A total of seven Foxes are set for international action with their respective nations this week as Sky Bet Championship football takes a backseat.
Liam Moore kicks the action off on Wednesday evening when he makes the short trip to Derby County’s iPro Stadium with Gareth Southgate’s England Under-21s side.

The Young Lions tackle Wales in a qualifying match for the UEFA Euro Championships, and Moore will be hoping to add a second cap to the one he won against Northern Ireland in 2012.

Another player hoping to make an impression is City ‘keeper Kasper Schmeichel, who will travel to Wembley Stadium with his Denmark side on Wednesday for an exciting friendly fixture against England.

The Danes beat Malta 6-0 in their last outing, but missed out on a spot in the summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil, so will be looking to build towards the European Championships in two year’s time.

Elsewhere City midfielder Andy King will hoping to line up for Wales in Cardiff as they lock horns with Iceland on Wednesday night.

The Academy Graduate has racked up 25 international caps since his debut in 2009, and like the Danes, are beginning their preparations for a Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Skipper Wes Morgan will again be linking up with Jamaica during this latest round of international fixtures for a friendly with Grenada in Barbados, also on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old made his international debut last year against Panama and after being included in the 22-man squad for the match, could now add to his two caps.

There will be a long trip in store for Chris Wood as well when he links up with his New Zealand team-mates in Tokyo for a friendly.

The All Whites take on Japan as they look to put behind them the disappointment of defeat to Mexico in the intercontinental play-offs for the FIFA World Cup back in November last year.

Under-18s striker Simonas Stankevicius has also been handed a call-up to the senior Lithuania side for the second time as they prepare for a friendly against Kazakhstan in Turkey.

The youngster made his debut for his national side last year, and after some promising form for City’s youth team, will be keen to add to the cap he won against Moldova.

Finally, Development Squad attacker Joe Dodoo is on standby for England Under-19s duty against Turkey on Wednesday.

The match takes place in Chester and is preparation for the upcoming elite round of qualifying for the European Under-19s Championships.

Just on the subject... am I right in saying we could potentially lose Mahrez for a month in future African Cup of Nations'?

If you call up Mahrez

A little off topic but The African Cup of Nations really infuriates me. I don't know why it isn't played every 4 years. It really can interfere with a team's season. Too early to be talking about Mahrez in reference to this but finding cover for key players for a month must be really hard on Prem League managers. Once every four years they can handle but every-other year? It also diminishes the importance of the tournament. They should have it in the same years as the Euros and, therefore, two years either side of the World Cup. Rant over...

Moore going to play in Derby

Kasper London

King Cardiff

Wes Barbados lol

Bet he's been taking the right piss

If he plays, he'll be sweating over there. :D

Probably safer to stay on the bench - or is he a regular starter for Jamaica these days?

With Wes in Barbados and Wood in Japan they are going to be tired players when they come back.

We don't play again until the 11th, they'll have plenty of time to recover.

Jamaica played Barbados today (won 2-0) and play again on Wednesday, NZ play in Japan on Wednesday, they will have a week to recover.

Good to see so many players being recognised for their performances. I think it's great lower league footballers get the chance to play international football as it brings a different dimension to international football. We do need them to avoid injury though. It would be a real kick in the teeth if we lost some like Wes playing for Jamaica against Panama.

Good luck to all of them though.

I hate it when when it's the international break. Saturday's ain't as fun!

It's only our game that's been postponed - I think because we should have been playing Wigan, who are in the FA Cup. If you think about it, Saturday could be quite a lot of fun if the teams below us get tonked.

I don't think all 23 of them can lose lol lol lol

Mixed feelings about Kasper tonight. I'm not bothered about the score, I'd love Kasper to shine tonight but then he'd be putting himself in the shop window.

If we go up I reckon he'll stay and sign a new contract, we might well lose him next summer but at least we'll get a fee.

He's moved around a lot in his career, he's been settled and guaranteed football for three years, that holds some sway.

I hope he has a good game, no chance with the England goals and returns unscathed.

Excellent goals from Chris Wood. Is it just me who thinks he looks a bit bigger in the chest and shoulders than when he first came to Leicester? Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. He wasn't the fastest anyway but he does look a right beast now.
