MPH Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Yes. Think we'll offer him two years. He's been good for us and if we go up he deserves a crack at the prem with us for sure. Agree with this. A 2 year deal also means we can sell him and get money for him if it doesn't work out...
Strokes Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I would definitely offer him one, offer a lower basic with high performance bonuses.
Alf Bentley Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Absolutely! Top goalscorer, a critical cog in our creative, passing game, tireless worker - and also seems like the sort of character who'd be excellent for team morale. No brainer - sign him up!
Alf Bentley Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Are you drunk? Were we watching the same game? He had his back to goal and tried to swivel and shoot in one movement while under pressure from defenders and very nearly succeeded. How the frig is that a sitter? It wouldn't have even been half a chance for most strikers in the league. The header he missed (I presume that is what you are referring to) was from a cross that was too high for him. He did well to even connect with the ball. Both he and Vardy were feeding off scraps for the whole game. What a clueless post. Excellent analysis! +1
BrummieFOX Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I'd definitely offer him a new deal. If we don't go up, he's priceless in this league. If we do, he deserves his chance.
crisp monster Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Mmmm love me a bit of Nugent but he was terrible today. Can't see him causing too much trouble to premier defenders but maybe he can up his game - I'll trust in Nigel with this one
Dickov22 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Terrible today. Lethargic as he's been too often this season and misses 2 sitters from 4 yards. The one at the end was fvcking disgraceful. Getting fed up with Nigel leaving him on and taking Vardy off regardless of the situation. It was clear we needed our strikers to show for the ball, work his arse off and make dangerous runs. This is not Nugent. Ha ha this is hilarious. The header was too high for him. The shot he may well have scored from but it wasn't a 'sitter'. He had his back to goal! I agree Vardy was unlucky to come off rather than Nugent, but the rest of your post is laughable. Like all your other comments tonight, actually.
Raw Dykes Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Sure, I'd offer him a new deal, he is detrimental to our promotion chances and if we go up he would play a large part. Hahaha! Make your mind up!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Why have the other threads been deleted/locked? At least merge them with existing ones. I disagree with all the Nugent-bashing and have defended him a lot but people should be able to say what they like.
southfox66 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I'm going to stick my neck and say yes. I'd give him a 2 year contract, he one of the few players with premiership experience and I think he'll raise his game, cause he'll have to. Yes he might have off games this season, but at the end of the day he still getting us goals that win us games and that why we top of the table.

Grewks Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 6 year contract, record wage and the captain's armband.
shailen Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I think people are forgetting that he has the most assists in the team currently at 10.
Fox92 Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 6 year contract, record wage and the captain's armband. Your topic got locked but you replied to me with 'he only has 8 goals from open play'. Have you considered how much he has created? What is it 10 assists? His movement is still the best the the club, that alone creates chances, as does his workrate. For anyone to say they'd get rid of him is rubbish. He's an asset for us and we can't get any better at the minute. Ings might be better, but we can't afford him can we. It's no coincidence that Nugent scored in both play off games against Watford, the big games, and against PL opposition in the FA Cup earlier in the year. I don't really agree that your topic was locked as this is a forum, but your constant moaning about Nugent is boring and not really backed up well if you look at his statistics. I mean, chill out man, were top of the league and Nugent has contributed as much as any other player in our team.

It was 1 thread. i also acknowledged that nuge has been contributing, but in my opinion not enough. He has had great chances to get us points against forest, wednesday and today but he continually fails to deliver.

A fox for life Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 F uck off all you nugent bashers he drew 2 defenders away so it was clear for DD to score.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I think people are forgetting that he has the most assists in the team currently at 10. Agreed. Not only that but added to his goals he's had a direct hand in nearly half the league goals we've scored this season, actually before Bournemouth I think it was over 50%. And if that header was the supposed "sitter" he missed, it's not his fault he's not 7 foot 5.

Rincewind Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Why not? he's an important part of the squad. Someone on Twitter said that penalties do not count. Muppet.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 But who's fault is it? We need to blame someone. Pearson Out.
