Am I wasting my time here?

I joined up some time after 'the old school'.

I reckon the past year or so on here has probably been the best actually. There seems to be less piss-taking of one another and more decent conversation. I think I'd probably get on pretty well with some of the guys around at the moment too. Foxfanazer, BTS, Sylo, Bob Weasel... all seem darn good chaps, amongst many others.

Possibly the worst thread I've ever read, maybe I missed something but all I read was an attention seeking child threatens to leave and the forum clique pined for his return, he returned and the threads closed.

If that was the standard then the site has improved tenfold. Shame you're still hanging around to put it down.

"Glory Days" - Brooooooce!

The man who said least said most....  :appl:

Come on, lads and lasses...the past is gone, the present is going by and the future is there to be written!

It's definitely improved somewhat

Probably because I'm back to be honest

You can only be funny if the audience you are funny to have a sense of humour, unfortunately with modern day FoxesTalk they are few and far between.

The glory days you had NSLL (Asha), Father Ted, Jake Shingler, ASH17LCFC (Hugo Sanchez), DB11 and others who could take a bit of a laugh and nothing was taken seriously, you say something on here now and it's "Why are you even on here?" or "Go to KopTalk", well original them.

You couldn't sense the sarcasm, no? That sums the modern day FT up.

There's some great posters on here these days. Obviously when a forum gets bigger then there is going to be a lot of different posters and it will be a different atmosphere.

Calling it the good old days is seriously cringey. I know you like to think that you were part of this little clique of cool kids but you genuinely still act like a kid and you've shown that in a few threads in the last few days. Truth is this forum has outgrown the 'old crowd' which isn't really a surprise. Most people are pretty laid back and have just rolled with the change. You and a couple of others seem desperate to cling onto a weird little circlejerk.

I think it's great that you can have threads that dicuss old jokes and stories, sounds like it was a good laugh, but when you whine about it in other threads and think you're a bit of a lad because you've been on here for a long time it's a bit petulent.

Petulant and embarrassing considering that thread really didn't strike mas being outstandingly hilarious. Not saying it wasn't funny in its own way (hard to tell when I wasn't really part of it) but hardly anything eye catching. I've read some pretty funny stuff on here recently.

Search the 'One Last Hurrah' thread, now that was when FoxesTalk was funny and you could have a laugh on here.

So the thread started with one poster wondering if he should stay and is ending with another poster who should probably fo somewhere more "fun".

What connection does Uncle Albert have with Leicester? It's bizarre, same with Lamby.

His location says Barrow on Soar, so he's local, he's also said he hangs around with some regulars on here in real life.

I love the whole taking the forum way to seriously, going on about some golden age, and thus sparking a small debate on how good the forum is, so he can the perform the old switcharoo and laugh at people for taking the forum too seriously! lol Genius!

Also loving the reason he doesn't try and be funny anymore is down to the fact we're all too stupid to get it and not because he's a miserable ****.

Also loving the fact he's yearning for a time when people made silly little flippant posts, yet my first run in with him was because I made a silly little flippant post about Bale and Real Madrid. Also he goes on about this golden age where people could take a joke, which apparently people on here can't do anymore, but I dare one of you to go onto the Premier League thread a criticise Liverpool or suggest Suarez is leaving. Do it and watch the reaction.

Uncle Albert, I don't know if I should salute your blatant trolling or pity your obvious cuntishness,

Liverpool fan going on about the olden days?

Never.

Somehow, Lamby has better comebacks.

Uncle Albert, how old are you? 87?

I agree that some of the "old crew" are no longer posting on here, but that's down to various reasons. Be it boredom, jobs, wives, family or just... boredom.

Besides, was it really funnier back in the days? Are you suffering from a mild form of nostalgia coupled with amnesia?

Messageboards change over time, mainly down to the influx of new posters and the departure of old ones.

A lot of messageboards, however, aren't so lucky to be around for almost ten years. Yes, TEN years. Ten years whilst continually growing and getting better (not just in terms of user surface and user friendliness).

So, be a bit thankful for the platform provided, you miserable old git.  :D

I've been here for years and make the odd post. I read everyone's post and share my opinion, reflect on others. People want different things from the forum but definitely don't feel ignored.

For all of you berating Lofty with abuse (Uncle Albert) I think you need to understand one or two things

For starts he's been to a lot of Leicester games and cheered the lads on, probably more away days than a lot of people in here slinging mud at him, so to say he's should go away because he's a Liverpool fan is a little unfair. Secondly he's been around here awhile and has played for the forum against the likes of Talking Balls, Bentleys Roof, Internet Foxes, etc and helped raise money for charity. It goes a little bit deeper than just knocking around with 5 or 6 lads off the forum he probably knows about 50 people who used to/still do post here and attend games in total.

Finally, I don't know why but a lot of the old posters try to demonstrate how good it used to be when questioned by dragging up an old thread from General chat containing about 50 in jokes which obviously no one gets and so everyone wonders why people look back fondly at a by gone FT era. The forums main strength back in the day was LCFC chat, we were an absolute shower of a team and struggled in the bottom half of the Championship for about 3 seasons running, and as such the place didn't have quite so many members, those that were though were in the main proper football fans (it still somewhat irritates that people who come flooding into the forum and the stadium since we've started to compete again but I digress) and between us there was a great knowledge of opposing teams, potential signings (where we had to be creative due to having £0) and most of the forum could name the starting XI of the reserves and the youth team, Thracian even used to go down to all the development games and give us (albeit slightly biased) reports. There were actual relevant knowledgeable discussions, General Chat was a dick about and unless you understand the way people acted at the time you're probably not going to get threads like the one Albert posted.
