Vanishing Spray

I love it.

Especially when it gets on Bruno Martins-Indi's feet.

What I hate is commentators like Lawro and Jonathan Pearce calling it 'shaving foam'.

lol Think someone should tell him it's vanishing foam! No need to wipe it off! lol

I think Gillette should start offering the 915 in small doses.

This should help draw a clear line as to how far my facial hair can grow, for instance.

You know what gets me the most? He KICKS it away then wipes it off. He got more on the boot from his own doing lol lol lol

Clearly is shaving foam.

I've been known to occasionally ref our team's Sunday league games if I'm out injured and the ref doesn't turn up, and I live 2 minutes walk away from out pitch. If I officiate a game next season I'm going home to get back home to get my Series Sensitive and I'm going trolling.

Knowing kids these days it won't take them long to nick it off you and draw a massive penis jizzing in to the goal.

I love how pretty much every commentator has said at some point that they can't believe it wasn't thought of years ago. If they just spoke to anybody who has watched Brazilian football at any point in the past five years, they would know it's been used over there for ages. Shows them up a bit for how little research they do (with a few exceptions).

lol it's an adult team I actually play for, not a kids team.

So the penis is more of a certainty than a maybe.

spray is fine. Now what are they going to do about players exagerating contact.

Let's go to 1 ref and video ref who can rule on every infringement with the use of video playback in real time.

Posted

They've used it in South America for years, so those lot are used to it anyway. I think it's a good idea really.

No detriment to the game and means refs can concentrate on other things rather than watching to see if the wall encroaches and moving them back again.

Posted

Seen a few times the wall encroach a couple of steps over the spray and therefore rendering the spray ineffective. It's no use having it if the punishments for stepping over aren't going to be put in place.

What is the punishment for stepping over, anyway? Does the free-kick get moved forward?

I keep expecting the ref to do a Tony Hart and shuffle around the pitch spraying lines incorporating the existing circles and lines to create a giant picture of a whale or a dinosaur.

The referee looks fvcking stupid while he's spraying. Especially when he can't draw a straight line

Not to be a pedant - but the line doesn't have to be straight, does it? As long as the opposition are ten yards away from the ball - which is a round object, hence the area around it which opposing players are not allowed to enter would indeed be circular.

You're right, of course but I swear some of these refs are pissed. The lines look like they've been drawn by toddlers.

If Rolf Harris is acquitted FIFA could employ him to draw a nice straight line.

lol Because the most important thing is it's exactly straight! Not that it's just a guide marking for a line players can't pass. It works fine, it's a decent idea, I don't get the issue.
