwater putting in some lovely passes and some work on the left side that genuinely wouldn't have looked out of place in any Premier League game you watch on MOTD tonight. We looked like promotion candidates in that half, and were far from abysmal in the second with some great work going on towards the end.

We certainly looked a better footballing side than Burnley for most of the game, although I'll admit they looked the more resilient and defensively solid of the two sides. Overall, it was actually a bloody good advert for Championship football.

"Half Decent" ha ha if we'd gone in winning 3-0 it would not have flattered us. Against the top team!!! And that's just "half decent".

They defended well, Ben Mee had a good game. I thought Liam Moore was well worth his recall. Definitely a penalty. Disappointed with the result but not a bad game.

Fair enough, people have their opinions, I have mine.

Schmeichel must have kicked the ball over the halfway line 25 times in the first half. He had no options other than to do that. Nobody came short for him. We're better than that.

I would of took a point before kick off. Cant believe some of the comments. Yeah we COULD of won it but so could of Burnley! Some people need to pull there heads out there arses, we just had back to back defeats then play top of table and get a draw. Im happy. Point or better at QPR and id be even more happy! COYB

Spot on Bilo, completely agree with your assessment of both teams.

Some utterly baffling comments on here.

Ok, not literally nothing.

I thought Burnley looked extremely ropey in the first half. We were well on top without playing particularly well ourselves.

You are a mardy arsehead sometimes. We should have won the game from the chances we created in the first half. Second half was very poor.

We barely strung two passes together. If you're happy with that, fine.

Burnley, to give them their due, knocked it around nicely after the break.

Haha what game were you at? Probably weren't at it at all...

Burnley's only tactic was hoof it long for Ings and Vokes to chase, and it was fairly effective. I saw better passing football from Huddersfield.

Today is disappointing, feels like a defeat imo. Because at Turf Moor, and next week at Loftus Road, I can only see us getting beat. We are a bag of wank away from home.

Burnley were robust, good attack line.  We were far superior in the first half, but we drifted and gifted them a goal.

Not impressed by Moore, his outplay was poor, constantly hoofed.

Vardy is our Akinbiyi, gives 1000% but doesn't have the talent for this division.

Overall we were wasteful, often got into really good positions but never capitilised

He always does that in every game for me. To focus on that and say that's indicative of what we did I find very harsh on us. We had done lovely passing moves that created chances.

Other than the goal (two dreadful misses by DD and Moore) a bad back pass from RDL, and the glancer off the post I honestly can't remember anything else from them.

Pretty dominant throughout, barring spell after halftime.

Created enough chances to win 3 games, despite Burnley's excellent closing down & defending.... So, so frustrating not to run out winners after conceding yet another soft goal.

Still right up there though, far far better than almost everyone thought. Need to cut out mistakes at the back & get someone who can score all these chances.

That's not even true. I noted Kasper waving off a player who had dropped back for the short ball numerous times. The option was there, but for whatever reason Kasper always played it long.

This. As much as I think we were poor today we are a good 10 pts ahead of where I thought we'd be.
