cambridgefox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 To be honest I'd not even noticed an awards thread, although I did last year. I am now a little ashamed of this self centred crap, feel free to delete as appropriate. What a sad git! Off now to bury myself in the garden after missing the do on Friday No more linx for me even if the misses gave it to me for Christmas fresh from pound stretchers buy 1 get 5 free. Not sure there was one.not being from Leicester I go to matches on my own Eg Brighton,I often say look out for me,but only met Steveherbe and basingstokefox at Forest ( cup) not that worried ,you feel a Billy no mates but I'm thicked skinned and don't let it bother me.As for the awards,I've got nothing against TBJS and yes some posts are slightly amusing but funniest poster by the majority.really.There are far more funnier posters that use clever wit on here,so I wouldn't take too much notice of that.Keep posting pal.
Zingari Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Bellend Sebastian gave me the best advice ever regarding posting on here. I've paraphrased it because i can't remember his exact words . "post stuff for your own pleasure not nobody elses " Maybe it was a lot more convincing and erudite in his words , but hopefully you'll get the picture
Captain... Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 To be honest you are wasting on your time here, as that is what this place really is, a place to waste time when bored at work or home, although you could argue that all we are doing is wasting time until we die, but that is a bleak thought, and not where I wanted to go with this post. Zing is right, post stuff for your own pleasure, this place is just a place for people with 1 similar interest to chat shit, the posts that get the most notice are the stupid ones, controversial ones, the really good well researched and insightful ones, the funny ones and the ones with tits in. The last post of yours I responded to was when you were slating Trott for crying off the Ashes, see controversial. As for official get togethers, they don't think they really happen any more, a few have been tried in the last few years and I don't think anything ever came of them.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Surely if your life evoles around being noticed on FT there is an issue.
foxfanazer Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Very few of my posts get quoted but I think it's because I don't have many controversial views. Or I'm basically just a boring cvnt

Or I'm basically just a boring cvnt Here you go.your right ,if your controversial or have good knowledge on subjects there will be others who have differing views and that knowledge also,I prefer sarcastic attempts at wit that usually fail, plus my written English is terrible, doesn't flow.So although I might have that knowledge on subjects,I can't be arsed.
jonthefox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 This may sound daft, but i sometimes find it hard to see you as real people. I saw 1964 fox at a game once (because of his shirt) and didn't have the balls to go over and say hello.

Nick Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I don't think you get particularly 'noticed' on here unless you are : a) A cunt. b) A WUM c) An opposition fan who is either/or of the above d) Very intelligent, get's involved with all the intellectual debates, not even shying away from those with a racist/homophobic slant. e) Funny (I'm looking at you Zingari and TBJS for very differing reasons, f) Prolific. You're gonna get noticed if you post 30 plus times a day regardless if there is a point. g) Dog with a bone on a particular subject or in a particular forum (I'm looking at you ColCityfan). Feel free to add to my list as I'm tired now. And bored. And, for the record, love him or loathe him, the poster I miss most is Daggers, could be a **** at times but this place is duller without him. Great post.
Rincewind Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Why does it bother you whether you are liked on a message board? Outside it is what matters. I believe some posters post opposing opposite views for fun. Some I agree with some I don't. I form my views in the real world. I have changed my way of thinking on some things by meeting people and seeing things. It is hard to change peoples views who have had different experiences in life.

There are certain posters who make this place feel very cliquey still. Though I'm sure it was much worse 'back in the day' Thats all I think he means
Samilktray Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 If being ignored on a forum bothers you this much, I don't think the Internet is for you.

Though I'm sure it was much worse 'back in the day' Thats all I think he means I don't think it's cliquey on here anymore, there's too many people on here now. It's easy to ignore anyone like that and just talk to someone else instead.
Guest Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 This is going to sound a little bitchy probably but wanted an honest opinion. I think I'm up to about 5000 odd posts on here and am a passionate Foxes fan despite having the wrong accent and being born on the wrong place but to parents with the right club at heart. I've lived up here and been going regularly for about 16 years now rather than the sporadic visits prior to that as I lived in the south of the Country. Anyway sometimes I feel completely ignored on here, I make points, good bad or indifferent it just seems to get passed by and ignored. So in the true vein of Babylon and others, should I just pack this place in? It seems like I'm talking to myself. I tried to suggest a Christmas get together a few weeks back but I'm guessing that already happens for those in the know and the invited few. Maybe I'm just a dick and need to **** right off. Either way Happy New Year to everyone, lets hope it sees us back in the top flight I enjoy reading you Mack. The get together was a great idea but there are a few knobs that unless an idea is theirs are assholes. I'd have joined you if I lived in Leicester still. Keep posting, ignore the wankers and happy new year.
Guest Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I think everybody is just talking to themselves hoping somebody will listen. This is the most insightful post I've read this month.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I wish I wasted less time on here than I do. (awaits comments along lines of, "so do I")

It's easy to ignore anyone like that and just talk to someone else instead.Nah the merry band of knobs that used to think they ruled, have all but fooked off. It's far more balanced these days, general chat was a no go area for me, a good few years ago. Any Tory was a racist and daggers was the quickest with the branding iron.

The Doctor Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 That wasn't Hitler's idea. At the risk of opening up a very dodgy can of worms involving a Winston Churchill robot that went evil as some part of a zionist plot to put a lizardman on a fake moon: whose idea was it then?

At the risk of opening up a very dodgy can of worms involving a Winston Churchill robot that went evil as some part of a zionist plot to put a lizardman on a fake moon: whose idea was it then? New conspiracy thread opening up...BTW I find posting while drunk means I post rubbish, which gets deleted, leads me to call a mod a willy puller and have half of FT laughing at me. It certainly gets you noticed in the short term.
Haydos Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 What the hell? I've just realised Rincewind has an N in it...I thought it was Ricewind this whole time.
