Aylestone Fox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Ello fellow Foxes Myself and two colleagues from work have got the day off and planning a sortie down Broad Street for the afternoon before the game to have a few sherberts Is there anyone else planning a similar kind of trip, if so where are you planning on going so we can be safer in numbers so to speak !?! COYB...............
shilton_fox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Me and a few lads are going down early, no idea where to drink though!
Walker Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Never done a Birmingham away game so also need inspiration as to where to drink....
Walshie is God Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Whenever ive been villa weve been in walkabout on broad street. 5 mins from station!
Bert Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I would suggest not to go around the Birmingham area of the ground. Horrible tip of a place. The ground is a 15 minute walk from the station and around the new street area there are a few pubs, or you can just head off to Broad street and take your pick.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Broad Street and Brindley Place are your best bets. Can just jump in a black cab to head down to St Andrews. It's not much fun round the ground.
Simo86 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Brindley Place has plenty of decent bars, that's where I always go when I'm out in brum
Dan Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I've got a feeling it's going to be an unreal night.
jash21 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Anyone know if tickets will be available on the day?
purpleronnie Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Anyone else misread the title of this thread? Dissapointed.
Solihullfox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Guys suggesting Brindley Place have got it right. It's right on Broad Street if you want to use some of the bars there as well and you can always use one or two pubs on the canal or, if you want to go a bit more upmarket, short walk down the canal from Brindley Place and you can drop in to the Mailbox. If you like a good beer, rather than lager, then try The Wellington on Bennetts Hill or The Old Contemptables next to Snow Hill Station- both are a shortish walk from each other in the Colmore Row area of the city centre and not that far from New Street. Taxi job from any of the above.
promised land Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I would suggest not to go around the Birmingham area of the ground. Horrible tip of a place. The ground is a 15 minute walkfrom the station . If you're a speed walker, I'd say more like 25 minute walk from New Street, about on par with our ground to the station. You're spot on about the area though, the local pubs looks rough as well.
C-man Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Post Office Vaults for me. Absolute heaven for beer lords.
Langston Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Post Office Vaults for me. Absolute heaven for beer lords. Yes! Listen to this man, great shout.

Aylestone Fox Posted 20 January 2014 Author Posted 20 January 2014 Broad Street and Brindley Place are your best bets. Can just jump in a black cab to head down to St Andrews. It's not much fun round the ground. I think this is the order of the day for me and 'Walshie Is God' and your right its a bit ropey near the ground from what I remember from last season, buzzing for this one as I'm usually dragging along my daughters to most games so have to go easy on the drink and behave responsibly .. Can let my hair down for this one , what hair I have left that is,.looking forward to seeing a few Foxes during the course of the afternoon
The Man In Black Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Or a late thread depending on which Birmingham game we're talking about...
ashfosse Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 spoons in town was quality last year. was full of lcfc. anyone there when they refused to sell us more beer until we stopped singing? was jokes. everyone then just went outside and sung. some good ale places on that road aswell.
Aylestone Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Author Posted 22 January 2014 Or a late thread depending on which Birmingham game we're talking about... As it was posted 20/01/2014 and talking about going for drinks 'before' the game I can only assume its the one coming next, common sense really.
Dickov22 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 The best pub in Bham is a pub called Brewdog. Craft beers and ales, right next to new st staton. Not cheap, but excellent beer and food. Bert is right- the area near the ground is a hole
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 There's a cracking cheap poker tournament in the casino on a sat night
Unabomber Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Post Office Vaults for me. Absolute heaven for beer lords. This, anyone into beer needs to check this place out it is fantastic.
