Am I wasting my time here?

For all of you berating Lofty with abuse (Uncle Albert) I think you need to understand one or two things

For starts he's been to a lot of Leicester games and cheered the lads on, probably more away days than a lot of people in here slinging mud at him, so to say he's should go away because he's a Liverpool fan is a little unfair. Secondly he's been around here awhile and has played for the forum against the likes of Talking Balls, Bentleys Roof, Internet Foxes, etc and helped raise money for charity. It goes a little bit deeper than just knocking around with 5 or 6 lads off the forum he probably knows about 50 people who used to/still do post here and attend games in total.

Finally, I don't know why but a lot of the old posters try to demonstrate how good it used to be when questioned by dragging up an old thread from General chat containing about 50 in jokes which obviously no one gets and so everyone wonders why people look back fondly at a by gone FT era. The forums main strength back in the day was LCFC chat, we were an absolute shower of a team and struggled in the bottom half of the Championship for about 3 seasons running, and as such the place didn't have quite so many members, those that were though were in the main proper football fans (it still somewhat irritates that people who come flooding into the forum and the stadium since we've started to compete again but I digress) and between us there was a great knowledge of opposing teams, potential signings (where we had to be creative due to having £0) and most of the forum could name the starting XI of the reserves and the youth team, Thracian even used to go down to all the development games and give us (albeit slightly biased) reports. There were actual relevant knowledgeable discussions, General Chat was a dick about and unless you understand the way people acted at the time you're probably not going to get threads like the one Albert posted.

Plus, as we all know, the Glory Daysâ„¢ were 2005-2007 anyway.

I've never doubted that, like I've said before. it's just that in this last week (I've noticed personally) he's seemed to act like a bit of a bellend so that's why I think he's coming in for a bit of stick. He's also responded to that in an overly defensive and childish manner as well. For someone who keeps saying he doesn't care and that this forum is too serious that's very hypocritical. I've never had an issue with it before and it's nothing personal, just quite a lot of his posts recently have been shit and boring and I think that's the reason for all the stick and the +1's backing it up.

Again, no issue, people just need to be able to take it if they're acting like a bit of a pleb.

I remember the Omegle thread that provided the clique with some cracking laughs.

Petulant and embarrassing considering that thread really didn't strike mas being outstandingly hilarious. Not saying it wasn't funny in its own way (hard to tell when I wasn't really part of it) but hardly anything eye catching. I've read some pretty funny stuff on here recently.

Get out.

Give me Lofty over Bland92 and kingchild any day. Alright, he can't have a discussion without getting emotional ( ;) ) but he isn't ****ing boring and he isn't out to try and be popular.

People come on FT because it's interesting, warts n all. I'd rather a few more Uncle Alberts than another bloody cityfanlee. Christ.

Don't tend to post much on here anymore as racking up 16k posts on an internet forum at 23 years old made me seriously re-evaluate my life, that coupled with the fact there always tends to be somebody making a point that I'd only duplicate if I logged on anyway has meant I've steered clear a little.

Plus, as we all know, the Glory Daysâ„¢ were 2005-2007 anyway.

Well somebody is clearly irked that they weren't part of the clique.

Boring? Shit? Seriously re-read some of the drivel you post.

Like Manwell has said, I have had the pleasure of meeting a good 50 people from this Forum, meeting people socially at games and football matches this Forum created, them 50 plus people will tell you I don't take this Forum seriously, I've had countless disagreements with Finners, Manwell, a heated one with Stez, Katy and numerous others, yet when we all met up we ALL had drinks together, that to me doesn't sound like someone who takes this seriously.

You clearly do have an issue, IF you find my posts boring then like I have said numerous times on here, press the ignore button but you don't? You'd rather work yourself reading them and keep coming on here telling me to go somewhere else? Really is you mate who takes the Forum seriously.

If you think I have acted a bellend recently you would really of hated the 'Glory Days'. lol

Again, overly defensive and talking about the past on here. I specifically said in my last post and in others that fair enough, I've never given a shit, again, it sounds like you had a great time when there was less of you on here. But why do you keep talking about it to others that weren't involved? Are you boasting? I just don't get it.

And wrong again about finding your posts boring, I literally just said the ones from the last week have been a bit twattish. I don't know how many people have mentioned it either but clearly there was a fair few that felt the same. Why get so prissy about a few comments about a couple of your recent posts?

You keep saying I'm taking it seriously, all I'm doing is questioning why you're getting your knickers in a twist over nothing. Nobody would be talking about it if you could take a bit of stick originally.

It's interesting what people find funny and 'interesting' and what they don't isn't it? And what constitutes 'cool' or 'controversial' and what doesn't.

And it's massively difficult to really interpret anyone from a forum such as this. Take 'Daggers' for example... Broadly considered one of the more 'popular' posters I think? Personally, I never got him. I never understood his way of writing and his slant on things, other than a little 'zany' really. Yet he has many people who do seem to get him and apparently is a top bloke to have a beer with.

Seenitall is another. Never shy of defending his corner, the issue for me wasn't whether he was right or wrong about Sven or Pearson but that at least he was willing to stand up against an onslaught of opposing view until he finally appeared to cave in. I used to read his posts, rarely agreeing with him but somehow thinking 'fair play to you', at least you're not going down without a fight.

What is and isn't 'boring shit' and who is or isn't 'trolling' is surely purely subjective, based upon who is reading the post, the mood they are in, whether they agree or disagree with the content etc. etc. I've been accused of trolling myself. Hand on heart I can honestly say I've never written a view about Sven or Beckford or Pearson or whomever just to wind people up (ok, maybe just the once or twice lol), yet I've been hit with 'surely you must be trolling' on quite a few occasions.

Finally, I've never met anyone from here. I've never felt inclined to really. I have my small circle of pals in the outside world that is fine. I sometimes think it would be interesting to see what some of the guys on here are like in reality but quickly think nah.. Leave it how it is.

The one thing I do think is that everyone has a right to a view, however off the mainstream it is. Someone above, I think, mentioned about not wanting another 'CityfanLee' for example. Personally, I've always found his posts/threads fine. I don't think he, or anyone, should be castigated because they don't 'fit' with someone's world view of what is and isn't 'worth reading' . It's just another view. If you don't like It or get pissed off by it, put them on ignore. That's what I do. That said, my ignore list is not really that long.
