pazzerfox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I don't think we are giving enough credit to Yeovil here. I thought they were terrific from the first whistle to the last, they gave us no space at all, they were touch tight on everyone in the final third and barely gave anyone a second on the ball. Nobody could find space (apart from Knockaert in the last 7 or so minutes) and when Lloyd came on, they harldy allowed us to even get it to him. I know they are near the bottom of the league and would probably struggle a bit if they had tried to take the game to us, but defensively they were brilliant. If we had taken that early chance, it would have been a completely different game and conceding played right into their hands. I believe it was a mixture of us not being clinical and them having the best game of their lives.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 What worries me is that players need resting, but have the 2 in form teams to play next, and 3 games in 6 days. We should have played a few fringe players last night, and i'm not just saying that in hindsight. And if the result had of been the same or worse everyone would be slating nige for making changes
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 And BTW nige is far more aware of the fitness of our players than we are
suffolk fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 It's 1 game. Barely smacks of last season. If it smacked of last season we wouldn't have scored, to be frank. 'Displayed a complete lack of urgencey [sic]'. You what? How does 31 shots display a lack of urgency? How does pummelling their box and goal with crosses and shots respectively display a lack or urgency? Were you even there last night? I was there but where the hell does 31 shots come from? The Bbc must make things up cos apart from the last ten minutes we were bloody awful last night. If Miller had taken that chance in the second half where he curled it just wide we would have been beaten. Yes, we are unbeaten in eighteen but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are Leicester City and we can fook this up.

suffolk fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Sounds like you love suporting Leicester I have supported Leicester all my life was born in the city and watched them at wembley in the fa cup final in 1969 for the first time was nine yrs old at the time. Love the club and all it stands for. Am a realist that's all. Even I do not think we can't mess this up this season. but and there is always one we never make it easy for ourselves, cos we are Leicester. Lets not forget Peterborough away last season. Last night reminded me so much of that game last season and we know what happened after this game. We really do need to focus and get over the finishing line. I am not bothered where we finish as long as it is in the top two.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Last night during the game i couldnt help but think 'this is all very reminiscent of last season' Players looked fatiuged we were extremely poor and displayed a complete lack of urgencey. I really hope it doesnt happen again as i would be literally devastated if we didnt go up now. I'm,kind of hoping that you're trolling.

The players have served up some tremendous football this season and are on a long unbeaten run but you would have thought that they did not give a sh..te listening to some of the supporters last night. It was a frustrating game but talk prior to the game saw too many people just assuming that we needed to just rock up to take an easy victory - Yeovil's recent results suggested otherwise. They were somewhat limited in their creativity and most of their chances came about from our poor passes being intercepted but they defended stoutly and last night's game just did not see James and Drinkwater boss the midfield in the way that we've become accustomed to. The sense of frustration and lack of patience in the crowd appeared to get to the players as they snatched at chances, tried to force the play and generally showed a lack of patience in their approach. Ultimately they still secured a draw because they showed the sort of spirit that has seen them gain points from positions that appeared to be lost. Get behind the boys - we've had a great season and whilst the title still needs some further work before it is secured, the key issue of promotion is all but done and dusted. City and Burnley will be going up and then we can sit back and enjoy the drama of the play-offs.
sdb Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 And if the result had of been the same or worse everyone would be slating nige for making changes but we'd have a fresh and fit squad for the 2 hardest games the league can currently throw us. Catch 22 but like I say, i'd have taken that risk.

Deucalion Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I personally can see the OPs point. It is not one bad game, it is currently three games where we have been less than convincing. There does seem to be a decline in form and I too worry we might go through a sticky patch. But...it will have to be a pretty huge sticky patch to derail promotion at this stage, although it could very easily derail going up as champions. It doesn't change the fact that we have had a remarkable season so far and it will be one to look back upon with nostalgia in years to come.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=YHYx7Sa4xRM I get your point completely

Not said with arrogance, but said with confidence.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 The opposition are having to put in their best performances of the season to even come close to us and that's with us not playing paticulary well

Why would you be devastated? If you've followed this lot for any reasonable amount of time you'll know it's never a smooth ride, we've never ran away with anything and never made it easy. Why can't anyone be positive? We're still 3 points ahead of Burnley, still unbeaten in 18, have scored in 21 consecutive games and thanks to the Schteve and Harry's boys shooting themselves in the foot, will stroll into the Premier League. Chin up!

Would we have gotten a draw out of a game we were chasing for most part last season? a) No b) No c) No Take a pick out of these three. Take your time.

Were we really that bad against Blackburn? Yes, we couldn't get a kick for about 25 mins of the second half, but I thought we played some outstanding stuff in the first half.
5waller5 Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Since 1st January: WWWWWWDDWWWWDD Why are we panicking this time? It isn't as if we haven't drawn two games in a row before - it is football and it happens. I believe in sequences and will take four wins on the bounce from now. Why is the reaction different this time? note - I don't actually believe in sequences. At least not as some kind of portend, although, they do give a reasonable idea of what might happen (it is known as form..) and are a better indicator of events than some fatalistic idea of a doomed destiny! I'd say the logical sequence from there would be two wins and then two draws???
CountesthorpeFox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I think its important not too over react and by saying these two draws represent a return to last season certainly is an over reaction. Having said that, I've been getting really fvcked off with people becoming arrogant regarding our position. How on earth, fans are claiming things are done and dusted before they are is beyond me, certainly after last season. I didn't listen to the Barnsley game but a friend told me Stringer was being patronising to them and things like that annoy me immensely. Who are we to start acting like we are big boys? we've been out of the prem a long time and with an arrogant attitude that will carry on. Fortunately I don't think Pearson will allow that attitude to translate into the players. Burnley is a big game, as if we didn't know it. We will have to play alot better than yesterday to get something from the game, but I think that we can. Lets get fully behind the lads in this run in and forget about everything else untill its over. Its ever so close, but we are not there yet.
Thracian Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 There's no comparison with last season whatsoever - either in the standard of our side or what has already been achieved in terms of results. But that doesn't mean we need to get getting cocky, complacent, dismissive and disrespectful because, if anything's likely to knock us off our pedestal, it's letting smugness creep into our attitude whether off the field or on it because the sort of comments made on Radio Leicester last night are the perfect incentive for any opposition.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 No, last year we would've lost two games. Actually, six months ago we would've lost the last two games. We will be fine. 18 games unbeaten is not easy. What we did last year is what Fergies united did for years. Played badly and made sure they didn't lose.
MPH Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I think that the OP has a valid enough point. . Bollox has he.
