StanSP Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 I love it. Especially when it gets on Bruno Martins-Indi's feet. What I hate is commentators like Lawro and Jonathan Pearce calling it 'shaving foam'.

Grandad. Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Struggling to see how this could be a bad thing in any way? Good idea, cutting down on cheating.
MC Prussian Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 I think Gillette should start offering the 915 in small doses. This should help draw a clear line as to how far my facial hair can grow, for instance.
StanSP Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Think someone should tell him it's vanishing foam! No need to wipe it off! You know what gets me the most? He KICKS it away then wipes it off. He got more on the boot from his own doing lol
Sharpe's Fox Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 The only thing they need to do with it is to mix a little pepper spray in there so when players run up to and moan at refs they can get some in their eyes.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 I love it. Especially when it gets on Bruno Martins-Indi's feet. What I hate is commentators like Lawro and Jonathan Pearce calling it 'shaving foam'. Clearly is shaving foam. I've been known to occasionally ref our team's Sunday league games if I'm out injured and the ref doesn't turn up, and I live 2 minutes walk away from out pitch. If I officiate a game next season I'm going home to get back home to get my Series Sensitive and I'm going trolling.

Knowing kids these days it won't take them long to nick it off you and draw a massive penis jizzing in to the goal.
Stuliasz Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 I love how pretty much every commentator has said at some point that they can't believe it wasn't thought of years ago. If they just spoke to anybody who has watched Brazilian football at any point in the past five years, they would know it's been used over there for ages. Shows them up a bit for how little research they do (with a few exceptions).
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Knowing kids these days it won't take them long to nick it off you and draw a massive penis jizzing in to the goal. it's an adult team I actually play for, not a kids team. So the penis is more of a certainty than a maybe.
Guest Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 spray is fine. Now what are they going to do about players exagerating contact. Let's go to 1 ref and video ref who can rule on every infringement with the use of video playback in real time.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 They have used it in the MLS when i went, like it not sure how any one couldn't.
Fox92 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 They've used it in South America for years, so those lot are used to it anyway. I think it's a good idea really.
DennisNedry Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Of all the things about modern football to moan about, you pick this one!
Haydos Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 No detriment to the game and means refs can concentrate on other things rather than watching to see if the wall encroaches and moving them back again.
StanSP Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Seen a few times the wall encroach a couple of steps over the spray and therefore rendering the spray ineffective. It's no use having it if the punishments for stepping over aren't going to be put in place. What is the punishment for stepping over, anyway? Does the free-kick get moved forward?
fazzyfox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I keep expecting the ref to do a Tony Hart and shuffle around the pitch spraying lines incorporating the existing circles and lines to create a giant picture of a whale or a dinosaur.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 The referee looks fvcking stupid while he's spraying. Especially when he can't draw a straight line Not to be a pedant - but the line doesn't have to be straight, does it? As long as the opposition are ten yards away from the ball - which is a round object, hence the area around it which opposing players are not allowed to enter would indeed be circular.
Mike Oxlong Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I could do with a can of this stuff for when Mrs O's got the arse with me.

The lines look like they've been drawn by toddlers.
Mike Oxlong Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 If Rolf Harris is acquitted FIFA could employ him to draw a nice straight line.
Vacamion Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 If Rolf Harris is acquitted FIFA could employ him to draw a nice straight line. Like this? (Hidden as NSFW) Can you guess what it is yet?
Voll Blau Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 I agree with the OP. What's wrong with the ref just spitting on the ground and telling the players to fvck off behind where it lands?
Jimothy Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 You're right, of course but I swear some of these refs are pissed. The lines look like they've been drawn by toddlers. Because the most important thing is it's exactly straight! Not that it's just a guide marking for a line players can't pass. It works fine, it's a decent idea, I don't get the issue.
