Stadt Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 And he actually wants to work hard for the team. (and to earn the money for his pies.) yes.
notnow john Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Can't think of a fatter player that's played for us!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 He was alright, he actually has a bit if a presence as opposed to the thoughtless Nugent. Thoughtless? What does that even mean when used in contrast to the phrase "has a bit of a presence"?
Tielemans63 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I've heard that if he doesn't get a new contract here then Harlequins are very interested in him.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Can't think of a fatter player that's played for us! Kevin Pressman, Michael Johnson.
Finn Claw II Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Presumably he was bought in as an older head and to help Vardy and Wood with their link up play. I thought he looked decent today I would love to see him slim down and be able to put in more than 20 minutes.
Leicesterpool Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 To be honest he too knackered and couldn't be bothered, he's a good lad but it's clear he's playing two levels too high!
Ian W LCFC Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I thought he looked very good when he came on today. His first touch and ball control is excellent. If only he was a little quicker.
Simonb Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I thought he did well... created what would have been a great attack and the james got yhe ball stuck in his feet n it broke down
Stadt Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Thoughtless? What does that even mean when used in contrast to the phrase "has a bit of a presence"?Nugent's positioning is quite poor and he doesn't usually find space between the defenders whereas GTF does and links up well.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 He looked decent today IMO. First time I've seen him enough to be impressed
Sharpe's Fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 More of a player to come on when we're winning to see the game out, like at Watford. You can't blame him when our only forward options on the bench are him and a poor left back.
Jace Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 The bloke always has a fantastic touch and makes some of the most intelligent passes I see from a Leicester player in recent years I'm not surprised at 1 or 2 of the stupid comments though
Solihullfox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I think the comments about him not being very good tell you everything about how some are completely thick when it comes to trying to understand one footballer against another. The guy has played virtually bugger all football but his first touch is superb, he holds the ball well, he takes a moment to think before passing and consequently finds another blue shirt, makes intelligent runs and when he got his only chance in the box he managed to direct a lovely shot that was well and truly on target and would have been in other than for a great block. At the risk of upsetting someone, if you know feck all about football then don't bother posting or wasting our time with your worthless opinions. Dear lord !

I bet the fans who think he is useless are the same fans who hope Berbatov will sign for us January

And I also know that GTF wont score enough goals for the club, he's well overweight and miles past his best days. Im also amazed that City fans can be so easily pleased. We have had some wonderful strikers at our club. GTF is at best, average and I'm surprised he's near a side going for promotion.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I bet the fans who think he is useless are the same fans who hope Berbatov will sign for us January To liken GTF to Berbatov is frankly, ridiculous. You dont half come out with some guff buddy!

Many probably felt the same about Ian Marshall in he Premiership he looked too grey and overweight but he was still good enough to score past the likes of Peter Schmeichel
Stadt Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 GTF isn't overweight. He might look it but I don't think he'd be anywhere near the first team if he was.
DennisNedry Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 GTF showed he has a good footballing brain and a good first touch today. He also had a a good first time sidefoot shot that was going in before a defender blocked it. Nugent was offering bugger all so it was worth a go.
Grewks Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 He's average... nice touch, lays it off ok. We're Leicester City. We're aiming for promotion. We can do better than GTF. I absolutely believe this. Could say the same thing about all our strikers. Vardy - He's average.....nice work rate, closes down defenders ok. Terrible touch, and lacks a lot of quality. Nugent - He's average, nice work rate, closed down defenders ok. Only takes 1 chance in 10, famous for missing a lot of chances. We're Leicester City. We're aiming for promotion. We can do better than Vardy and Nugent. I absolutely believe this.
Jace Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 To liken GTF to Berbatov is frankly, ridiculous. You dont half come out with some guff buddy! To be fair I didn't mean that to sound like a comparison but I can appreciate it probably did, I admit Berbatov is a far superior player to GTF, my comment was more aimed at the iractic behaviour that fans believe that GTF regularly makes poor passes along with also believing that Betbatov will join us when we can't even financially commit to our own players at he moment
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 GTF isn't overweight. He might look it but I don't think he'd be anywhere near the first team if he was. Im sorry, but bulges in the shirt were pretty apparent today buddy! Listen, don't get me wrong, I have nowt against the bloke. I just know we could do better. It's about time we had a striker at the club who were really pushing Nugent and Vardy. Wood is too injury prone, Schlupp doesn't seem to be particularly favoured. So GTF is the next in line. We need better.

So GTF is the next in line. We need better. we need a striker and a winger in jan. We can cope without 1 of dyer, knocky and de laet. But sheffield wednesday showed us that when we are missing 2 (when knocky went off) we lack a lot of our attacking threat. We should go into the jan window with intent, and sign a big named forward like cardiff did with Campbell. With the amount of chances we create, we should have at least one 20 goal a season striker every year. Frankly, Nuge and vardy are not up to the job, neither of em.
