Actually this reminds me of an incident when I was last on holiday. In the hotel pool there was an obviously gay couple who kept staring at my wife and I because she is deaf, so we decided that we would stare back at them because they were gay.

The people who apparently leap to the defence of Islam, in my experience, do so because people make assumptions about all Muslims based on the actions of a handful. There are sections in both books that advocate murder, but I'm fairly confident that the vast majority of Christians and Muslims aren't in favour of that. It's the people who believe and act on everything in the Bible or Qur'an that I have a problem with, but people who make sweeping generalizations about all Christians and all Muslims are wrong to do so.

I think Christians tend to go with the New Testament of which there is less killings,slavery,inbreeding and similar stuff but the downside is that there is still the fairy tale element and invisible friend. It was almost embraced as an identity for gays because that is what most people expected from them.
