Ozwin Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 In a right scrap at the end of the first season. 7 games to go, Southampton, Everton, Hull and Swansea which will decide my fate. The final four games, Man City, Newcastle, Arsenal and Liverpool. Yeah, good luck with that. Let's do this.

Ozwin Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Signed Victor Ibarbo because I wanted dat Lloyd Dyer pace factor on the wings. He's actually been my best player by miiles and in one season has really improved across the board. Got Joel Campbell on loan, my top scorer with 10 so far which doesn't say a lot but he's someone I'll definitely try and get on a permanent. Signed this beasty looking left back too, Fabio Daprela, heard of him before and recognise his pic so I must have signed him on last years but I may be wrong. Anyway, like Ibarbo he's really coming on strong even though it's not been the best of seasons. Dean Hammond has also become a bit of a ledge, purely for filling in purposes when Cambiasso and James have been out. Enjoying it so far despite some minor issues at the start.

I tried Ibarbo on it after watching him beast Inter in real life but I had already blown my dosh and couldn't get Campbell on loan. On last years I signed JC for 500k and sold him for 6 mil in the next window.
Dan Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I've got Daprela too. Nicked it from someone on here he started awfully but has improved a lot to his credit.
Jordan Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Injuries and woeful defending contributed to an inevitable dip in form, but my Pools are still 5th, still banging in the goals, and still very much in the promotion race. One little tweak I've made that's helped our team defensively was to make my left wing mark tighter. Less goals are coming from the less side now (and less overall, phew). What may prove to be the best signing for me is adding John Murtough as my director of football. Already, he's gotten me a stud German-Albanian DM (early regen?) that was playing in the PDL (the 4th tier in the USA ). He's also brought in a class of young players that looks amazing--I've signed all 16 of 'em.
Ross-Kemp Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Finished 10th in my 3rd season. Disappointing really as I was top 6 until the last 10 games where I lost 6, drew 3 and won 1. I had Mahrez, Fierro & Hernandez all out injured.
Tom's Pasta Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Massive game for my second placed Solihull moors against first placed north ferriby coming up. Don't know whether to really go at them or be more conservative to avoid defeat, it's a must not lose
Dan Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Do we get any decent money to spend in the second season? I NEED Balanta.
Jordan Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 14-game winless run leads to my Pools slipping all the way down to a 9th place finish. Holy Peter Taylor, Batman! That tweak I said helped my defense? Yeah, that really didn't work out in the end.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Last minute goal against Bordeaux to get top spot in the group stage (Euro Cup)
Ozwin Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Crystal Palace, who were at one point bottom and absolute certs to get relegated have pulled it out of the bag with 3 games to go and well and truly pulled me into it. Thankfully they have United, Arsenal and Stoke and I have Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle. Something's got to give.
Tom's Pasta Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 I had a quick look at how the premier league is doing on mine, city are 19th, burnley are 8th!!!! Absolutely ridiculous
Beliall Posted 11 November 2014 Author Posted 11 November 2014 hmm, just got a 25% off voucher for FM2015 at GMG, through playfire. tempting.
Dan Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Actual FML I did the exact same thing there without their equaliser
VLC86 Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Well things are going well, Lost 5 nil to both Swansea and Villa away haha dreadful. Any tips how I can make my defence resemble a defence? Other than by quiting my City game obviously.
Dan Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 High pressing. Build your team around pushing the opposition into their half constantly. That's what I've done and whilst we do take the odd spanking, we've beaten West Ham, Sunderland and Hull at home since using this tactic with absolute ease. They haven't even looked like scoring. It works for a team fighting against the drop as they'll get enough wins to stay up. Maybe a bit premature to say that but I'm currently 11th after 16 games and not looking like I'll be anywhere near relegation.
Narborough_fox Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Finished my first season in 13th. Delighted with that after some very sticky patches during the season, the worst of which was an 8-1 hammering by QPR. Only signed Fierro and Kranevitter who were both very good for me. Drinkwater was different class, as was Mahrez when he was fit. Top scorers were Knockaert and Vardy who both got 8 in the league. Really struggled to get Ulloa to find any sort of form. Renewed Powell's loan for the next season and looking to strengthen at CB and LM. NB: Got a transfer budget of £19million for the second season.
Donut Posted 12 November 2014 Posted 12 November 2014 Dortmund absolutely implode in the 2nd half of the Bundesliga. I stole Reus, but then they lost Blaczykowski and Gundogan as well, and ive managed to stretch my lead at the top to 7 points. Got a big Champions League quarter final to play vs Benfica now. Anyone using any of the "new" positions? Thomas Muller is immense as a "Raumdeuter" on the right hand side
