Jeff schlupp on his way out?

Recommended Posts

Jeff hasn't been the same since his trial at Man U came to nothing. Needs to get it out of his head that he could have been a Man United player next season because, playing like he is, he's more likely to end up a Cambridge United player.

Needs to prove himself in the Championship first and he's a way off doing that IMHO.

Neil Taylor on loan please

That's all well and good but what do you think about Schlupp potentially leaving?

Loan has to be the best option. The lad needs games just look at his performance against QPR. I would be worried about letting him go permantly as the lad does have something and this could come back to haunt us. He did well at LB against Watford and proved that he can cut the mustard.

I've wanted him to succeed here for time. Who wouldn't want a pacey, international striker coming through their academy to destroy the league?

But it's increasingly obvious he's not really developing. He's the same shit player he's always been, the last few years. He can't do anything other than run fast. He's just Elvis with youth on his side.

Loan would still be better because we'd get nothing for him if we flogged him now but if he's still shit after another loan downwards then get rid.

I think it'd be best for all parties if he was to be sold if this is the case.

Can't really blame the lad, he's still young and yet to be given a regular run out in a set position.

Plus it can't be helping his development, something I think a lot of people misunderstand when it comes to slating his ability.

I also still wonder about that contract Sven gave him for scoring a hat trick. He was dishing out ridiculous contracts at the time, so I think Schlupp might be on a fair whack, which could easily have gone to his head.

If I remember correctly Bert said a few weeks back that at the time Jeff was the highest paid teenager in the league.

Jeff's mrs isn't too happy with this thread!

I don't know, when he's played LB it seems he's got great potential, and he's scored a couple in the cameo role. It's wrong to write him off, so I think a loan would be good for him.

think we should be keeping him.

Prem is about pace and skill.

Vardy and Nuge have been doing okay but we don't convert enough of our clear cut chances. We need a Deadly striker and Jeff isn't that man but he's got the pace and crossing ability to replace Lloyd when we go up and he can cover at wing back.

I love Dyer but his woeful finishing won't cut it when we get promoted, it's only his Deadly pace that's keeping him in the team now.

Loan him out to another Championship team in the bottom half of the table.

Would be a bit sad to have him leave permanently, after all the promise that he's shown.

I can't see him going. Konch will be off in May anyway. If we go up he'll be carted as not good enough for the PL and if we don't he'll go b'cos of his wages.

Those saying Schlupp's rubbish weren't saying that v Bolton last year and v Watford when he set up Knocky.

Reckon waghorn will be back in the fold for the rest of the season now. He'll take schlupp's place on the bench and Jeff will go out on loan. Low end championship like Sheffield Wednesday or Barnsley will be a good move as guarantee football but for confidence reasons I'd send him to top end league 1 where he plays with a better side and gets more goal scoring chances against a weaker defence. Going back to brentford would be a decent move and so would somewhere like posh.

A loan deal may benefit us both, if we could loan him out to either a lower championship team or a higher league one team. A good move for him i think would be to someone like Peterborough or Cov who score alot goals.

I love Jeff he gives 100% and its always nice to see someone from your own academy. When he came on at QPR he didn't stop running and he couldn't barely walk at the end. Fair play to him and I wouldn't say no to a loan move away for a bit it may do him good. But I wouldn't want him to go permanently.

I actually liked him at LB and would send him out on loan for the season to a team who would play him in that position. But I think its obvious Jeff doesn't want a career in that position. Him and Dyer is a deadly combination though

Gives a 100% really? Most of the time I see him when he comes on he looks uninterested and doesn't seem to care. When he came on at QPR he looked unfit and was blowing even though he'd only been on the pitch for 10 minutes.

Are you kidding, he was jogging around and barely made any runs, let alone chasing down the opposition :o

He's good enough to carve out a career in this division given time and games, Chris O'Grady can. I'm just doubtful he is capable of going much higher than that kind of level.

This has got to be a wind up surely?

Don't think he could have looked less interested.

I think this is fair enough and the two posters below this were hard on Jeff. I think when he came on vs QPR he was decent and looked useful vs man city. In his last start vs forest he was also comfortably more effective than nugent. Agree with loan but not permanent. He needs another 2 years with us to flourish/get loan football. Only not left back. He's good going forward eg vs Watford but is a bombs scare at the back sometimes. Much prefer Konchesky consistency at LB.

He was dreadful.
