AndWhat? Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 Hands up who voted for Fosse...come on. Didn't we do it by holding up signs at the ground? I feel like one side said City and the other Fosse? I just remember the bickering between fans. It was hilarious. I cant even remember what season. I think it may have been when we were last in the prem? Was Wimbledon home the last season we got promoted to the prem, was about 95% in favour of City
Renart Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 I want us to be Fosse again, sounds cool. Is it because it sounds a little bit like 'force'? May the Fosse be with you Wookie.
Istilllovefilbert Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 I voted fosse too. I got so much shit for from the people around me. I think the pressure of voting for Fosse was a bit much for some, but the vast majority of city fans wanted to keep city. I remember the chanting, "there's only one city" by nearly all the ground. I would still like Fosse, but to be honest, if we were going to change our name, I think changing it to just Leicester would be fine too.
fuchsntf Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 Hows about...and this is great,....... Fosse city,........ then you have the best of both worlds
Finnaldo Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 Why don't we open up a vote to see what the forum prefers?

Corky Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 I could cope with Fosse as it has been our name before and would make us stand out, but City is absolutely fine. Leicester Foxes would be utterly pointless.
Monsell1976 Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 Fosse I could cope with. Anything else and I'm gone until they sell up and somebody reverts back. Same goes for kit colour. I think Cardiff fans are a disgrace for sticking with them in all honesty. Our heritage matters.Well said
Foxes_Trust Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 The potential of changing name or club colours has been laughed at by all representing the club when attending the Fans Consultative Committee meetings previously, so not an issue to have any worries about. The current owners understand the importance of the clubs heritage.

Was City til I die being sung I think. Two other kids stole my card. *****. I voted fosse too. I got so much shit for from the people around me. Saxondale Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 I clearly remember seeing something on BBC breakfast news in the very early 90s about how we were apparently considering changing our colour to green. Last time I mentioned it on here nobody could remember anything. Anybody able to shed any light? I swear I'm not making it up. Maybe it was an April Fools prank? Edit - Here is my original thread about it:http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/77413-we-were-going-to-change-our-kit-to-green/
Deucalion Posted 15 April 2014 Posted 15 April 2014 I quite fancy being named after a cool South East Asian animal. Tigers? Monitor lizards? Flying foxes???
ceredigion Posted 15 April 2014 Author Posted 15 April 2014 Interesting that some people have mentioned changing the club's colours in conjunction with the idea of a name change. As it happens, this is also something we have done as well as change our name. At the start of the 1972/73 season our then manager Jimmy Bloomfield decided that we should play in an all-white kit rather than our traditional blue. His theory was that our opponents would fear us in the same way as they feared Real Madrid and Leeds United who were the best English side at that time. We finished 16th in the league that season and got knocked out of both cups in the 1st round. The experiment was quietly dropped and we were back in blue for the beginning of the next season. Not that that did us much good either.
