Just because you have a good world cup Daniel, doesn't make you some kind of awesome player. The premiership and la liga are alot tougher.

In your idiot logic, brian ruiz is a better player then Rooney loool.

Spain, Portugal, England, ivory coast and Italy are much better sides then the USA.

And MC please your logic is even more retarded, Switzerland are better because they got further hahaha

Leicester must be better then Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd because we got further in the league cup !!!

Seriously US fookin A.

Bryan Ruiz certainly performed better at the World Cup, leading his team two stages further than England.

Spain, Portugal, England are all better sides than the USA - on paper and in the heads of some deluded fools who mix up individual quality with team spirit.

At least I have some logic - you have none, Ash. Your ramblings on here are pathetic and unsubstantiated, almost, if not as bad as POTM's ridiculous stance on player ratings.

Seriously, Ash. What have you been drinking for the past few years? Pure alcohol?

Better individuals than the USA, not better teams though.

Football is mainly a game of who can mould the better team, not who has more star players on their team sheet.

The main flaw in your argument is that you believe that "more success" equals "better players

It doesn't.

USA over-performed.

England under-performed.

England > USA

It all boils down to fans' expectations and a certain amount of "delusion of grandeur", as a wise Mr. P once said.

It's not a flaw when the better team wins matches at an international tournament, it's a given.

England have certainly above-average players, but they have failed on the international stage for a while now, which is shambolic.

Football in the US is on a steady rise, whereas England's importance on the world map is actually regressing. And the issues are all home-made.

England has found its level.

Keeping the current trend in mind (without pondering "the glorious past"):

US=England, with a slight advantage for the US boys.

No I judge players on their club form rather then rating someone on a world cup. Salif Diao and El-Hadji Diuof were amazing after their world cup for Senegal ...

No offence I will school you on football all day, your logic honestly is retarded. World cup these days don't make you world class, championsleague and league form does.

See what I mean the US football is a raise !!!, the MlS is shockingly crap on par with scottish 2 division.

Tell you what MC, when the MLS gets more popular and better player's and bigger crowds then please come back to this thread

Are you actually reading a thing he writes?

He's stated that England etc have the better players but that the USA performed better as a team, in which he is correct.

Jesus Christ almighty.

What has popularity or strength of a league got to do with the success of a national team?

England has one the most popular and successful leagues in the world, if anything its hindered our national team.

If England would had played America at the world cup and lose, the press back here would had slammed them massively.

Yanks 2 Planks 0 stands out because we're England, we don't lose to countries like the USA. It's not acceptable.

Agree with this man for once.

El-Hadji Diouf wasn't a class player on his own, he was a great team player in a young and hungry Senegal squad.

And then it went all tits up when went to... that's right. Liverpool.

According to your Champions League logic, Spain should've had a field day at this World Cup... lol

No because MC, this might come as a massive shock for you, but players who play for big clubs ... Don't give two fcuks about playing in the world cup after a long hard season.

Most player's class the champions League as the biggest trophy you can win and I agree. Why teams like America, Algeria and Costa Rica give it everything and the big nations don't give a monkeys.

That's why they're playing for their national squads and help them qualifying for a tournament they don't want to participate in and know about roughly four years in advance?

Yeah.

And of course, the US, Algeria or Costa Rica don't have players who have to go through the same ordeal with long seasons.

You make me laugh, Ash.

Something triggered your return and now you're doing even worse than during your first tenure.

Maybe an attempt at winding Leicester fans up before the start of the new PL season?

If so, you're failing miserably.

I'm battling your tomfoolery with logic and reason.

I think if you win the World Cup you are automatically heavyweight.

Are you saying you need to have won both the World Cup and the Euros?

Are Forest a heavyweight? They've won things a lot more recently that England have won the world cup.

Stop being an idiot. We haven't won the world cup for 50 years. We're a 2nd tier nation now.

Seriously no one is forcing you read this thread, I never get why people get so emotional about a thread. It's not going to affect you in life is it ? you plebs

How did they over perform? They've got out of the group in nearly every World Cup in my life time.

Yep. Played in only one fewer semi-final than England too... WE ARE MASSIVE.

You cannot compare it to club football.

When was the last time Forest were in the Champions League?

When was the last time England were in the World Cup?
