BosomBouncer Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 I reckon we've just been thrown in the hat, again, because we have money. Not too dissimilar from what we've got now.
allen10 Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Leeds need the cash and by demanding £8M they're pricing themselves out of being able to sell McCormack. Someone I know who is usually pretty good when it comes to Leeds reckons £4-5m should be enough but doesn't think we're forerunners to sign him.
Brooksy Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Ross McCormack @Rossmccormack44 · 53m Don't read the mail online! Lazy as they know I had a great relationship with Brian.
Haydos Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 If we pay £8m for anyone of Ross McCormack's ability this year I will start kicking people in the dick.

I heard we put in a £4mil bid on jan deadline day that was rejected. I'm not itk obviously but I'd assume they will sell at at least £5mil

Maybes Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 £8m? Hence why Pearson and co will seek to bring in players from overseas. Far more value for money.
Hack Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 One overinflated price doesn't justify another. It seems it is the price the market is setting. What would we be asking for Nugent (if he was under contract) and Vardy. if we were not asking for similar or more you all would be screaming your heads off. So before you slack off the value of players from other teams, just ask yourself what we would expect the value to be for players like, Vardy Nugent Drinkwater James Schlupp De Laet etc.
Babylon Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 If this ends up being our striking options next season please kill me now. Thought that might have happened already.
MPH Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Their new owner will be tarting all their best players about anyway so hes jumping before he is pushed. He's the Del Boy of Italy. He'll sell anything thats worth a bob or two..... infact he even looks like him...... let me find a photo.....
Blueblood1989 Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Poor mans wayne rooney but fvck isnt that what we need
ealingfox Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Tbf he must surely be better than we think, 28 league goals in a crap side is very, very impressive. I can't say I know what 'type' of striker he is, and I know that the article's linking of us with him is based on nothing, but I'd welcome the idea of us chasing him. However I have to agree, £8 million for someone who ripped up the Championship still seems ridiculously steep. I think Dwight Gayle was a real anomaly.
RizLCFC Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 I'd rather pay £8 million for Ulloa than McCormack, he will offer us so much more. Most of RM's goals last season were tap ins, with the odd spectacular finish, I think he'll struggle in the Premiership, not worth it!
Eastwellfox Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Jackanory!!! Getting very bored will all this paper talk bull!!
Fox Ulike Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 How much did Blackburn pay for Jordan Rhodes? It must have been around £8m for him even though he'd never played above League One. This is what strikers under long contracts cost. Crazy. Hopefully we can get Frazier Campbell for £1m, and then spend big money on Ulloa. McCormack is a very good player but its a lot of money for someone who is similar to Vardy.
katieakita Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Papers need stories to sell if the stories are true or not doesn't really matter. Ask Nigel if he would take Messi and you could run a story on Leicester want Messi. Promotion has given us tens of million of extra income so don.t be surprised if papertalk links us with plenty. As for McCormack Leeds are losing money big time and they need to sell they will be happy as many names as possible get linked with him and again wanting £8 million and getting £8 million and two dferent things, also of course we could play Leeds off against Brighton for Ulloa or again it could be gossip
Webbo Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Nobody is going to do us any favours selling their players cheap. If we want certain players we're going to have to pay the asking price.
Deucalion Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 I remember being less than impressed with the signing of Claridge but he turned out ok.
katieakita Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Leeds seem though to have plenty of money problems and have just got rid of Matt Lucas, if the stories about non payment of players wages,a managers pay off, iffy directors, losing £1 million a month etc are accurate they may need a quick sale of a few assets and McCormack is one of them, easy to link it his sale to the treatment of McDermott but the new owner may need to save face and offloading a player "who wants out" even if that has to be manipulated is a way of bringing in much needed cash. Might be an uncomfortable summer for dirty Leeds
Fox92 Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Always seems to miss a good chance before scoring. Not that I'm criticizing his excellent goalscoring record, mind.
LCFC2429 Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Buy him and ulloa were not a champ club anymore we need to spend
CollinsLCFC Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 He is a proven goalscorer, thats a given. But 8m is ridiculous. I would think 4m is a good standard offer, raising to 5m at the highest. Anything more then forget it. -"8 million?! Your avin' a giraffe! "
