We've signed Bristol City to prove a point to OTIB.

Yeah I saw the Bristol youth team walking around in the megastore. They rocked up on a coach about an hour before kick off. Very random.

Played our kids earlier on the day.

You know that Schluup and GTF can play wide right?

Everton were missing Jagielka, Mirallas Lukaku and Baines whilst Barkley was an unused sub. Hardly left them down to their U16s.

It's like us playing without Schmeichel, Morgan, De Laet, Mahrez and Nugent. It wasn't there first team.

Really like the way we move the ball quickly, hardly anyone labours on it, takes too many touches in a static, negative way and we switched the play across the pitch several times.

Werder Bremen were awful. If I was one of their fans (god forbid because then I'd be German) I'd be pissed off at spending the money to get over here to see that effort.

Like others have said it confirmed to me that we will be competitive this season and will take the same approach (at least at home) as we did last season.

We will shock the pundits because on paper its mainly an all championship team and that won't go down well with the Shearers and Mersons of this world but give it a few weeks and Mahrez and Kasper will be talked about as our star players and linked with all the top 6 sides

I can't wait for them to start suggesting Mahrez, Kasper, Drinkwater, maybe even Knockaert "should move to a bigger club to further their career". Always makes me laugh when people knock players because they don't recognise them or they haven't played at the top level yet. Let's hope they will be saying this because it will mean we've done well and will have ruffled a few feathers.

It's laughable when they start saying that but it's sadly inevitable. What has happened at Southampton clearly sends out the message that the most any club can hope for outside the top 6 is mid table and maybe a good cup run.

If you don't have the financial backing of hundreds of millions you can't even build a team of talented youngsters to break into Europe these days and the culture of cherry picking sides like ourselves only confirms this.

The arrogance of pundits to think fans should just accept year after year of mediocrity just because you aren't Liverpool or man United is so patronising

Couldn't agree more. I really wanted Southampton to finish in the top 5 last season and at one point it looked as if they might. What has since happened is a complete condemnation of everything that is so wrong with the Premier League. Greed and wealth predominate and it is only going to get worse. It really is time that there was a serious look at this as really as a competiton the Championship is a much more exciting proposition. For sides like ours the only dream you can have is of finishing outside the bottom three each season until you inevitably get relegated somewhere along the line and possibly you might get a decent cup run but  with the exception of the last two FA cups even those are few and far between now.

Let's judge Southampton on how they finish the season and not on their preseason. It doesn't look good for them, but actually it may galvanise them, if players want out then it is better to let them go, and you can't say they didn't get good money for them. If they can rebuild this season, then with the money they have in the bank they could find themselves in a better position this time next year than if they had hung on to players who wanted to leave and be forced to sell them for cheap to avoid them walking away on free.
