He literally had to play Lloyd in with one of the most simple balls you'll see, and then he stands offside for another chance. Then the one time he actually does turn he plays a terrible ball for Lloyd. He has no footballing brain whatsoever. Infuriating to watch

What would happen is a senior player showing a younger promising player how to work the position seeing as he knows the game. Tutoring goes on in all sport, I don't know what is difficult to understand about it.

Everyone knows I always like to back the club's players. And Schlupp is no different. You don't get scouted or a chance to train with Utd just on the off-chance. He came on with what, 10-15 minutes to go, if that? Not every player can immediately come in to the side and make a huge impact. It's in our best interests that we don't sell or release. Especially with Waghorn likely to go. Also, why do threads like this have to be made so soon after a win . Why can no-one just enjoy the 3 points and immediately look for something to pick on?! Not saying don't make the point at all, but why so soon after a hard-fought victory?! Because he came on and was very wasteful in possession, giving QPR numerous chances to lump the ball into our box.

Daz93 Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 I would say he just needs some time in the starting XI - whether that be here or elsewhere. He's hardly going to develop coming on for 20 minute cameos. His raw pace and strength means he's got a shot at being a decent forward, he just needs to find some regular football where he can make an impact.

He's shown loads of ability over the last couple of years imo, and I think NP knows best anyway. This place is a joke sometimes - beat top of the league away from home then jump on here to single out an academy product who played about 10% of the game!! Crazy.

Schlupp has made cameos at most this season - why is there an over-reaction to 'sell or release' from the topic-starting post? He's young, he's inexperienced. Sometimes fans expect too much from our players too soon. They want everything to be perfect right away.

So we know from today that when we want someone to hold the ball up and make sure we keep possession then Schlupp might not be the number one choice, but I still think he has something to offer in certain games. He is quick, quite strong, and defenders don't like playing against him. Against Man City he managed to beat a player one-on-one on more than one occasion. Bit too early to discard him just yet.
