FYI, Burger King is called "Hungy Jacks" in OZ.

As i understand it, there was a little burger shop in South Aust called Burger King and they wouldnt sell the name. (could be wrong though)

I heard the same thing when I was in Oz, bet whoever owns that has turned down a fortune for the name as well, fair play to them.

I've heard of that place and will give it a go as I'm down next week.

Hawksmoor is still the best for me followed by Goodmans in Mayfair, I've only tried Gaucho once and thought it was pretty poor, the room was far too dark and it was trying to be something it wasn't. Goodmans I've never had a problem with apart from a time where they had a guy in with a baseball cap on and the staff seemed to want to allow it, can often get a decent one at at a place called 'Meat' as well.

London always makes me laugh when I see all the tourists queueing up outside Aberdeen Angus, an absolutely appalling steak and you've got 4-5 places within walking distance that absolutely pisses all over it.

They do a cracking breakfast at one of the Hawksmoors as well but I can't remember the road it's on, always good for a Saturday morning bacon chop and bucks fizz to kick off an all dayer.

Gaucho is so up its own arse. I once made the mistake of going into an Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse back in 2009 after a few too many beers. Never again.

It'll be interesting to see how Buen Ayre compares to Hawksmoor. From looking at Hawksmoor they look like different types of places (not that that's a bad thing). I'm still aiming to get to Hawksmoor when someone else is paying lol Annoyingly our office has move from Covent Garden and is now a lot further from the Seven Dials one than it was.

Meat market burger in covent garden, highly recommended.

Used to go there for a Friday lunch treat when I worked round the corner. Utter filth in a good way.

McDonald's. Only ever go Burger King in a airport.

It's not fantastic but don't think McDonald's is that bad, I've certainly had worst burgers in some chain pubs. Think its a guilty pleasure for a lot if people.

I actually know a guy who lives in London and still uses it, it's baffling when you can look around, the menu at Buen Ayre looks very nice.

Always a very good idea on the bloded part, a guy who comes with us sees himself as a bit of wine expert and usually pays for the that while the rest share the cost of the food, always good as when he's pissed he'll end up dragging Christopher (the sommelier at Seven Dials) out and buying one for about £300-400 before moaning about it the next day. lol

The breakfast is at the Guilhall branch and that's worth a try if you are ever about in the morning. The Bacon chop and Bucks Fizz and you won't have a bad day afterwards.

You have to wonder, wihout trying to come over as a food snob you have to wonder why people who actually want a decent burger would go there.

lol We walked out after running up a massive one in there by accident, went back to pay it the next day and they were great, we'd sent this Dutch couple a £120 bottle of wine as well to celebrate their engagement and they got pulled for it according to the staff the next day.

Problem is if you have a table of four, a good wine, good steak and the caviar to start you've pretty much racked up £500-600 already before drinks and sides..

It's the Guildhall branch that does the breakfast, it's absolutely ridiculous. Sadly I think they've stopped doing it at the weekends now and none of the other Hawksmoors do it either. You been Duck & Waffle for their breakfast yet? Sensational. As is Dishoom, the indian tapas place. They do bacon sangers in a massive fresh naan bread which is in the top 5 best things i've ever eaten mate.

Bodeans is always a favourite of mine for cheap and quality smokehouse food, it's been faultless.

Whoever mentioned Meat Market in Covent Garden, it's part of the Meat Liquor burger chain which hooked me on burgers a few years ago and i've since been to every place going in search of the perfect burger.

Bleecker street burger keeps winning all the awards as the best one in London right now, annoying thing is it doesn't have a permanent residency. They flog their burgers from vans and stalls at street food markets all over London. They are well worth tracking down though, I cannot tell you how good their burgers are. I have emailed them to see if I can do some work experience for free (so I can nick their recipe to use as my own when I set up in Leicester)

Another absolutely stonking burger but is a bit of a trek to get to if you don't live in London, is Dip & Flip. They are based in Clapham Junction and they serve their burgers with sliced roast beef in gravy on top and then a jug of gravy to pour all over the whole thing as well. It's like trying to finger an eel when you eat it but it's the bollocks.

Northfield Farm, from Rutland have a stall in Borough market in London. Their home-made burgers are great, they have a farm shop in Rutland as well, though I haven't been to that.

They are quality mate, had one a few weeks ago. They do spot on hot dogs as well. Good honest snap like that is a thing of beauty.

I'm struggling to see if you're being sarcastic or not. Kashmir just resembles minging disgusting hangovers

Wasn't being sarcastic I think their kebabs are amazing.

BK if I had to choose one, but the one in town is about as expensive as an airport!! £7 for an xl whopper meal... couple of quid more you could go and buy one from a restaurant in town that makes them fresh.

All noted and written down.

Duck and Waffle looks possible, I'm a steak more than a burger man mind, I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't like eating with his hands.

I had the greasiest double bacon and cheeseburger from some dosshole in Brixton on Saturday night, it was absolutely fantastic, if I wasn't a few minutes away from home on the bus then I would have got another one! Sensational.
