Nugent - SIGNS 2 YEAR DEAL

I believe I started with a question; that is not a statement.

But then you answered your own question, making it a statement, which you then used to put down the opinions of others as nothing but sentiment.

You're entitled to your opinion about Nugent but using illogical assumptions to back it up just makes you look daft. He may well turn out not to be up to it but I'd back him to give it as good a go as any of the other players mentioned.

It doesn't matter what he deserves to be honest, I'm sure we all deserve a pay rise and a promotion in our lines of work but it's business and sentiment doesn't apply.

My opinion is that I think the above players will score more Premier League goals next season. Nugent may have been our top scorer for the past 3 years but that was in the Championship. The only evidence we have of Nugent in the Premier League suggests he won't be very successful. If we are to stick by him then that means we won't have a good season. I support the club not the individuals.

But Bert wasn't basing that on sentiment, he was basing it on the fact that the boy has been our top scorer in each season he's been here and managed to reach the 20 goal mark whilst creating more assists than anybody in the Championship last season. You argue that it's only the Championship in which he's scored but then argue cases for Ulloa, Wood and Vardy to net more than him in the top flight - all of whom scored less than the man you're chastising in the division you're belittling.

Your logic is bafflingly non-existent.

Thanks pal. I don't need to reply.

Apparently, Nugent signed his contract this morning.

I don't know the details but that's what I was told this afternoon.

I wouldn't put my mortgage on this but the the fella who told me had no reason to lie and his son works at the KP.

Judging by his tweet expressing delight at facing Everton on the first game of the season I would say it is likely that he has signed a contract.

Maybe, I thought that a coincidence too after reading the boards before going out.

So many people expecting Vardy to be great. It's another big step up for him. I hope we've learnt from last time and back him if he looks out of his depth again.

Nugent, Vardy, Wood and Campbell would be great competition

The sooner he signs a new deal the better. Been a very good signing for us and we'd be mad to let him go.

By all means bring in a new striker to add competition but to replace Nuge? No.

This.

Bert claimed Nugent deserves to have a chance in the Premier League, that's called sentiment to me, pal.

Also, I didn't make cases for those players other than guess who I think will score more than Nugent. I don't want to sign Ulloa, but if we did, I think he will score more.

He did, and he does deserve to have a chance in the top flight based on STATISTICS, it's nothing to do with sentiment - pal.

Might just be me but surely by saying they'd score more than Nugent (whether you want them to play / sign or not), you were indeed actually making cases for those players, and there's no logic to it in the first instance given Nugent scored more than all three you highlighted. You're embarrassing yourself as per.

Chopra and Bothroyd used to score loads at this level and were poor in the prem, we all know that there are Championship strikers out there, Fryatt is another, he obviously thinks Nugent is 1.

As for buying a house, Leicester is a pretty central location to commute from if he moved on so that doesn't mean much

According to you. I'll take it with a pinch of salt, pal.

Quick question for you all....Why would nugent buy a brand new £400,000 house in Countesthorpe and then leave??? I know players are on a lot but £400,000 is a lot of money.

He doesn't just lose the house if he moves, he can re-sell it.

There's been a lot of talk on this thread about his ability as an individual, but the other point is that we know he will fit in with the team we have now and given that NP has said there will be limited changes then I think that is significant. When we bring in a new player we don't know what that will do to the team as a whole. Nuge is a safe bet as well as being a proven performer in this team.

Personally I don't think nugent good enough for the premier league

Goes missing for to much of games

If our deals not good enough for him let him go

Posted

easy one this.  I like nuge and i want him to stay.  I'd like to keep all our first choice players from last season and build on that.

however, if his demands are too much, then he has to go.

He is a Pearson favourite. He'll be staying and he'll be setting up our other strikers all day long.

Stop the knocking you're embarrassing yourselves.

We're Leicester not Barcelona.

Sensible. If he has purchased it and moves on, he just rents it out and has an investment. More sensible buying it than losing money renting.

Why has he spuffed £400k on a house in countesthorpe?

No offence but I can think of 10 places more attractive to live in leicestershire than there.

Your claim that he will be setting up goals all day long is embarrassing.

He's Nugent not Navas.
