Reduce the away allocation at the KP

With the 7,000 new season tickets nearly sold out after 3 days it looks as if there will clearly be some unsatisfied demand for season tickets. So wouldn't reducing the away allocation be the best option to meet this demand?

I think league rules state that the club has to offer 10% or 2,000 whichever is lower. In practical terms the club were able to do this with the 2,000 Doncaster supporters.

Without re-opening the debate on wether it is in the best long-term interests of the club to sell match tickets or season tickets, clearly having an additional (say) 1,200 season ticket holders would hugely benefit the club and I for one would prefer to have the additional city fans cheering the team on (2,000 away fans is more than enough to create an atmosphere).

As someone who had to sit in the home section at the city ground earlier this season I thought their allocation was disgraceful but that was because there was around 10,000 empty seats. This would not be the case here.

Some people on here are talking about extending the kp and maybe in the long-term that will make good business sense, but is the answer to the current situation under the clubs noses?

We've always given away fans those 3000 seats. Why should that change now certain fans want to become season ticket holders because we're in the top flight.

Reducing the allocation (even if we were permitted to do so) would only result in tit for tat reductions in our allocations at other Premiership grounds so probably wouldn't be in the interests of those who go away regularly

This, we can't try and keep every fan happy, at the end of the day someone is always going to miss out, it's unfortunate but it's life. I didn't manage to get a season ticket, but I probably didn't put as much effort into those who did, I'll look at a membership and try and get to as many games as possible still.

Couldn't have said it any better.

If the teams fail to sell out, then by all means sell the seats to home fans but I can see at least 10 teams selling out our away end, If not more.

The home team pockets 100% of league match ticket sales, so the club won't reduce the away allocation for the same reason they are keeping back a proportion of seats as match tickets - extra £££££.

Premier league DEFINITELY state that away fans be given a minimum 3,000 seats or 10% which ever figure is lower.

That's DEFINITELY wrong as Liverpool only give 2,000 tickets to away fans.

And we know how some clubs could work i.e you reduce our allocation, we'll reduce yours.

Keep it the same and, as you say, sell spare tickets to home fans. The fact is, this hasn't been an issue for 10 years and we don't really need to change.

It is definitely 2,000 - the premier league rule book says "34.2.1 Each Club must make provision for at least 2,000 visiting supporters at every home match or such number as represents 10% of the Club's certified capacity, if less than 2,000."

I agree that we get fed up with small away allocations (more so when the home-end isn't sold out) but Liverpool is a good example. Their ground holds 42,000. Our away allocation is 2,000 (well 1,965 to be exact, including the 3 back rows being restricted view where you can't see anything if those in front of you are standing up). Yet we will give them 3,200 tickets in a ground that holds 32,000.

As for the tit for tat argument, Liverpool will not give us an extra 1,200 tickets just because we are giving them 3,200. Of course the flip side is that our club goes tit-for-tat and says to Liverpool 'if you only give us 2,000 tickets then we will only give you 2,000 tickets', but does anyone really think this will happen?

I realise that the tickets sold to away fans raises more money on a match by match basis but taking the long-term view, surely having a large number of season ticket holders would pay dividends?

There are still a large number of our supporters who have tried to get season tickets but have been unable to do so and I feel sorry for them. Sure, the club cannot please all the supporters all the time, but I think they should at least put our supporters first.

Like I said, I would sooner see 1,200 of them cheering on the city on than 1,200 Liverpool supporters.

Good idea. We should be putting our fans first. Lots of teams won't sell out their home ends to us so won't want to lose money on our tickets & most of the rest will only give us 2k anyways.

We sold part of the away section to home fans for the donny game right next to L1 now they genuinely were a load of lifeless plastics just what we want more of in the one part of the ground where the supporters are well established. Would sooner have that bit empty if the away team doesn't sell out.

Should screen folk before entering the ground to make sure if they are a lad or not....

Even if it is just for the first season, give as few as possible to away fans. I think that the club should try to give our fans the chance to be the "12th man". 1000 extra Leicester gobs for our PL return is OK by me.

Yeah but what if they are 1,000 plastic fans? Still ok with it?

Season tickets like away support has a % on it so on the day plastic fans can get in.

If we cap clubs on away fans they will cap us and away we do count.

I can't get an st as I live in Great Yarmouth and can only get to odd games.

But the rules mean I stand a chance of getting a ticket.

I for one would be pissed if we took the lowest limit for away fans.

All I will say is Norwich in the cup?

We all moaned now some want us to pull that stunt.

YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS

im not looking forward to the first big club 'fan' who cheers an away goal in the home end. ****.

That is when the stewards need to move in and remove that person.

If they don't the police need too.

Fook em ST or day ticket they need to go.

Personally I'd help a steward remove anyone for that.
