Uncle Albert Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Lucky 15 paid a nice little return and had a nice win on Holywell. Not looking forward to tomorrows betting and Thursdays, never good days for me.
Guest MattP Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Absolute shocker, any more days like that I'll be begging for change before the week is out. 3 defeats by half a length or less is hard to take. Even a virtual dog I did got pipped on the line.
General Smuts Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 2 winners for me in the form of Quevaga and Vautour and 2 each way wins in Trifolium and L'Unique. Means I've won back half my outlay for the whole week on the first day. My only real loser was Our Connor.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Had a very decent day so far. £3 on Vatour at 4/1 £1.50 E/W on Rocky on Ruby £1.50 E/W on Holywell at 10/1 £ 2.50 E/W on Our Conor (Money back at Coral as faller)£ 10 on Quevega at 4/1 £2 E/W on Midnight Prayer at 9/1 £1.50 E/W on Many River To Cross. So 4/7 winners, would have made a cracking lucky 15! Top of the fantasy league as well with Alan King gaining me plenty of points, should probably quit whilst ahead.
separator Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Wednesdays selections. Hopefully better than Tuesdays. 1.30 Red Sherlock 2.05 Smad Place 2.40 Dell Arca 3.20 Captain Conan 4.00 Big Shu 4.40 Goodwood Mirage 5.15 Modus
Tom17LCFC Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Quality day!! Had Vautour in the first and Holywell in the 2.40. Went for Glen's Melody to win in the Quevega race, would've sent us absolutely mad haha 3/4l off, brilliant day out though!
Bayfox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 30 on vautour paid 120 and nothing much after that. Was e/w on the new one and 1 other place ended up 54 quid up for the day. Need something to come good tomorrow or thurs fri will be no betting days for me. Any tips?

ScouseFox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 SkyBets tweet straight after made me laugh "We've been #skybettered" true! I nearly went for him but Hammonds tip put me off haha yep, bookies have been done there. they've spent a full 2 weeks trying to give him away and he's won going away with barely another horse in the picture! I was ready to go very hard but got put off by literally everyone everywhere saying he wouldn't win. went with my gut that he'd bolt up but lessened the stake in case i was wrong. oh well. easy profit for the fest so far thanks to a top day today.
goose2010 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Had Faugheen and Sire de Grugy in a double at about 9/1 nearly paid for yesterdays poor day

(i literally have no idea whats going on but I had a fiver going spare so thought why not chelts saying as football has been terrible for me lately) big shu (the fav) won it last year impressively but is higher in the weights because of it. balthazar king won the year before. it's a long race, it goes round in circles here there and everywhere instead of the normal track, the fences are all different shapes and sizes, ground is different to the normal course and it can be a bit of a lottery. it's great to watch a cross country, from personal experience not so much fun to bet on ! i could just be crap at it though. if you want to waste a fiver on cheltenham today then you're gonna do well to find a winner in any of the final 3 races, all handicaps with big fields. find an e/w bet you like the look of (whether it's form, odds, colour, jockey whatever!) and go for it, got as good a chance as any mate. i'm gonna throw a couple of quid e/w on balthazar king if that means anything to you, definitely not a tip though haha.
