Deucalion Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I hope you're not including the Blackpool match. Were we really that bad against Blackburn? Yes, we couldn't get a kick for about 25 mins of the second half, but I thought we played some outstanding stuff in the first half. I personally thought we struggled a bit against Blackpool and for large parts of the game they looked the better side. We won it 3-1 but I thought it flattered us a little. I couldn't get the stream to work until the second half for Blackburn so that has to be taken into account !! We finished the game strongly but my first thought was that we could not get a touch.
CKB Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 I think its important not too over react and by saying these two draws represent a return to last season certainly is an over reaction. Having said that, I've been getting really fvcked off with people becoming arrogant regarding our position. How on earth, fans are claiming things are done and dusted before they are is beyond me, certainly after last season. I didn't listen to the Barnsley game but a friend told me Stringer was being patronising to them and things like that annoy me immensely. Who are we to start acting like we are big boys? we've been out of the prem a long time and with an arrogant attitude that will carry on. Fortunately I don't think Pearson will allow that attitude to translate into the players. Burnley is a big game, as if we didn't know it. We will have to play alot better than yesterday to get something from the game, but I think that we can. Lets get fully behind the lads in this run in and forget about everything else untill its over. Its ever so close, but we are not there yet. Totally agree with this post... It's fine being confident in your side but the stuff i have heard from people lately really makes us look like arrogant twats, like we have a devine right to beat every team every week 3-0! The good thing is people like yourself also have some dignity and know that things are far from over yet and don't go into meltdown when we draw a game! No one can predict anything yet in this league, we could end up going on another winning streak, we could end up really ****ing it up, QPR could win all the games they have, Burnley could **** it up, etc, etc! the point i'm getting across is nothing is for sure yet... We are in a good position but we/other teams still have 9/8 games left and anything could still happen It's game by game with me and has been from the very start and i'm pretty sure like you said well infact i'm 100% sure that will also be Pearson's mentality, he knows this is far from over and until we have a C or P against our name that's how every game should be taken.. Yes we have been not at our best lately but we still have managed 2pts from them games and still at times played ok but not at the standards we have seen because NEWS FLASH people that just doesn't happen! You will have iffy games, scrap a draw (Yeovil) win a match by a fluke (Leeds) that's just how it works! There is no need to overreact yet, comeback to me if we haven't won a game in 5 and i maybe abit more worried then.....
Mark_from_USA Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 I take comments like this as a testament to City's incredible season. People expect us to boss every game and panic if we don't.
veezeeblue Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Since 1st January: WWWWWWDDWWWWDD Why are we panicking this time? It isn't as if we haven't drawn two games in a row before - it is football and it happens. I believe in sequences and will take four wins on the bounce from now. Why is the reaction different this time? note - I don't actually believe in sequences. At least not as some kind of portend, although, they do give a reasonable idea of what might happen (it is known as form..) and are a better indicator of events than some fatalistic idea of a doomed destiny! [-----Jan-----] [---Feb---] [--Mar--] WWWWWW DDWWW WDD? Jan Feb Mar 2014 WWWWDW LLLDW LDLDLL Jan Feb Mar 2013 make your own mind up, but to me it up looks similar only in Jan but Feb & March ... nothing like it btw way rest of 2013 went : LDDWDLW which is 9 pts, which right now means if we play as badly as last season (from now on) but add an extra Win versus QPR we are promoted i great thread !-)
Poiseuille Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 It was Twiglets for me last season. This season it's been mini chedders and Jaffa cakes.
Buzzell Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Last night during the game i couldnt help but think 'this is all very reminiscent of last season' Players looked fatiuged we were extremely poor and displayed a complete lack of urgencey. I really hope it doesnt happen again as i would be literally devastated if we didnt go up now. How many times do I have to say 'Keep the faith'! The wheels haven't come off yet! The unbeaten run continues, we're still top, with a game in hand over Burnley. Stop worrying.
Babylon Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 There's no comparison with last season whatsoever - either in the standard of our side or what has already been achieved in terms of results. But that doesn't mean we need to get getting cocky, complacent, dismissive and disrespectful because, if anything's likely to knock us off our pedestal, it's letting smugness creep into our attitude whether off the field or on it because the sort of comments made on Radio Leicester last night are the perfect incentive for any opposition. Good job they won't have been listening to that moron then.

We won it 3-1 but I thought it flattered us a little. Please tell me this is some kind of joke, literally the most one sided game you are ever likely to see with a team on top going in 1-0 down, the game could and should have been vastly more than just three goals.
Kitchandro Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 This forum. Grow some balls. God help you people if something bad actually happened in your life or, heaven forbid, we lost a fvcking match.
Thracian Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Good job they won't have been listening to that moron then. I could never prove it but feel quite sure the comments would have got back to the Yeovil camp quickly enough. They were certainly being talked about around and outside the ground before the game started.

Leicester fans on the other hand, would.

I agree .... I felt like i was watching a different game than was being reacted to in the ground and on here .... We totally dominated .... lacked a cutting edge at times - but they had 11 men behind the ball. The one thing they did well that I can't understand why more players don't is to cut the pass out rather than wait for it to go to the man and then jockey him. I think that must have been us telegraphing some of our passes and not playing with quite the crispness that would have ended up with the 5-1 scoreline that the possession deserved.
MC Prussian Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 I very much doubt anyone to do with Yeovil tuned into radio Leicester. Leicester fans on the other hand, would. Considering the fact that many Leicester fans living outside the UK are given no other choice when it comes to matchday coverage, they actually have to tune in.
benpicko Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Hope we got enough points to avoid the drop?? No we'll be in league two in no time We're that shit that they'll relegate us twice

Well, if you don't mind me saying, that sounds a little hystrionic. Towards the end of that game we were playing with swagger and we also won comfortably. But...I personally was anything but comfortable for large parts of it. I think the level of our performance has dropped a little recently and I wonder whether complacency or pressure is having an effect now. If we have to scrape and draw our way to promotion then so be it. Romping to 100+ points would've been great and might still happen, but if we are second then I'm happy with that.

Mark_from_USA Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I laugh at some of the nervous ninnies on here. I'll give you a smack - upside your head. Actually, City just did that.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 19 unbeaten, haven't lost this year... yep last year all over again
