Leicester City v Blackpool Post Match Thread 3 - 1

Blackpool got what they deserved, **** all, you come to a team flying at the top of the league and park the bus, and expect to survive 90 minutes.

Frustrated us for long periods of time, and with the ref their 12 th man, missing a blatant penalty and numerous fouls, and still not convinced vardy was offside first half, but nobody is stopping us marching on to promotion.

Great patients and class gain us another 3 great points, and well done to the lads that came on and showed we have class waiting in the wings.

Premier league here we come.

I'm putting it out there. 15 points ahead of third with a game in hand. It's done. We are up. No question whatsoever. What a brilliant season.

I'm a very cautious person but agree with you here. As long as we ward off complacency, its job done in these last four games Ipswich / Charlton / Barnsley and Blackpool. as we all predicted. Absolutely great stuff :)

In all seriousness though, I do like the look of the Leicester side. Like Burnley you seem to be very resilient. So when I saw you'd gone a goal down I wasn't in much doubt that you'd turn it around! I'm thankful we did the same! :)

I think we're a class above anything else in this league.

Will you lot stop winning, it's getting boring now!   ;)

You know what I hate, people whining about 1 or 2 people not being over the moon with everything.

It would seem promotion's won now. The next challenge is keeping the top spot, and we've got to keep it going up to the Burnley game. We've then got Burnley and Wigan away, and losing points up to that could put Burnley right behind us, if not worse.

But as for this evening, a fantastic comeback, good goals and another happy Saturday!

Well the league table doesn't lie, so I won't argue with that. I'm looking forward to your visit to Turf Moor. Should be a cracking game.

Burnley and leicester are by far and away better than the rest of the championship, and we are both up there because are teams work hard, and have been consistent, and have a little bit of class.

Glad it's burnley up there and not forest or derby, but sorry the title is ours.lol

Will be a big challenge indeed. Looking forward to it though, and if we can keep the current gap and draw that would be great, then hopefully break further with our game in hand

I am so delighted with today's showing. Premiership here we come ! Mahrez's strike was brilliant, he is a good player and I reckon he has what it takes to do well in the PL.

To be fair to Blackpool, I'm not sure how else they could've set up given the quality in the side so I'm not going to slight them for being defensive.

I don't think you have to worry about the title - although some of us have been saying it's possible for us to catch you, it would be an extremely tough ask now. I'm happy it's Leicester up there! I've always liked Leicester - I used to manage them on Footy Manager back in the day  :P

If you beat us at Turf Moor then fair play as we've not lost there in a year. I'm sure it will be a close match, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a draw: 3-3 thriller I reckon! :D

Special mention for Kevin Phillips today, in my opinion. He took his goal brilliantly, but didn't big it up, because he used to play for Blackpool. He nearly had a second, and had time to joke with Gilks about the miss. Then when Mahrez was getting wound up by Broadfoot - who did the same to Knockaert earlier - he stepped in and pushed Mahrez away.

Absolutely top professional and a brilliant signing: going to be a Leicester Legend even if he only plays three or four hours for us in his entire City career.

Who made the pass to put Vardy through one on one in the first half?

A through ball from the halfway line near enough, ****ing unbelievable and a shame it wasn't finished off.

Wow, didn't see that coming, personally I thought the 1st half/start of the 2nd was one of the poorest this season - Which let's be fair, there has been much poor about this season.

Didn't look like we were at the races for me.

I couldn't see us getting the draw let alone the win, but wow once we got the first (And what a goal it was) there was no stopping us, we were back to our best, looking unstopable.

Brilliant.

Mahrez loves slotting the ball into space for people to run onto, he's assisted Vardy for two goals in a similar vein (Brum and Barnsley) and that pass again today was inch perfect.

Looks a real talent. Shame Pearson'll coach it out of him because he can't handle flair players, eh? Oh, hang on....
