Because I'm Happy !

It's ok, nothing more, nothing less, but it's been killed by the radio stations like most songs. Overplayed, over rated, repetative, e.t.c

Don't listen to a massive amount of radio, so it's not been ruined for me. Like a previous poster said, if you can have any negative thoughts after listening to this song you've got anger problems. Even if it's not your type of music, it's an uplifting song, why would it fill you will rage!

It does strike me as a kind of mantra chanted in fragile defiance by those who can't quite come to terms with the relentless tedium and misery of existence. Whenever I hear it I can't help but think of some 30-something driving along a gloomy motorway in a mid-range indistinguishable car on their way to a meaningless job in a drab open plan office which pays them just enough to feed the family and cover the debt they've taken on in order to comply with what society told them they needed, but which actually brings them no joy at all. So then it's "chin up, come on, be strong, because I'm happpyyyy (tap the steering wheel wooo), because I'm happyyyy (yeah yeah, sing it with me), I think I'm happy (I am, I am), am I happyyyy, I don't know if I'm happyyyyy NO NO NO SING IT LOUD I AM HAPPYYYYYY YEAH I AM HAPPYYYY YEAH"

Then again, maybe I'm just projecting.

Decent song but it's well over played.

Yep, makes me want to break things. I'm probably quite angry / miserable though. >_<

You must like Pharrell Williamds and Holly Willoughby and if you don't you are a hater destined to burn in eternal shame.

I don't know who either of those people are.  I have also, skillfully I might add, managed to avoid knowing what Justin Beiber sings or what he looks like for all these years, and that's the way I want it to stay.

Because, like silence...ignorance can be bliss !!

How can you not know who Holly Willoughby is?

Pharrell, fair enough but Holly Willoughbooby!?
