Haydos Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 That move where we olé'd it around for 5 minutes then suddenly upped the pace and attacked with Dyer from the right, that was magic. The sheer belief of the players was palpable at that moment, they felt like Real Madrid. That was so, so good to see. I know you could argue they were down and out by that point but it typified the whole game for us. Patient build up then incisive play when we frustrated them and drew their midfield onto us. The change in pace was instant and it was fantastic to watch.
Strokes Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Missed the game because i was working, it sounds like we destroyed them. Does anyone know where i can see the goals/highlights or better still the match?
Strokes Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Just found them on here, good goals even the second showed vardy's workrate pays off.

Bryn Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Vardy took his goal like a seasoned predator. His touch and ability to turn and run at the defence was majestic all night.
reynard Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 In so many years of following Leicester that has to rank up there with one of the most satisfying footballing experiences I've had. I think the last time I left the ground feeling I'd seen so complete a performance was after we beat Sunderland 5-2 with a Collymore hat trick all those years ago. I was also reminded of our time on league one when we came up against Peterborough at home. They were the form team on an unbeaten 14 match run and we just demolished them. Some of the play last night was just sublime. Played at pace and with one touch football that actually worked. As much as the attacking football one moment in the 92nd minute summed up out approach. With Derby in our penalty area and with a possible shot on goal Matty James slid in to win the ball and clear it. The game was won and over as a contest but that for me was true professional pride and in a strange way was as pleaseing as all that had gone before it. For all the greatness of last night it is vital to put it into context. It was just one game and just three points. All we have done so far is put ourselves in a decent position. There is a long long way to go and many difficult games to play. 13 more wins should do it and we may need less but there must be no arrogance and the players have to work hard and probably after last night even harder. If there is one downside to last night it probably lies in the approach visiting teams will now take at our ground. We struggle sometimes to break down sides who are frankly more physical than us and put 10 men behind the ball and I think we are going to see a lot more of that. We have some very tricky away matches to come and we need to be more clinical against sides at the bottom of the table. Our record against these is perhaps one of the few negatives of this season so far. I'd also like to see the people of Leicestershire and the city get down to the ground and fill it from now to the end of the season. Right now though I'm still on a high from last night and the league table looks very good indeed.
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Fair Report from Ramzone Rams Bruised & Beaten Badly By Boys In Blue!Friday, 10th Jan 2014 23:02 by Daniel J Sewart The best home record in the Championship came head to head with the best away record and it was the home record that came away the runaway victor. Leicester not only proved their promotion credentials, Derby showed they still have a long way to go. As a Rams fan you could try and take come consolation from the fact that the Foxes are by far and away the best team in the League and are likely to run away with the title this season. Unfortunately the hapless effort that Derby put in, is unlikely to be washed away by any such excuse as they looked a class below where they will need to be to even challenge for a top 6 place. After a first 15 minutes where both teams traded blows, providing an entertaining spectacle, slowly but surely Leicester began to gain a stranglehold as the warning signs were plain for all to see. The Foxes were beginning to tear the Rams apart in midfield and in turn the forward creativity of Dyer, Vary and Nugent who all had early chances, looked by far and away a class above anything the Rams had to offer. Chances were becoming easier for the home team to create as a flat footed Derby began to look tired and devoid of the spark that had propelled them up the league. When Dyer, who was giving the Rams a torrid time, missed an open goal after Grant could only palm the ball away from goal, it seemed that a goal was coming unless Derby found some ticker fast. Unfortunately no ticker was in the Rams kit bag so the inevitable came to pass when the Foxes finally put the ball in the back of the net. He started the move himself from right-back with a run that bamboozled two Rams, threw in a one-two with Nugent for good measure and finished by firing it low, easily beating Lee Grant. From there the Foxes blew the Rams off the park and how the home side were not ahead by 4 or 5 goals by half-time was a mystery in itself. Derby did not have a single effort on target in the first half and despite some decent play in the first 10-15 minutes, never really looked like troubling the home side. When Leicester hit the bar twice in quick succession, first from a shot on goal by Vardy from a near impossible angle and then Liam Moore smashed the ball into the cross bar by head from a corner. It was going to be a case of the Rams hanging on till half time and hoping that Steve McClaren might have a team talk for the ages ready to break the glass on in case of such an emergency. The Rams hung on but lord knows how as they were totally dominated in every department and on the balance of play should have been beaten by half time. I don’t know about other Rams fans but I was surprised McClaren did not make any changes at half time to try and inject some life into the stagnant Rams. It seemed as if they desperately needed it but then again giving them a chance to redeem themselves was worth a try. Unfortunately there was no respite for the Rams as after seeing the Foxes miss so many sitters, the home teams second was more luck than class but in all honestly if anyone deserved a slice of luck, it was the home team. When Nugent's shot was saved only to bounce back off his legs and into the net and into goal. McClaren decided like the rest of us the team on the park had no chance and tried to inject some life into proceedings with new loan signing Patrick Bamford and Mason Bennett coming on for Dawkins and Ward. There was a brief flicker of hope when Bamford got straight into the thick of it by shooting low. His effort was turned away for a corner and resulted in a Buxton header being deflected in by De Laet for an own-goal. A slight heart beat but only slight. Any hope the Rams may gather momentum was snuffed out when Craig Forsyth had a brain snap after shepherding Vardy away from goal only to bring him down on the edge of the box with a poor sliding tackle. Nugent stepped up and converted his 8th penalty of the season. Rams flat-lined and pronounced dead. Forsyth’s moment of madness triggered a full collapse as Nugent made it four and heaped more embarrassment on a Derby team who had hoped to regain some pride and momentum. Instead it was three losses in a week with 8 days of soul searching ahead as McClaren will attempt to bring his team out of a nose dive when they welcome Brighton next weekend. RamZone will present a completed report, match reaction, stats and more tomorrow but until then - we might just retreat to lick our wounds and try desperately not to have nightmares about a week of being beaten by boys in blue! - See more at: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/derbycounty/news/33773/rams-bruised-and-beaten-badly-by-boys-in-blue?#sthash.bS7U4s8C.dpuf De Laet isn't mentioned by name in connection with the first goal, they spell Vardy as "Vary" and attribute the last goal to Nugent, even though it was Vardy. But other than that, a fair and well-balanced report.
Lionheart Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I work in Derby and was getting loads on Friday, they seriously thought they were going to beat us and comfortably.Monday morning is going to be sweet and I had a few bets on ha ha.
Union FS Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 What a fantastic result for the boys last night, cracking atmosphere too. We need that to be the case for the rest of the season, things are indeed looking good. Read our views on last night's game below.http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/2014/01/11/492/
Corky Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Now that was enjoyable, fast, free-flowing football, sweeping moves and plenty of shots on goal against the form team in the division over the last couple of months. The whole team played superbly as a unit, the defence was solid, the midfield dominated their area whilst the strikers linked to such effect. This fixture just seems to bring out the best in us, we seem really fired up for it and it doesn't matter how well Derby are doing. Fantastic evenings' entertainment and even the atmosphere was good around the ground. I'm in danger of starting to believe we'll win the league now
Bluetintedspecs Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 The wally with the brolly, in his interview, added his name to the lengthening list proclaiming us as the best team he'd played in the Championship. We were sublime last night. COYB
Guest ttfn Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Well that was absolutely sensational. Having only been going since 2004 I can say with some confidence that, given the occasion and the form of the opponents that was the best performance I have ever seen from a Leicester City side. Sure we've hammered Derby a couple of times at home in recent years, but those Derby teams were absolutely abject. Yesterday I didn't actually think Derby played too badly. I'm sure their fans will say they're much better than that and I am sure that they have performed to a very decent level in stringing together that run, but there wasn't too much wrong with the way they played yesterday. They kept the ball well in midfield, but struggled to get any penetration until Bamford came on which seemed to give them a slightly more potent edge. Even playing as they did yesterday they'd beat most sides in the League. I wrote the above because I think sometimes when you see proper thrashings handed out - and let's make no mistake 4-1 completely flattered Derby - there is a tendency to say "XYZ were great but they were made to look good by ABC". Not yesterday. Yesterday was an absolutely sensational Leicester performance and one which it seemed inconceivable that we'd ever see under Pearson 10 months ago. Even after the fantastic start we've had to the season I have always thought that we'd hit higher levels of performance at times last season. But not yesterday. Yesterday was something else. The movement both on and off the ball was absolutely staggering throughout. Nugent was the star of the show - an absolutely sensational individual performance, particularly in the second half. He and Vardy worked their nuts off and set a platform for the rest of the team. Vardy and Dyer's directness is really exciting to watch and was responsible for the sheer number of (excellent quality) chances created. Drinkwater was sensational. Had a wry chuckle to myself watching him run that game when a) eight months a go he looked incapable of completing a pass and b) the Derby fans rimming Bryson and Hughes for running the midfield against the division's shitmunchers. He and James completely controlled the centre of the park. De Laet was sensational. His goal was absolutely brilliant. Dare I say it but he is looking every bit as good as Naughton did for us. All of the other players played well. It was a fantastic performance from all of them and they should all be delighted and proud. If we hit even 80% of that in our remaining games we'll go up comfortably. Great atmosphere too.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I've calmed down a bit now. Outstanding performance. Absolutely outstanding. There couldn't have been one player I'd give less than 9/10 last night. I think that's the best I've ever seen us play. Derby were lightweight and poor but that shouldnt take anything away from us. I'm so pleased for Nugent too. It says it all when the neutrals last night thought we'd have beaten half the premiership. I dont know whether to laugh or cry. Its been a fantastic weekend already and its only lunchtime saturday. Oh and our fans... Wow.. None stop singing and loud as well. Probably better than last seasons 8k v Boro

deejdeej Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Still buzzing from last night, couldnt make it due to being absolutely skint and working nights but I'm glad for the people that forked out 32 quid in a tight month, big respect! Obviously I feel little sympathy to the rams fans for paying that price... serves you right for not caring about us :-(
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 One of the best displays I can remember from a City team - could have won by more and their goal was a fluke. Couldn't fault anyone on the night, hard to pick a MotM. Dare I say it, but... nope, not going to say it, this is City after all.
Carl the Llama Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 One of the highlights has to be that passing move we put together at 1-0 up (I think, it was certainly in the first half anyway) involving about 20 clean passes before James pulled a ranged shot just over. That was the point where I truly felt the game was ours for the taking.
Rincewind Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Not much of a betting man but I thought about it at halftime last night. One of the betting sites came on and it said nugent to score the next goal 7/1.
Langston Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Having only been going since 2004 Out of sheer curiosity, how did you end up supporting Leicester?

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Only found out last nights result a couple of hours ago. Sounds like it was a good game. Well done City.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Out of sheer curiosity, how did you end up supporting Leicester? Regrettably I spent the first 17 years of my life "supporting" Mamchester United. When I was at university: A) my dad won me round. B) I realised what a cvnt I was supporting a team I saw twice a Season. Honestly, I looked at some of the dickheads who supported that team and re-evaluated. Not a regular route to supporting City I'll admit but an equally painful one! In fact, given when I started supporting City there can't be many on here who've had it worse (not that it's a competition)
