StanSP Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Let me just say this - I'm absolutely loving this moment right now! Obviously in everyone else's boat in that we've waited 10 years for this and now it's arrived - it's a monumental achievement. But I see no harm in letting the haters etc know that to them we've done what they thought we couldn't achieve. Why can we argue with them all year but then not give them one at the end of the season? I want them to celebrate with us!!

Why can we argue with them all year but then not give them one at the end of the season? I want them to celebrate with us!!Why, because all the arguing was done last season, when we really ****ed it up, and some of the harden Pearson fans had doubts, this season has been very positive on the pitch, and even on this forum, so I don't see the point in stiring up old shit, so what some had more patients than others last season in regards to Pearson, pat yourself on the back, those that didn't are quite happy to say we got it wrong about the manager, but at the time things were terrible in the run in, but to bring it up and start using the word haters again, **** me it got boring last season, and cannot see what is to be achieved bringing it up. For once can not just be happy to have a promotion winning team we are all happy with, and enjoy the knowing we will be in the premier league next season, because no matter what anybodies opinion was last season, this is all everybody wanted.
Bluearmy 316 Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Why should the haters be let off their a disgrace to our club. If they had their way we would have no Jaime Vardy no Danny Drinkwater no Nigel Pearson and no promotion. Idiots
kingfox Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Simply because you give him shite. So do you. Mark knows it's flirty banter.

Haydos Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I think people who see it as rubbing in peoples faces are missing the point. It's to show them how quick they are to judge, how impatient they are and to try and convince them and show them that they're reactions are often stupid and knee jerk. The thing that does it for me is that whenever someone chimes in with the usual stuff I would always ask them what a better option would be than Pearson (Who was it that wanted Billy Davies in and was calling him King Billy? Surely that was a troll but never mind). Even when we were performing below par toward the end of last season I still wanted him in, we had potential with him in charge and sacking him would have just lead to a continuation of the merry go round that has been the past decade.

Great post Haydos. However, look at my thread I bumped earlier. There were many people THIS season that didn't think we would get in the top two. Indeed, a few even said bottom half. It wasn't only last season. I wonder how many of those who have been saying 'I told you so', genuinely believed that we would archive the dizzy heights we have achieved, when asked before Christmas? Many people do do knee-jerk. They wear their hearts on their sleeves. They don't treat the great imposter just the same. To be fair, you do keep calm. So do people like Babs. But many many don't. And people are people. Great post though buddy and I getcha.

I'm busy celebrating our promotion to the Premier League which is surely the most important thing!
Mark_w Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Simply because you give him shite. You can add many many names to the list of Pearson doubters last season. Only some, of course, have the bollox to admit it. Fair play to DT. Haydos is spot on though. It needs to continue into the Prem. I've got no problem with Kingfox, I quite like him, he was wrong about Pearson last year but that's all.

Good man BTS I've got no problem with Kingfox, I quite like him, he was wrong about Pearson last year but that's all.Bit naughty then to include both myself and KF in he same list as Seenitall. Particularly as I'd said I'd been proven wrong on Pearson on more than one occasion. No need for that at all. There are many who have been a lot more hostile toward Nige than either of us.
Raw Dykes Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Yes, he proved us all wrong - took his time but got there at last and huge congrats - still think he'll be gone by Xmas though Think or hope?
1972 Fox Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I have never been anti Pearson but have to admit that I had my doubts about him during the horrendous run we went on at the back end of last season. I also used to dislike the way he came across when interviewed by the media. It is now evident that he was misjudged by so many. Everything I learn about him now makes me realise that our club is in the hands of the right man with him at the helm. Even if we are struggling next season I truly hope that everyone connected with LCFC is patient and that we stick with him because we will benefit in the long term. Thank you Nigel and your backroom staff for being so good for our club. Long may it continue.
foxoffderby Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Another Shit Season Bnet Dangerous Tiger Seenitall Bentleys ****ing Roof (kiss my ass) Anyone who called Nigel Pearson NFP your boys took one hell of a beating!! Well done Nigel up the foxes and those who backed the manger like me from day one!!

Yes, exactly! I think it's important that those who were quick to call for NP to be sacked think about what would have happened had more people thought the same. I don't think it's fair to expect instant success from any manager. If there's clear signs of improvement, then it's a bit daft to chop and change, surely?

Thank you Nigel and your backroom staff for being so good for our club. Long may it continue. This was the thing, he was capable of getting us to the right level for at least half a season at least, we saw that for ourselves so I just didn't understand the calls for him to go because of one poor run. The evidence was right there that he could get us to where we needed to be, just not in the first season it turns out.
Renart Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I don't care who loved and who hated. At this moment in time I have a whole heap of love for the lovers and the haters! Who gives a flying f**ck anymore?!
Guest ttfn Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 To the haters who didn't think it would work. To the boo-boys who were short-sighted. To those who wanted Pearson out after last season. To those who said Vardy wasn't good enough. To those who said Drinkwater should have been sold. To those who just didn't think we could do it. What say you to this: To the Premier League!!! I wasn't sure it would work. I am short-sighted (albeit this is a medical condition). I didn't want Pearson out but I was as confused as anybody. Vardy wasn't good enough. Extraordinary improvement from him this season and shame on me and so many others for not seeing that potential. I thought Drinkwater should have been sold. He played like a dickhead for four months last season. Brilliant for 99% of this season though. I was wrong. I did think we'd do it. Eventually. I just didn't think it would be with Drinkwater and Vardy as our two best players! Well done to both - this promotion has been built on their consistency.

Manwell Pablo Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Well said, we are all leicester city. Is it really that painful just to hold your hands up, given that this thread was started by someone doing exactly that, not someone looking to say I told you so?
Vlad the Fox Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Let's not spoil the forum by a long list of we were right threads. I didn't agree with a lot of the things that DT, seenitall and others said but then again they wouldn't have agreed with a lot of the things I said at the time. At the end of the day we all wanted the same thing, success, which I have seen displayed by the number of times I've seen comments aimed at certain posters being batted back by them saying how delighted they are despite certain misgivings in the past. We've had success now, we've all got what we wanted so I doubt many are disappointed so let's not make them have to defend themselves now. We've got a greater battle next season so let's wipe the slate clean, be prepared to support the team and be level headed about our expectations and calm during the tough times. If people want a forum of happy clappers go over and have a look at ltlf, it's sickening, the negative balances the positive. And seenitall bring back the Frenchman avatar. WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE.
