C-man Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Not sure why people would want to waste their time - I've better things to do on a bank holiday Monday than to get a cheap thrill out of sitting on a motorway bridge, hanging a sheet over it and waiting for a car to pass by with opposing fans in that I'll never see again. For me , it just lowers the class of our club - just be proud of what we've achieved - what anyone else does or doesn't achieve is pretty much irrelevant. How does it lower the class of the club?! If you can't rub your relative success in the face of your rivals then literally what is the point in having rivals? No wonder Forest and Derby don't give a fvck about us when we are too concerned about how things might make them feel? Pathetic. (Just to clarify I couldn't be arsed with doing it, I just don't understand why people are concerned about it.)
The Horse's Mouth Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 you're saying we should do it to win back the love of our rivals?

So you think putting a home made sheet hanging from a motorway bridge with some derogatory comment is class? Like I said, better things to do with my time and more important things to occupy me about our Club. Do you not think it's a pretty pathetic, immature and pointless thing to do? Who will care that few Leicester fans take great delight in Derby failing at Wembley. How many of our rivals could be bothered when we lost to Watford and Cardiff in the play offs? Really find it difficult to understand what the motivation is behind this.
sylofox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Fvck the sheep let them stay down and rot with the trees. Anyway the fans won't want to go up as they will miss out on the A52 cup and sh4gging each other after the game. We are all on our own. So now they can sing it all they like. Yes we are on our own in the prem stay down and fvcking rot sh4ggers.
Channies6thswan Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 How many of our rivals could be bothered when we lost to Watford and Cardiff in the play . Was I the only one who took loads of stick after the Watford loss??? I took it a good old banter & now the shoe could be on the other foot. I still say get it done!
Langley Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I was actually thinking what is the view of flying a banner over the scum first game of the season? "Enjoy the championship" or something?
the_enlightened_one Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 **** Derby. **** Forest. **** Coventry. I would rather they all languished in League 2 and we never played them again. Bollocks to rivalry. I want all of them to look up at us soaring in English football whilst they are stuck at Burton Albion away. How any Leicester fan can want any of those teams to win is beyond me. Spot on

How do we know they'd have not done the same when we don't have to go through Nottingham or Derby like they have to go through Leicester? Forest fans didn't shut up about Deeney. Even during last season
Mickyblueeyes Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I'm sorry but if we did it after the play off final it was probably because we were playing Derby. Doing something like this after winning the league on a day that doesn't have 1 iota of significance to us as a club would be pointless. The defeat in itself (if they do lose) is enough. By doing something like this, it gives the impression that regardless of our promotion, we still need Derby/Forest to exist and quite simply we don't. The midlands is a great area for competitive games. We will have great games next year without a doubt. I'm sorry but the last we had a significant run in the premiership Villa games felt more of a Derby than the Derby games. We will be fine. We are taking the piss already. We are where they want to be. Believe me when you have Forest fans who believe they are the third elite club in this country (after only Liverpool/united) it hurts them more that they are trying to copy the model of the ones who hold no apparent significance to them. Same with Derby.
Stadt Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 The only reason I wouldn't want Derby to go up would be that if they fare better than us and they get all of the media attention, Sky are bad enough with the POs.
sylofox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Why don't people go out and put a few bad luck messages up for them in the morning. Might as well start the day off the way we hope it continues. Hope they all break down and don't get to the game. The trees will love them all the more if they stay down and don't desert them. All on our own and thats the way they like it so fvck em.
Vlad the Fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I might go and crash my car on the motorway. They wont even get there.
sylofox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I might go and crash my car on the motorway. They wont even get there. Sorry Vlad I can only +1 that once deserves a +10 from me alone. I hope they all miss it. HK might be a tosser but rather him go up with QPR than the sheep. We must be a laffin stock with our fans wanting to take the sheep up

Forest fans didn't shut up about Deeney. Even during last season Ummm. And that bothers you? Leicester City, 102 points, Champions, GD40 Notts Forest, 65 points, 11th place, GD 3 Watford, 60 points, 13th place, GD 10 Nuff said?
jonthefox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I was actually thinking what is the view of flying a banner over the scum first game of the season? "Enjoy the championship" or something? Nice idea.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 May 2014 Posted 18 May 2014 Maybe some of us have enough self-confidence. It's not difficult, once your balls drop. Mate.. I like your posts... but did you REALLY suggest standing on a motorway bridge and cheering back Derby!! Goodness me, get a grip!!
funguseater Posted 18 May 2014 Posted 18 May 2014 Come on derby, we want 6 points next season and a close by away game.
LanguedocFox Posted 18 May 2014 Posted 18 May 2014 Mate.. I like your posts... but did you REALLY suggest standing on a motorway bridge and cheering back Derby!! Goodness me, get a grip!! I suggested something along those lines, if people really want to stand on a motorway bridge on a bank-holiday evening. It's more adult than yelling "yah boo sucks" at Derby fans as they go home. Personally I think it's the OP who needs to get a grip: we are Premier League, and should start acting like that.

Corky Posted 18 May 2014 Posted 18 May 2014 When did all this "let's be nice to Derby" fad come into the world? Many fans are probably fed up of the "poor relation, little club, not fit to be named in the same sentence as our great clubs" comments that we've heard over the years from the Clough Trophy clubs and want to give something back. Yeah, it might be a bit tinpot or whatever phrase it is, but who cares, let's gloat if we get the chance.
ceredigion Posted 18 May 2014 Posted 18 May 2014 We shouldn't build up the rivalry too much. After all, for both Derby and Forest, we are a secondary rival and they're much more concerned about each other because they're so close and there's the Clough connection. Also if you're a City fan from the the Melton/Loughborough area, Forest are the main enemies. If you're from the Coalville/Ashby area it's Derby and if you're in the Hinckley/Lutterworth area you'll hate Coventry the most. I suppose supporters from the east and south of the county might even regard Peterborough or Northampton as the big rivals. If you're a City fan from the city of Leicester itself then you're spoilt for choice in this department. For me, the big rivalry in the 80s was with Coventry. Forest were still recent League and European champions back then and they definitely overshadowed us. Plus we never played Derby in the 80s because they were always in a different division to us. The rivalry with Derby really took off in the 91/92 season when we started playing them on a regular basis and there were lots of memorable games throughout the 90s. I'd have liked to see Wigan go up, but if it comes to it now I'd prefer Derby than QPR in the Prem next season.
