Don't like to be negative but have to say he was woeful and looked disenterested.

I can accept losing the ball but then to stand there with his head down and not chase back trying to win the ball back isn't acceptable.

I agree with Crinkly's assessment and think he may well come good in time.

But what puzzles me is what others have pointed out - when he comes on for the last 15mins or so and we need to hold onto a lead, where his main job is to help run down the clock and take the sting out of the opposition.  The things he needs to do are so well understood and simple

 - make himself available as an outlet

 - hold up the ball

 - don't give away possession

 - for those 15 mins or so, use your youth, pace and enthusiasm to chase all over to harry the opposition

He rarely manages to do those things.  Hard to believe that those aren't exactly Nige's instructions to him when he sends him on, and hard to see why he doesn't carry them out.

We need to get off of his back. Do people know how hard it is for a striker to come on with 15 minutes to go, when all you're doing is soaking up pressure and playing on the break?

Had his passing been better we'd perhaps have scored at least one more goal. They were relatively easy passes to make too. We needed some pace up front when it was Nuge and GTF up front. I'd have definitely put waghorn on instead. At least hes match fit. Schlupp did hassle their back four which was exactly what was needed, but he just couldnt sustain it. Or couldn't be bothered. Despite not being match fit hes still a young professional athlete that had one main job to do for a 15 minute spell- which although it didn't cost us, he still failed to do.

Looked decent against man city.

but did himself no favours today. Looked ****ed about 5 mins after he came on. Showed no desire to close down and had 2 decent chances to play lloyd in and ****ed both passes up.

hardly playing his way into contention on that evidence.

wouldn't write him off yet but surely he knows he must take his chances if he wants to play up front.

I think that he is a great young talent. If Konchesky had gone in the Summer he would be a regular in the team. Pace and can cross the ball well.

You need a bit more than pace and the ability to cross the ball to be a good steady left back. Where Konchesky lacks pace he makes up with with good positional sense, something where if you've seen games with Schlupp playing he lacks.

I don't think he'll be very good either at left back or striker but with good management and the right coaching he could be turned into a decent left winger.

If he goes out on loan who would you have a go at then. How about Konchesky, Drinkwater, Marcin, Nugent at this rate we will have no-one left at the club, perhaps that is what some of you want.

Not enough composure or a good enough shot to be a striker for me. Though I see potential as a LB. Very useful to have him in the squad with the level of cover he gives us.

Well done today Jeff for scoring and sticking 2 fingers up to me and a few other people today.

Keep it up though lad, cus I'm still not convinced.

He lacks match practice, showed today he is still capable...

The guy is pure skill just needs to get the mental level to the same postcode and he'll be an excellent Prem player.

I got shot down when I said he did well at QPR, he's came on and didn't stop running again. I like Jeff

You got shot down because he was shit at QPR.

Fairplay to him, he's responded well today, hope he kicks on now.

I went on the Foxes coach to Rotherham and I've never doubted him from that day onwards.

The fans were on his back today because he didn't show the energy levels that Nugent did.

Bet that's fvcked with a few FoxesTalkers lol

Im glad for the lad. I think there's more to come from him if he thinks about his game a little more. And if he gets opportunities like he did today.

I am in my fifties not relevant of course.Jeff has a great chance in the game ball sticks, strong and fast rides a tackle, reminds me of milner and glen Johnson.Possible prem standard player for us if it happens.Good effort today bit surprised james didn't have a bit to do as he has looked the most comfortable at the higher level,Should be in for Stoke stick to 442 wide game nothing to fear
