davieG Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 It really is time that the football authorities allowed for fans to have a proper say before changes in how football in this country is managed are introduced.
Fox in the North Posted 8 May 2014 Author Posted 8 May 2014 Please tell me there's a way in which all the fans can say in this.
LCFC FOX Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 So skrill prem sides will get promoted only to be playing with a load of B teams. Also if a load of B teams reach league one over the years and they all finished in the top 12. That will mean 13th place (bottom half) will be promoted to the championship. How shite
Grandad. Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 All ifs and buts.. These B sides surely won't be playing at the first teams stadium? Can't see sides the top sides allowing that.
Guest MattP Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 All ifs and buts.. These B sides surely won't be playing at the first teams stadium? Can't see sides the top sides allowing that. No chance, just throw more silver at a desperate lower league club and they'll be forced to have their pitch ruined as well as division and chance of progressing through English football. What a great target as well, to win the 2022 World Cup, one that most would probably be prepared to boycott and one where our players will be running around in near on 50 degree heat. More farcial the more you read. All the things we could have looked it to see how Spain have been so successful, quotas on Spanish players in teams, places like La Masia, the whole ethos of the way the play football, the focus on low gravity footballers, skill and touch rather than height and power and we decided to look at the fact a few of them have a B side.
Dan Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 We are completely dismantling our league system which we have always claimed is the best in the World just to try and win the 2022 World Cup? Danny Mills now saying "In Spain the B sides hardly ever win the divisions" - You are right Danny, however in Spain the big clubs dont sweep up players from the second tier for 15 million quid to rot in the reserves either because they have more money than sense from a foreign crinimal trying to launder money. That's a point, that also means we aren't boycotting 2022.
Corky Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 We are brilliant, trying to change the one thing in football that is fantastic about this country. Having so many sustainable clubs is a real achievement. Putting Premier League reserve sides in there with them? Yeah. great idea.

This (as well as the rest of the post in fairness) is basically the entire thing in a nutshell for me.
Guest MattP Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Danny Mills has just said "If we carry on like this winning the World Cup for England will be the exception rather than the rule"Have I fell into a coma and missed us win a few?
Corky Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Danny Mills has just said "If we carry on like this winning the World Cup for England will be the exception rather than the rule" Have I fell into a coma and missed us win a few? No wonder people laugh at us. How much pressure do you want to put on the national manager though? "We've invented this amazing scenario, now we expect several World Cups",.
Dan Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Added pressure on the manager which isn't even justified unless we actually get to the root of our problems. I actually can't believe they're going through with this.
Steven Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I have a better idea. Why not leave the League as it is. Have a system where each Premier League Club each season draws the names of three League Clubs out of a hat Each of these Clubs can choose three PL Club u21s to take on loan for the season - with a recall if needed Keep the U21 league as it is for PL clubs This way the league structure stays the same and those better players end up playing competitive football all season.

"We've invented this amazing scenario, now we expect several World Cups",. Maybe we're relying on the World boycotting the tournament and the whole thing just boils down to England v Qatar in the final. We'd still probably lose on penalties.

Grandad. Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 This FA Commission has been a bleeding waste of time since day one, a lot of the idiots on there who won't admit previous failings (the FA), a washed up thug of a footballer, three managers who are out of touch within the modern game and someone from the PFA. There is something seriously wrong if all they have come up with since the creation of this commission is to create a new league to create B sides into the professional game, they can't justify the amount of time and money that will have been spent on this commission, that has only come up with this poxy idea, which they will go through with as it will make it seem they have done something relevant. Shocking and it's quite frankly making us look embarrassing as a nation. The reasons Spain and Germany are having B sides with a small amount of success is because the depth in their leagues are piss poor, the Football League in this country is very strong and very competitive. We have young lads playing in the Championship like Will Hughes, Danny Ings, Kieran Trippier, Matty James, Danny Drinkwater, Andre Wisdom, Nathaniel Chalobah, Jack Robinson, Ravel Morrison, Jesse Lingard and Patrick Bamford the majority of whom are all playing for the Under 21s - how will it benefit them lads who are on loan from the parent clubs to competitive Championship sides to then be playing for a B side v Grimsby, Torquay, York, Stevenage and so on? The likes of Man City, Chelsea and other Premier League clubs will still neglect their youth players and just let them rot away in this B side before then moving them on to another League 1 or 2 side.
lgfualol Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I dont even care if England win the world cup, I dont want this. We're better than this. No doubt they'll be some other ways of persuation to get this approved.. $
Raj Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 farce. man city b team in same league as clubs like hartlepool or wycombe...clubs with history. how many fans will watch man city b team v crewe??? Disgrace clutching at straw
Itsthejoeker Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 farce. man city b team in same league as clubs like hartlepool or wycombe...clubs with history. how many fans will watch man city b team v crewe??? Disgrace clutching at straw Wait. Where does history come into this?
kingfox Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Idiotic idea. Whoever thought of this, deserves a headbutt from Wasyl.
Corky Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Greg Dyke is saying it's doubtful the B sides will get promotion. Yes, that may be the case for the first year, but a couple of years down the line it will improve and it's likely Man United or Arsenal B will be promoted to League One ahead of a Burton, Morecambe or AFC Wimbledon, depriving them of a serious cash boost and also the glory.
Dan Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 The Premier League has blatantly twisted Dyke's head. I'm sorry but I fail to believe that that particular panel all came to this horrendous conclusion.
NewburyFox Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 @david_conn: Greg Dyke at ITV backed PL breakaway for top clubs to keep all the TV money. 22yrs later: solution is to offer them a B league too. I think that pretty much sums the man up to be honest. Shameful proposal. I can however get on board with the increased quota of home grown players in squads. That's a much better idea.
