Bert Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Kasper 6 - Ok the defending was shit. But I think he could've done better with two of them. One class save second half. RDL 6 - Good going forward but gave the ball away a lot. Konch 6 - another that gave the ball away a lot, but grew into the game as it went on. Morgan 6 - Sometimes he just wasn't tight enough, ok for the most part. Moore 6 - Nothing bad, but nothing brilliant. Dyer 9 - An assist and a class goal. Gave them problems all afternoon and finally attacked a full back on a booking. His best season for us. Knocky 7 - Nice that him of all players to pop up with a header. We're lucky to have him. Drinky 8 - He's been class this half of a season and was again today. Great finish. James 8 - Now he's starting to play regularly he is getting better and better. Vardy 8 - Fantastic performance. We're gonna miss him v Millwall. The first goal was all down to his endeavour. Won another penalty and never gave their back line a moments rest. Nuge 5 - Crap penalty, partly to blame for the third goal by just letting Knight stroll past him, didn't look too bad in the first half when linking play but a below par game for him today. GTF 7 - Great touches, Technically brilliant and a lovely finish. King & Hammond - Not on long enough to warrant a rating but did what was asked.
Thracian Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 King might not have been on long but he got an assist and helped seal the game.

Agree with most of that but I thought Drinkwater was very poor. Gave the ball away no end of times and offered little defensively when the back four were struggling. He's had a terrific season, on the whole, so far but I thought after his goal he offered little today. Given James was absolutely superb, I couldn't give them both the same rating, personally.

Perhaps I could be harsh and give Moore and Morgan's 5's for their parts in the goals but both had solid games otherwise and put decent blocks in. Thought our whole back 4 played like Jekyll and Hyde's really, moments of brilliance and moments of incompetence.
MGLCFC Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Thought DD was very good again. Didn't think Nugent was awful - lots of energy and clever runs.
J.Lisemore Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Drinkwater and Dyer were easily the best players on the pitch, I'd give them a 10 today.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Drinkwater and Dyer were easily the best players on the pitch, I'd give them a 10 today. Both have a fabulous arse too
Guest kristianity77 Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Why is Vardy out V Millwall? Too many yellows?
nlukka Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Kasper 6 - didn't have much to do aside from pick the ball out of the net 3 times. not seen the replays of their goals so unsure of his positioning for their 2nd and 3rd. RDL 6 - struggled in possession, gave the ball away an awful lot Morgan 6 - better in the second half, looked lost in the first Moore 6 - same as Morgan Konchesky 7 - supported Dyer well, got a lucky deflection for our 3rd Knocky 7 - a headed goal?! he gets an extra point for that. James 7.5 - broke the play up fairly well, better in possession, good drive forward for our 2nd. Drinkwater 7 - got a goal, ball retention wasn't as good today. Dyer 8.5 - a goal and an assist, gave Baptiste a torrid time. Nugent 5.5 - won the flick on for the penalty but not much else went for him today. Vardy 6.5 - won the penalty, not as much energy off the ball but understandable given the number of games played recently and with him being slightly injured GTF 7 - some lovely touches, great to see him score. King & Hammond did fine
Dickov22 Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Kasper 7 One fantastic save the second half. From my view I didn't think he could do anything about their goals as they were all right in the corner. Might look different on the FLS De Laet 7.5 Very good, particularly first half Moore 8 At fault for the Beckford goal- very Kisnorbo-esque in getting far too close to his man allowing him to turn. Other than that, he was superb particularly second half. Won everything. Morgan 7 Terrible defending for one of the goals but otherwise didn't give Beckford a touch second half Konchesky 7.5 As with De Laet really. Dyer 9 His best ever season for us continues. Loved the bit near the end when he was in the centre circle playing keep ball. He's a proper footballer, knows what to do- helped us keep the ball in the dying moments as well as being a constant threat down the left. His goal was a thing of beauty Drinkwater 7.5 Good game again. Looked understandably tired second half which is why he lost the ball a few times. Let's not forget how many games he's played already this season. James 9 MOTM for me. Class Knockaert 7.5 Not quite his usual array of tricks, but played well. Nugent 6 Huffed and puffed and made some good runs. Awful penalty. Just run up properly and hit the thing for Christ sake. Vardy 8 Won the penalty all by himself. He's such a warrior and we'll miss him at Millwall All 3 subs played their part. GTF to start at Millwall (please not Waghorn) This team has such guts and determination, which Pearson can take full credit for. Relentless in attack o- fantastic.
kingfox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Schmeichel 6 - Let in three goals, but made a great save second half De Laet 7 - I thought going forward he was excellent today, defensively shaky Morgan 6 - Looked poor first half, but was an absolute beast in the second half Moore 6 - Poor defending for Beckford's goal, but like Wes, was excellent second half Konchesky 6 - Helped for the O-G, but he played some awful passes Knockaert 8 - Thought he was absolutely excellent, tired and deserved to be subbed James 8 - Fantastic all round midfield performance Drinkwater 7 - Not his best game, some good bits of play, but some awful passes from him Dyer 10 - THE BEST! Nugent 6 - Him and Vardy were combining well first half, but he still ain't looking great Vardy 9 - Despite not scoring, it was one of the best performances by a striker I've seen at the KP.

Guest ttfn Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Schmeichel 7 De Laet 6.5 Morgan 5 Moore 5 (the pair of them barely deserved a "3" in the first half. Much better second). Konchesky 6 Knockaert 7.5 Drinkwater 8 James 8.5 Dyer 8.5 Vardy 6.5 Nugent 6
65RosesFox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Kasper - 7 will be disappointed to let in three goals but made a vital save when nedded. All four defenders 6. I think pearson will make some changes for millwall as fatigue will kick in and it will be a tougher game. I'd personally drop RDL as he gave away the ball a lot today and still returning from injury. put Moore right back and stick Wasyl in the middle with Morgan. Knocky - 8 looked a threat everytime he went forward, got back a lot more as well. Glad to see him get back on the score sheet. James - 8 looked strong in the middle and comfortable on the ball, the more he played the better he gets DD - 7.5 once again goad to see him get on the score sheet. However did give the ball away at times. Dyer - 9 MOTM! fantastic, looked like we could score everytime he went on one of his runs. Great goal. Deserves all the credit he's getting and glad to see he's keeping hos critics silent for the majority of the season. Vardy - 8 chased everythng down, constantly put thhem under pressure, won another penalty (love to know how many he's won this season, at least 3?) harshly booked IMO and will be a massive loss against Millwall. Nugent - 4 at best. Awful penalty, didn't look confident from his run up. Didn't feature much in the game at all. I'm sure he would've been dropped for Millwall if Vardy wasn't suspended. Subs: GTF - 9 did everything right. Held the ball up well, some great touches and wanted the ball all the time and dropped off to get it. deserved his goal. It's worrying that he was more influential and had more positive, attacking touches in his 15 minutes than nugent did all game. He has to start against Millwall, will be a disgrace if he doesn't. Just a shame it's not with Vardy as I think they'd link up well and become good partnership for away games. King and Hammond n/a All in all another 3 points a fantastic attacking performance but a bit suspect at the back at times. Bring on Millwall and Derby 4 points will do!
MGLCFC Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Ridiculous score of 4 for Nugent - the reason why out attacking play is so fluid is Nugent's link up play with midfield. The bloke gives 100% and his contribution to the TEAM is invaluable.
brockmyster Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 King might not have been on long but he got an assist and helped seal the game. This and more. King had a blinding 10 minutes when he came on
65RosesFox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 The fact he missed a vital penalty at 3-3 brings his rating down. That could've cost us the win. But fortuantely for him Dyer and GTF saved him, as well as Moore. GTF linked up more with the midfield in his 15 minutes than Nugent did all game. He needs to be dropped but at the minute he can't be as Wood is injured and Vardy is suspended and he is better than Schlupp and Waghorn. However I think he should be dropped from penalty duty now IMO.
MGLCFC Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 He's scored most penalties this season - missing 2. Why does he need to be relieved of this duty?
Nod.E Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Kasper: 6 - Did what he had to well. Conceded 3. Perhaps could have pulled off a save for one of them but not a mistake by any means. De Laet: 5 - Really do not rate him. Does some stupid, stupid things in possession. Morgan: 5.5 - Poor by his standards. Thought he was too slow to close down for the second and third. Moore: 7.5 - Never lost a header and won some important big tackles. Konchesky: 7 - Solid in defence and positive going forward. Good link up play. Knocky: 6.5 - Did okay. Took his goal well. I've seen him play a lot better. Didn't beat many players as he usually does. James: 7.5 - His control of the ball at feet really is fantastic. Drinkwater: 6 - Was brilliant for the first 15 then seemed to take his foot off the gas. Perhaps tired? Thought we carried him somewhat today. Great goal, though. Dyer: 8 - Always a threat and thought his passing was precise as well today, showing he's more than just a pacey winger. Assist and a goal. Vardy: 8 - Never stopped running and did really well to recycle possession under pressure consistently today. Lots of nice touches. Nugent: 5.5 - Didn't offer an awful lot today. Subs: GTF: 7 - Great on the ball and took his goal well. King: 6.5 - Looked positive in possession. Hammond: 6.5 - Swept well.

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 So who was MotM as you've all scored players differently making it very confusing. YOU ALWAYS DO THIS!
65RosesFox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Dropped from penalties?! He's scored 8 from 10(?) ffs, who's a better option? Konchesky? Evidently after the Watford saga Nugent stepped up but he has missed two important penalties now. Time for someone else to have a go. But that's just my opinion
gazfox9 Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 He's scored most penalties this season - missing 2. Why does he need to be relieved of this duty? You've answered your own question there.
