Bert Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Kasper 6 - Couldn't do much about either goal but his kicking was shit. RDL 5 - Up against a tricky winger but the first goal came down his side. Great cross for the goal though. Konch 6 - A comfortable afternoon for him, tried to push on attacking wise. Miquel 6 - Was given a lesson first half, grew into the game as it went on. Wasyl 5 - Unconvincing. Tried to be too casual at times and it backfired. Hammond 4 - Looks backwards first. Offered little protection and slowed us down when we were on the counter by standing still when he had the ball. James 5 - Hustle and bustle with little effect. King 6 - Thought he was the pick of the midfield. Industrious Knocky 5 - Started off well and looked dangerous. At fault for the second goal whilst not releasing the ball, then got Mardy when things weren't going his way. Vardy 5 - His usual chasing and endeavour, but was kept well quiet. Schlupp 5 - Felt sorry for him. Spent most of his afternoon chasing aimless hoofs. Nuge 6 - We looked much better with his and Dyers introduction, great headed goal. Dyer 5 - Although it freshened things up and gave us a more direct dimension, he was poor. Waghorn 3 - Embarrassment. He was pathetic.
Unabomber Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Waghorn 3 - Embarrassment. He was pathetic. How did he manage to get a 3?
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 How did he manage to get a 3? For being pathetic =D

Probably would have given King a 5 and Was a 4 as he is a car crash when on the ball. Glad you also thought Hammond was as poor as me - would like to know what % of his passes went forward but I'd guess at about 5% Thought our fans were excellent 2nd half
GingerrrFox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 I've come to the conclusion that you would be better off doing anything instead of listening to Ian Stringer and Alan Young if you can't make a game. How they gave Dean Hammond man of the match is beyond me. They can't call it like it is, seriously bad.

GingerrrFox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Thought Young picked Miguel? I didn't listen to it I'm on the way back from the game but I was told Young picked Hammond. If they did pick Miquel fair enough but there wasn't 1 player worse than Hammond today on the pitch. They must be too busy talking about their lunch box.
Fox_in_spain Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Lots of harsh ratings there IMO. RDL and Miquel were very good today - Miquel saved a goal with a great block in the first half too.
Ian W LCFC Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Disagree with the Waghorn rating, he was only on the pitch for about 15 minutes in which he had to try and win the balls hoofed up to him against Ryan Shawcross. Never going to be easy but I thought he did better than Schlupp, who to be honest, didn't look interested.
Dickov22 Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Kasper 7 some good saves De Laet 7 Did pretty well and helped us get the goal Wasileski 5 Poor. Seems to want to commit a foul all the time, poor in possession and given a torrid time by Jones Miquel 6 As above. Very hesitant at times but improved slightly second half Konchesky 5 Gave the ball away loads and beaten several times Knockaert 6.5 First 10 mins excellent but gave the ball away a lot. Never stopped trying though Hammond 5. Totally anonomous. Outmuscled, didn't impose himself on the game and goes backwards everytime King 5 Weak and ineffective. James 6 Slightly better than the other 2 but he can do much better than this Vardy 6.5 Huffed and puffed but was never really a threat Schlupp 4 Woeful. Didn't use his physique, looked disinterested. Nugent 6.5 Did well for his goal Dyer 6 We couldn't get him into the game Waghorn 3 Literally the worst I've ever seen from him. Lost the ball everytime we had it (a couple of times in promising counter attacks). I hope I never see him in a city shirt again. He ain't got it Very disappointed actually today. We were totally outmuscled, out passed (by ****ing Stoke!). Never got into them and our formation lacked any width until we went 4-4-2. I never see us play well when we have 3 in midfield from the off. Our fans were magnificent, and deserved better.
pazzerfox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 I'm very pleased he rested Drinkwater again. He has given him a nice break and hopefully he is revitalised for the rest of the season now. He struggled with the back end of last season, hence why we went through a dismal run. Pleased he rested big Wes too.

Bert Posted 4 January 2014 Author Posted 4 January 2014 Thought Wasilewski crossed for our goal?Could've swore it was RDL. But you're probably right!
Simmo86 Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Could've swore it was RDL. But you're probably right! RDL kept the ball in. Wasyl crossed it
tommypello Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Unfair on waggy difficult to make an impact in such a short time, apart from the goal nugent gave everything away, you felt sorry for schlupp yet vardy was kept quiet, both were given little service to be fair, no way was king better than knocky......
OzFox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Kasper 6RDL 6 - Up against a tricky winger but stuck to his taskKonchesky 6Miquel 10 - Made Kenwyne look good, which is no mean feat. Man of the match.Wasyl 5 - Huffed and puffed. Whipped in a nice cross for the goalHammond 5 - Static, pedestrian, slow to get the ball forward, gave the ball away etcJames 5 - see aboveKing 5 - slight improvement on the aboveKnocky 6 - Lively and creative first half, hissy fits in the second.Vardy 5 - Ran around a lot.Schlupp 5 - Couple of decent effortsNuge 6 - Couple of cracking headers, then started giving the ball awayDyer 5 - One good run, then started giving the ball away.Waghorn 4 - Hopeless. Half suspect Nige brought him on as he was worried we might actually equalise Thought we were quite poor today. Stoke never got out of second gear and still made us look ordinary. Their support never got out of second gear either which makes me think they weren't taking it that seriously
Rasmic123 Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Kasper - 6 Solid enough and pulled off a couple of good saves. kicking was very wayward though De Laet - 7 thought he defended and attacked fairly well Miquel - 6 Poor first half but had a very good 2nd half, especially bringing the ball forward out of defence Was - 4 Thought it was just right back he was crap at, but it turns out he's bad at centre back too Konch - 6 Solid and pushed on fairly well Hammond - 4 Midfield got overrun too easily in the first half and he doesnt look to go forward enough James - 5 Some good touches but drifted out the game too much and didnt link up enough today for me King - 5 Typical poor Kingy performance where he drifted out the game for long periods Knocky - 7 Could have been an 8 if he'd have had people moving around him, his touch today was magical though it has to be said, brought 2 balls down from the heavens brilliantly in the first half and he was our only threat for most of the game Schlupp - 5 Lively at times but also ineffective half the time Vardy - 5 Anonymous for most the game, but that was mostly due to the fact that all the balls played to him were in the air and he didnt really have a chance against shawcross aerially

Dyer 5 - Although it freshened things up and gave us a more direct dimension, he was poor. Waghorn 3 - Embarrassment. He was pathetic. I pretty much agree with Bert's assessment. Only change is i'd probably give De Laet a 6 as he was outnumbered first half yet did pretty well against Stoke's best player. Though Wasilewski was quite poor and passing was shocking!!! King was defo the pick of the midfield, how anyone can say Hammond and James were better, I've no idea. Was shocked to see King come off. Im not a massive critic normally but I struggle to see what Hammond offers..... He's not really any better than Richie Wellens (Being serious as well) James, I rate highly, but just didn't happen for him I actually felt we missed Taylor Fletcher to come on as his touch and vision is something we needed badly. Overall, not too fussed about losing and despite the changes to the side, I feel if some of our players had of performed better I think we could of easily got something
sdb Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Interesting stuff - I saw some things differently. Not a massive fan of Waghorn but he seemed to do OK for the 10 mins he was on to me. Nothing more mind. Kasper - 7 - no chance of stopping either goal, everything else good (sometimes his kicks are too long, though) RDL - 6 Was - 6.5 Miquel - 5.5 - weak link for me, decent in the tackle but distribution suprisingly poor and he & Was struggled to keep tabs on Jones which is a bit embarrassing as he's really not all that Konch - 6 King - 6 Hammond - 6 James - 6 Knocky - 7 - The real loser when we moved to a flatter 4-4-2 after 20 mins. Was playing fantastically in a free role 'til then. Some nice touches from him - better than Assaidi and Aranoutavic (or whatever) Vardy - 6.5 Schlupp - 6.5 - both worked hard but lacked a little support and a little confidence to really try and run at/behind their centre backs Subs: Nugent - 7 - changed the look of the game although didn't complete a pass after scoring Waghorn/Dyer - 6 - neither did much bar a few nice touches Some decent stuff but felt we struggled from 25-45 when players seemed unsure whether we really wanted to push for a goal (and risk a draw). Fans great.
Larry_LCFC Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Thought De laet had a pretty good game in fairness, made some cracking challenges. Thought schlupp seemed out his depth and Waghorn was beyond useless.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Thought De laet had a pretty good game in fairness, made some cracking challenges. Thought schlupp seemed out his depth and Waghorn was beyond useless. I don't think Waghorn was beyond useless, I felt he made one cracking layoff with his back to goal and one awful layoff. Other than that, he hardly touched it!!!
Larry_LCFC Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 I don't think Waghorn was beyond useless, I felt he made one cracking layoff with his back to goal and one awful layoff. Other than that, he hardly touched it!!! Which makes it a pretty useless performance. He had enough time to make an impact, and did next to nothing. For me, unless he can do a vardy and become a changed man, his time at LCFC is up.

For me, unless he can do a vardy and become a changed man, his time at LCFC is up. It isn't useless, none of the forwards have much service and he had numerous overhit and long balls to deal with. I would agree his time is up though. GTF and Wood both ahead of him when they're available
Johnny Cash Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 KS - 7 - Neither goal his fault. RDL - 4 - Very unintelligent player, rubbish defender. Was - Become less confident with him as every game goes by. Miguel - Struggled in the air, brought the ball out well. Konch - Our worst player on the pitch for me. King - Too negative, RUN FORWARD!!! Hammond - Standard is too high for him, lower end Championship player. James - Awful first half, slightly better second. Knocky - Good start until he was told to stick to the touchline, NOT A WINGER Vardy - Scraps, didn't hold the ball up. Schlupp - Stealing a living. Nugent - Improved us but still some stupid play. Dyer - Didn't really do much. Waghorn - Last time we'll see him play for us!
FoxTrott Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Young and Stringer both said Hammond played fantastically today. Shows you how the games are translated for those who don't see them with their own eyes.
