Burger King vs McDonald's

i'm gonna try almost famous in liverpool very soon. it's meant to be heaven. it looks like heaven, for sure.

Manchester's Almost Famous is full of hipsters, but I've been told it's the bollox hands down. In fact Manchester is getting a rep for some proper decent grubbery.

EDIT: And in answer to the OP, BK over McD's given the choice. But as it's been pointed out there are very hard to find. Also up until KFC changed it's fries, I'd have veered in their direction for my deliberate in the post loose bowel movement.

There's something seriously wrong when everything on your menu doesn't require teeth to eat it, and about 30-45mins later the feeling of a gaping vacuum as your dinner is fast tracked to a party in your lower bowel, is exceptionally annoying, and the hunger that you thought was satisfied is back with a vengeance.

Yeah it's hipster paradise, go with your bird or mates, take a picture of your scran, put it on Instagram with a cool filter an it's all gravy.

Last time I had a McDonalds was on a night out, didn't even finish my burger as it was too disgusting even after drinking shitloads. Never again.

McDonalds always turns into the place where all drunks go. Not a massive fan, especially after a night out, but the atmosphere (if you call it that) when everybody is just out of it and in McDonalds is quality.

Love the Hawksmoor near my London office off Spitalfields. Great craft ales as well. If you're ever in bristol then grill stock is the business. Dirty burgers, pulled pork, burnt ends etc. Also run an American barbecue and alt country music festival every year.

It's the Guildhall branch that does the breakfast, it's absolutely ridiculous. Sadly I think they've stopped doing it at the weekends now and none of the other Hawksmoors do it either. You been Duck & Waffle for their breakfast yet? Sensational. As is Dishoom, the indian tapas place. They do bacon sangers in a massive fresh naan bread which is in the top 5 best things i've ever eaten mate.

Bodeans is always a favourite of mine for cheap and quality smokehouse food, it's been faultless.

Whoever mentioned Meat Market in Covent Garden, it's part of the Meat Liquor burger chain which hooked me on burgers a few years ago and i've since been to every place going in search of the perfect burger.

Bleecker street burger keeps winning all the awards as the best one in London right now, annoying thing is it doesn't have a permanent residency. They flog their burgers from vans and stalls at street food markets all over London. They are well worth tracking down though, I cannot tell you how good their burgers are. I have emailed them to see if I can do some work experience for free (so I can nick their recipe to use as my own when I set up in Leicester)

Another absolutely stonking burger but is a bit of a trek to get to if you don't live in London, is Dip & Flip. They are based in Clapham Junction and they serve their burgers with sliced roast beef in gravy on top and then a jug of gravy to pour all over the whole thing as well. It's like trying to finger an eel when you eat it but it's the bollocks.

Found a picture of my Meat Market burger tucked away on my phone. I was tucking into this at work. Incredible scran.

Haven't been to Bodeans for YEARS, I need to get myself down there. I'll also keep an eye out for Bleecker Street Burgers. they're down the Dalston yard (at Street Eats I'm guessing) which is about 10 minutes walk from my house. I've got no excuse.

Also, gravy on a burger sounds incredible

Is the handmade burger company any good?

Heard mixed reviews.

Only if you get voucher cloud and go with a discount. Never worth full whack.

They're not bad, but you can do better. Where are you going?

Can't remember exactly but it did seem fairly expensive for a Burger joint.

I've eaten there twice, the Lamb mint burger was the bollocks but the next time I went I had something more plain and it didn't knock me over.

spent 2 weeks in Dom rep 3 years ago and the food was crap. So after not eating for 2 weeks when we got to the airport i spotted Wendys. Never had one before but the baconator tasted like heaven.

Got married in Dom Rep last year and was proper excited to get to the airport at the end of the holiday just to have another baconator. Tasted just like the 1st time. will always love Wendys
