tooney92 Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 so happy to have chosen this game to watch whilst im back from uni despite the ticket prices. The match was quality, but our fans managed to make me chuckle for the 90 mins
Callabinho Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Superlative. I've dreamed of seeing Leicester city play football like that for a whole game. They went through Derby faster than an enema and should send a video to Leicester schools as an example of how the beautiful game can and should be played. Four goals, two efforts bouncing off the woodwork and other chances from moves which were almost conjuring tricks in football terms they were so fast on the eye and so unanswerable. Some misery complained that Leicester let up but while they might have momentarily got their breath back and there might have been one occasion when we were short of runners into the box I'm not surprised because that was express football and the Orient Express at that when it came to quality. Stopping City tonight would have been like trying to plug a breached dam with a pygmy's dildo. We just overwhelmed Derby with the sheer brilliance of our one-touch passing and it really was a joy to behold. How could anyone mark that as less than a 10/10 team performance? I really don't think I've seen anything better over 90 minutes in years of watching Championship football and honestly wonder if this team might yet compare with our great teams of the past, we were that slick. The "Wally" could have done with a brolly - not for the rain but to shield his eyes because Derby were twisted and turned more viciously than the air in a developing tornado. With two goals and two assists David Nugent looked a whole lot better than a guy who just scored penalties and what a performance from Jamie Vardy. From the moment he stated his intent with that surging run down the left flank, Derby never had a prayer. How great it was to see him rewarded with a goal and to see him win another penalty through chasing a nothing situation and making their defender panic. Selective readers complain I never praise Knockaert so lets leave them in no doubt that the man was a maestro tonight, a team player with individual touches and an absolute nightmare for the visitors just as was Lloyd Dyer whose combination of swift running and fast passing left the Derby defence metaphorically punch drunk. Altogether an absolute treat to watch and a joy to remember and well done Richard DeLaet for not only scoring his first goal of the season but from a move of such deadly precision it could only be admired. Seriously 10/10 for everyone. And that includes the manager and coaching staff. So eloquently put as always! And a brilliant summary of the game!
Lesta Legend Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 I have almost no concerns. That's good to know Nigel will sleep peacefully tonight ... Superlative. Callabinho Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Can I just say....Danny ****ing Drinkwater.....
sylofox Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 A few were understandably a bit twitchy on pre match thread, whilst being confident we'd win, I never expected a performance of that magnitude. The team were amazing to a man.......BarcaLeicester COYB watched the game in the pub with a QPR fan in his words. Shite we need to win tomoz. He was at our game and said we are the team to beat. he would be happy to be 1pt behind us at the end. Heads down lads we can do this. As fans we can get carried away long as the lads stay strong.
broughtonblue Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Think I've died and gone to football heaven! No player less than a 9 rating
OzFox Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 No FA Cup hangover this year then Superb tonight. An absolute joy to watch.
blueincornwall Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Isn't it a shame that each game is only worth a maximum of 3 points? The performance tonight was worth sooo much more. The problem is... that this is Leicester, and no matter how proud I am tonight, I always think that the next game will be 1-4 against us. The good thing is though that each time I have thought that this season, the team has proved me wrong. I hope to be wrong until May! Blue Army......

Wink Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Hard not to believe this is our year!! Trying to stay grounded and not get carried away but with performances like that you just can not help it... Good time to be a Foxes fan right now!!
Spudulike Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Not had a chance to read all this yet ... but only possible fly in the ointment is the Konchesky hamstring. 6 weeks out ?? Hopefully not as that will have scuppered young Jeff's chance of a loan (not that I expect he would mind if it meant some game time albeit at left-back).
johnny the fox Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 FFS lets not get too carried away. this is Leicester City we are talking about here we are masters of the fook up.
Oxshottfox Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Utterly stunning, like watching Barcelona tonight. I've had a hard hard week but the smile on my face tonight is the reason I have stuck with these clowns for 25 years. Sometimes being a supporter is worth it. Magical
Bert Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 The decision to rest key players v stoke now totally justified. Well done Sir Nige.
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 That's it, Thrac is happy. I take that as a sign for everyone to get pissed. Awooga!
Dan Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 That is one of the best performances I have ever seen from a Leicester side. Absolutely sensational. I genuinely believe we're going up.
Blanesta Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 That was amazing, the players gave everything tonight! I thought the fans were great as well, the atmosphere was electric! I'm so proud of our team, club and fans!
hackneyfox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 FFS lets not get too carried away. this is Leicester City we are talking about here we are masters of the fook up. Tonight I'm just thinking about how well we played, I'll be a bit more realistic tomorrow.
Clearupred Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Well done tonight Should win the league tbh One serious question. Where are your fans?
Swarles Barkley Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Oh god this is beyond sad http://t.co/RXX9xvXnmv
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Well done tonight Should win the league tbh One serious question. Where are your fans? Derby is just another game for us. We're all on our own.
Tielemans63 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Can't praise the performance enough. QPR seem to have some nice things to say about us. http:// www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?175169-Tonights-game . http://www.qprdot.org/viewtopic.php?t=71031 Fair play to the QPR fans, seems they're desperate for their team to play as positively as ours does. They're right though, going for the jugular in every game is working really well for us.
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Well done tonight Should win the league tbh One serious question. Where are your fans? They were at the game. Roughly 21'000 of them. Sadly, you've missed them all. Good luck for the rest of the season. Now can you please go back caring about Derby County? Thank you.
Bryn Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Well done tonight Should win the league tbh One serious question. Where are your fans? Pathetic, go have a wank and get to bed.
Saxondale Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Oh god this is beyond sad http://t.co/RXX9xvXnmv Haha! In fairness I think he's probably a few eggs short of an omelette.
