C-man Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Considering the spending power of the two clubs, thinking long term for Leicester City is would be clearly be better for us to have Derby than QPR coming up with us. What happens then if Derby suddenly become an attractive proposition by being in the Premier League and get bought out by someone richer?
Fox Ulike Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 What happens then if Derby suddenly become an attractive proposition by being in the Premier League and get bought out by someone richer? That's more likely to happen to them in the Championship. How can you hate Derby? we always bloody thump them. Going right back to the 4-0 when Izzet and Heskey scored.... Then that last minute Savage penalty. PLUS the play-off final. Plus last season beat them home and away again. We even hammered them when Sven was in charge. I flipping love Derby.
Kitchandro Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 If it was done en masse it would be brilliant. Done by a few (as it would be) and it would be really shit and pointless.
Rasmic123 Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 dont give a shit about them being our rivals, if they go up they will almost certainly finish below us because they are a club with championship level players. QPR on the otherhand, have the potential to bring in better players as they have the backing and will also cash in on Remy. Plus I really enjoy us beating Derby
Corky Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Yeah but the point about having rivals is that you actually play against them. Derby v Leicester in the Prem would be a great occasion. Live Sky coverage probably... QPR v Leicester is just another "last-on-match-of-the-day" game. Plus QPR are vile. Plus imagine how pissed off Forest would be seeing us and Derby vieing for the top team in the East Mids... Come on you shiiiiip-shaggggaaaaaass!! Sorry, I'd rather they were both pissed off and not bothered as we were a division higher than the massives. They aren't a guaranteed six points, they aren't guaranteed to finish below us, I don't particularly want Redknapp doing well but the QPR fans seem ok. I do see your point Matt and if QPR were playing anyone else then I'd want those to win, Derby coming up doesn't really appeal, let's have at least a season without the not caring boreathon. Also, Redknapp has hardly got the very best out of his squad recently so there is no certainty that he'll do fantastically well next year.

Already said I'm fairly nonplussed by them in comparison to Forest and Cov but them having won things that have always fallen slightly of our reach and it being a local derby would be a good place to start!

New chant: "If you're non-plussed by Derby clap your hands" But yeah fair doos, I think I got a bit carried away when I said I love Derby. I meant I love playing them... Next year our local derby will be Villa... Good but not really local rivals... They care about us less than the Derby/Forest shitters do...Would be nice to have some local rivalry in the Prem as well as being able to laugh at Forest for playing Leyton Orient and Brentford. I think every fan has a love/hate relationship with their rivals. Look at it this way: If you could put Forest and Derby out of business, for good and forever... Would you?
Guest MattP Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 What happens then if Derby suddenly become an attractive proposition by being in the Premier League and get bought out by someone richer? If that happens so be it, Premier League clubs very rarely get bought out now though, it generally happens more in the Championship. Randy Lerner can't find a buyer for Villa and they are far bigger than the sheep.
HighPeakFox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 No - it's a dreadful idea. But now I understand how wars start
spirefoxes Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 I be stopping in to watch the champions league final rather than stand on a motorway bridge. these are the teams we should be bother about when we play them in 3 years time !
ashby_fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Fvck Derby!! Let them rot in the championship. They already have an American owner , who's to say they won't invest big money on players if they make the Prem. I'm quite happy to be all on our own in the premier the best team in the East Midlands at least for one season! The Derby fans I know in NW Leics still think they are better than us! Deluded!

Channies6thswan Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Great idea. Get it done! And when did footy fans become so boring? Remember the Blackburn plane at Burnley or the city plane over old Trafford? It's a bit of friendly banter poking fun at our rivals that's all.

Hugo Sanchez Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Why don't someone just get a bedsheet hang it over the Leicester forest east M1 north bridge with ... We are premiership **** off derby!!! written on it, if they lose If they win, get one made up of .. It's leicester and derby, forest are all on their own ...
One Legged Beaver Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Wouldn't people just assume QPR fans did it as they play in blue and white hoops?
LanguedocFox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Personally I think it will make us look small-minded and childish. Quite a few Derby fans won't mind if they stay down for another year - they've done remarkably well to get to the play-offs as it is - and a bunch of City fans being infantile about them losing at Wembley won't bother them at all. But will make us look like complete cvnts, when we have the ideal opportunity to look good. If you want to stand on a motorway bridge (why, FFS?) why not cheer them back - especially if they win. But you ain't gonna do that, are you.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Who's ever gone into a playoff final and thought I don't care if we don't win today because another season playing in the championship quite excites me ... Losing at wembley in a play off final would be one of the worst feelings ever. Swindon or Blackburn anyone ??
gibbin82 Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 In my opinion Anyone who would do this would be really sad, and to be honest I would be ashamed if people coming back to Derby from Wembley thought this was typical for Leicester supporters. And anyway if you visit the Nottingham Evening Post site you will see they hate Forest even more than we do and while winding up the Forest cavemen they have been very complimentary about Leicesrter saying how well we have done and wishing us well even if they don't join us.
DB11 Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 As it stands, I want Derby to go up. Hope QPR die My first preference was Brighton.
