foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Will Pearson utilise him at anytime? I'm happy with the players bought in and have full faith in Pearson, but cash does offer bigger possibilities...
gregdj Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 what is this thread about? are we trying to sign Jonny Cash? Pat Cash? Craig Cash?
Babylon Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Depends if he been given much to use. The owners might want their £100m back
Candidcamera Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Pearson is getting some value and building up the squad. We still don't know who might leave other than Dyer. This is shrewd business IMO.
Vlad the Fox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Will Pearson utilise him at anytime? I'm happy with the players bought in and have full faith in Pearson, but cash does offer bigger possibilities... So does patience. Sounds like some 70's US cop show. Patience and Cash.
Captain... Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 I'm sure Pearson will spend some money when the transfer window opens, but at the moment we can only pick up those players that are free.
Fox Ulike Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Will Pearson utilise him at anytime? I'm happy with the players bought in and have full faith in Pearson, but cash does offer bigger possibilities... The transfer window is shut until July 1st. Shut. Not open. Closed. Sealed. Locked. Blocked. Gone fishing. Lights out. Middle of the night. Padlock on the door. Imagine trying to buy something from a shop when it's not open. (Before the internet.) That's the situation we're in here.
Vlad the Fox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 I'm sure Pearson will spend some money when the transfer window opens, but at the moment we can only pick up those players that are free. Exactly. You'd have thought that after the season that followed last summers moaning and negativity people would have learnt to be a little patient. It seems that the usual suspects have wiped the egg off their faces and are getting going again, I'm sure however that we will be able pelt them again, 'ouef'. I can't wait for the reaction when we lose our first pre-season friendly.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 You can buy players now. The transfer goes through from 1st July.
Stadt Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Would you rather Pearson spent £5/6/7 million on back up players than picking up decent frees to allow him to spend big on players that'll definitely improve the first team? It's not really too difficult to understand.
Captain... Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 You can buy players now. The transfer goes through from 1st July. We don't know what deals Pearson already has lined up, for when the window opens, but typically few deals go through at this stage as players are on holiday or heading out to the world cup, managers are assessing their squads, releasing players and picking up free transfers. For sure there will be quiet words and some serious negotiation going on at the moment, but it is great we got in early and got in ahead of the competition to recruit Hamer, Upson and Albrighton.
J.Lisemore Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Knowing Pearson we'd sign all of our recruits on frees, and still stay up. Pearson = Shrewd.
Babylon Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 I know what's happening, spend nothing for three years and if we're still up at that point, we'll go f'ing mental and spend that £180 we've just saved up. The comments from the owner are all making sense now.
Tom's Pasta Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 He knows what he wants. He probably knew months ago.

Back in 2012 we'd already parted with around three million for Vardy, James and De Laet come late May. And I thought training typically began in late June rather than July. Surely new signings can join up with squads for the start of pre-season.

Either way, it's still ridiculously early for anyone to even comment on how much we are spending (or not spending), or our transfer policy etc. Under O'Neill we signed everyone about the day before we kicked off ha.

This is what makes the situation hilarious, although every single player being on holiday will be the biggest factor at this stage. It's ****ing May, not deadline day. Tunch of moaning bwats
ozleicester Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Not sure what he offers us... but its a fine mullet

I suppose this is true. I think it's being a Leicester fan - a couple of promising bargain buys and I can't help worrying that it's 2003 or 2004 all over again! If we were to sign Campbell, however, I'd argue that we could already come to the conclusion that NP's policy for this summer, or his priority at least, was to bring in PL experience at a bargain price, rather than attempting to uncover the next big thing. It's a risky one, but then again any transfer policy is.
Candidcamera Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 He has to make sure we are ready for the Premier League and to get players in now is great. The Walsh factor may come later even at Christmas. The window stays open until the end of August but these free transfers will be gone. I think he has the balance of what we have and what we need in mind at the moment.

Vlad the Fox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 I'm always running into them on my sun £9.50 holiday.
