Strokes Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Regrettably I spent the first 17 years of my life "supporting" Mamchester United. When I was at university: A) my dad won me round. B) I realised what a cvnt I was supporting a team I saw twice a Season. Honestly, I looked at some of the dickheads who supported that team and re-evaluated. Not a regular route to supporting City I'll admit but an equally painful one! In fact, given when I started supporting City there can't be many on here who've had it worse (not that it's a competition) Are you a voodoo witch?
sylofox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Last night was awwwwsome. But best feeling ever other than winning the league cup has to be. The sheep play off final Whatever we feel about last night (great game) Nothing will ever copare to that game. One off game beat you local rivals to the biggest payday ever. Saying that last night was sweeeeeeett lol

I fell nigh on completely out of love with the club between 04/5 and 06/7, but when Nils-Eric bags a last minute winner at Deepdale, certain passions get re-ignited.
harpendenfox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I'm still purring, 48 hours on. There was so much to enjoy from that performance. Just hoping we can approach those levels more often than not in the coming weeks.
Alf Bentley Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I was in a state of ecstatic excitement about that performance for at least 24 hours afterwards.... I'm a middle-aged man, for God's sake. I'm not supposed to feel like that any more! What a match to miss live, too. I watched it on TV in the pub, despite having a season ticket, as my mate (no football interest) was visiting. I've seen us play like that in patches before - sometimes even for one half of a match - but I've never seen us achieve that level of teamwork and passing for such a high proportion of the 90 minutes. However, the single thing that made me most optimistic about the future was the attitude of the players even after the match was won - closing down opposing defenders, chasing down passes, getting tackles in. I really got the impression that Pearson had got right inside their heads (in a good way), convincing them of the need not to take the foot off the gas. That, combined with the quality of that performance, made me more confident that promotion might be on the cards this time - and that Pearson might well be a good enough manager to build a team (hopefully including a fair number of the current side) capable of holding its own in the Premier.... I'm sure something will go wrong at some point (hopefully not this season), but these are very good - and very promising - times.
iamafox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 We were brilliant on Friday night. Definitely the best performance of the season, perhaps in recent years. I couldn't remember when we gave the ball away, we were just so good with it.
Corky Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Would be interesting to hear what marbelladave made of the game as he, like Thrac, has been a big advocate of expressive, flowing football over the years
Micky Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Just watching the game again, with 2 minutes to go we had a move of 24 passes where Lloyd was very close to scoring after a back-heel by Wood. Sensational stuff!
Foxhateram Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Micky it was 42 passes used it in a maths data handling lesson today.
Micky Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Micky it was 42 passes used it in a maths data handling lesson today. Whatever number, it made Derby look like a bunch of twits!
Ashley Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Anyone know roughly in what minute Jamie Vardy absolutely tears Jamie Ward a new one in the first half with his pace?
NewburyFox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Anyone know roughly in what minute Jamie Vardy absolutely tears Jamie Ward a new one in the first half with his pace? It's early on. I'd guess around the 10th minute.
HoustonFox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 For those who have it, the full match has been up on Foxes Player for the last couple of days. I wish they would overlay RL commentary on the pics though. Always nice to see how close Stringer really is to reality ****SPOILER****** not very
