queensguardfox Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Newly-promoted Leicester City targeting Celtic ace Kris Commons LEICESTER CITY are poised to make an offer for Celtic midfielder Kris Commons. Share 0 By Steve Morgan/ Published 13th April 2014 LEICESTER BOUND? Commons would complete an east Midlands set by joining the Foxes having previously played for Derby and Nottingham Forest [GETTY] The 30-year-old is due to sign a one year contract extension with Celtic in the summer but is interested in a return to England. The former Stoke City winger is a candidate to pick up Scotland’s Player of the Year award after scoring 27 goals in all competitions this season and Leicester manager Nigel Pearson is among his admirers. Pearson is also keen on Racing Club’s £5m-rated Argentine striker Luciano Vietto and Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni. Pearson wants to add at least five new players to make Leicester competitive in the Premier League next season.

MGLCFC Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Decent, but at 30 not getting any younger and is the Scottish Prem much better than the Championship? Certainly is one of the best players this year in Scotland, but still undecided about whether he'd make a huge impact in the Prem. Nonetheless, a realistic target.

The Scottish Prem is clearly worse than the Championship. We can do better (and need to) than Commons.
conLAD logan Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Ledley and Davis have both done well since coming from the spl recently and commons is a better player than both, I think he'd be a class signing
tylesta Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Goalscoring midfielder. Was awesome for derby to 22 goals in 66 games
Happy Fox Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 He is certainly better than Dyer! Can score goals has got good delivery the only thing he doesn't have is pace, is our of contract certainly someone that we should gamble on.
Fox92 Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Technically gifted. Not sure if he's the type we should be looking at but I never believe these rumours anyway, especially from the Sun, the Daily Mail or the Daily Star. In fact, I don't consider anything those three newspapers print at all.
MC Prussian Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Would he fit into our system with pacey wingers? I don't think so - and Commons isn't known for thriving in the middle of the park, either (isn't he a left midfielder by nature?).
AKCJ Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Not the right player for us, would cost a bit and is 30. Move on.

Happy Fox Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Is Knockaert pacey? No he isn't we don't have a system of pacey wingers we have of Full Backs though. Commons will give us much needed creativity on the Left Flank. Mahrez/ Knockaert on the Right Flank. Will we pick up a better left winger as a free agent I don't think so, so for me he is worth the gamble.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Yes... to what question? Sorry MC.. Left sided player..
Matt Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Daily star.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Arguably a better source than Twitter. As for Commons, we could do better, he's a Championship player and any current form he has is irrelevant due to being in that shite league.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Newspaper articles are not reliable sources, especially tabloid newspapers There are far more reliable sources on twitter
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Struggling to see what he would bring to a side that thrives on pace. What would his wages be like?

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 We can do better. Next. Who do you expect us to sign? I fear that some of us might be a bit disappointed with our signings next season Personally I trust our scouting set up to find the right players for nige to sign

If we was to sign him then fair enough, but I think there would be better players out there for us. Ravel Morrison? Adam Johnson? Depends on who goes down.
